About Joey Manieri
We are New Orleans natives that built a second home in 1998 in Bay St. Louis and retired there fulltime in 2004. We love saving and restoring old houses because of their charm and character. After losing our home to Katrina, we found and restored an old home a short distance from our original home site to return to Bay St. Louis full-time. We had purchased this cottage on Main Street in Old Town in 2004 to be a vacation rental and embarked on a total renovation. Hurricane Katrina interrupted that and required us to perform additional renovation work to complete the project. With the need for long-term housing, we rented the cottage to several locals waiting for their homes to be rebuilt. The first apartment in the cottage was placed in the vacation rental market in late 2010 and has proven itself as a comfortable home away. We have decided to add this other side in December 2011 because of the great feedback from our guests. We are hoping to restore more old homes in Bay St. Louis.

Why Joey Manieri chose Bay Saint Louis
We love renovating old homes and found this dilapidated vine covered cottage just waiting for someone to take care of it! It's location in Old Town makes it ideal as a vacation rental to allow our guests to be in the middle of what makes Bay St. Louis so special!
What makes this Cottage unique
The location allows our guests to be a part of Old Town and shop and eat without ever having to get in a car.

This property is located right on Main Street so you can walk EVERYWHERE! The duplex was perfect for both of our families. Breakfast on the back deck and cocktails each evening in the rocking chairs on the front porch. We'll be back!
We just returned home from a two month stay at "Latitude Adjustment" in Bay St. Louis MS. We had a wonderful stay and plan to return next year. The weather was lovely as was the rental property. The property was clean and well stocked, and centrally located in Old Town to make access easy to all activities, restaurants and shopping.
We did have one small hiccup in our stay that was tended to very quickly by the property manager, Joey Manieri.
Being a duplex was not an issue, as we had very courteous neighbors.
Great place. Looking forward to a chance to go back.
Property is in great shape and comfortably appointed. Walking distance to just about everything you'd want.
Cruisin the Coast week
As always we love this house. Close to everything!!! Wonderful place to stay!!!!
Nice manager however...
The description of the property did not come across as a duplex and I was surprised to discover that's what it was. One house converted into duplex. I felt like it could use a good cleaning! Seems the folks that checked in a day or two after me were just as surprised! The shower curtain was moldy on the bottom edge and the tub didn't drain properly so you were standing in yucky dirty water (did I mention the water in this place was yellowish brown?). The rugs desperately need to be cleaned! It's clearly an old home and that's quaint for this location, which is great! Very close to shopping and restaurants. The wifi and cell service is awful! I have Verizon and rarely have this much trouble with reception unless I'm in the mountains somewhere. The TV was not good either. One tv in the house, located in the living room and the stations were not easily found. No good directions on how to operate the tv and find stations. Some listed on the chart were not available. I rent units in MS to visit family more than for touristy things so these are concerns for me. Also, parking is an issue. Only allowed 2 cars per unit. You have to park tandem because the drive way is shared with the other unit. Off site parking is not in abundance. No street parking in front of unit.
The VRBO description is being modified to clearly state that this is one unit of a duplex.
Not sure about the cleaning in as far as when this was noticed. The tenant stayed in this unit 9 days without setting up additional cleaning. Never-the-less, I have addressed this issue with my cleaners and I have inspected this unit after their normal cleaning when this tenant departed. I addressed some minor issues which the cleaners immediately took corrective action.
The shower curtain was noted to have some discoloration and has been replaced with a new one.
We have set an appointment with a plumber to clear the tub drain.
An appointment has been made with professional cleaners to clean the rugs in both units.
Also we checked with the city on the discoloration of the water. The city constantly monitors its water supply and will look into this further.
The wifi system has been checked and is working properly. The wifi system has a tendency not to work well during bad weather which we have had.
As far as the tenants cell service, that problem is between the tenant and their service provider.
Yes there is one TV in the house as stated on VRBO. We will get an update on available channels from the cable company.
Parking can be an issue when both units are rented, but have not complained since this location is prime and parking anywhere can be an issue in this area.
very clean and nice.
Few things I would change . Bathrooms was not accommodating for elderly.
Master bath toilet is not handicap and bathtub is too high for elderly to get into.
Did have handicap hand rails, but hard to use. Need to leave more garage bags.
Parking was not adequate for more than 2 cars. Need to add another TV in the bedrooms. Other then these things I would stay there again.
We are centrally located allowing you easy access to all activities along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
