Space 1,600 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Office, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Leave the traffic and noise behind and escape to the Mendocino wine country. The quiet, little town of Hopland is nestled in the Russian River's Sanel Valley and is home to diverse selection wineries, all of which are within a short drive from each other. This is the perfect place for those looking to explore one of California’s most beautiful and less-traveled wine regions.

A nice alternative to a hotel, this 2 bed, 2 bath house is a secluded and peaceful vineyard hideaway, nestled at the base of Duncan Peak overlooking Terra Savia Winery's 35 acre Sanel Valley organic vineyard and Hopland.

The large, front yard awaits picnics and sunbathing. There is also a pool, and a hot tub. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a large bathroom which includes a spa tub for two. There is smaller bedroom with a queen size bed along with a separate reading/quiet room. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped. The living room has a fully stocked wood-burning stove to keep things nice and toasty. Throughout the house there are numerous original works of art and handcrafted wood pieces and furniture by local artists.

About Yvonne Hall

We have lived in Hopland for over 12 years. We own and operate Terra Savia winery, Sanel Valley Vineyards and Olivino olive oil milling services. We are passionate about where we live and work and we relish every opportunity to share the beauty and slower pace of our community.

Yvonne Hall purchased this house in 2004

Why Yvonne Hall chose North Coast

When our winemaker decided to move last year we thought how lovely it would be to share the vineyard that he described as his large organic garden. It is such a secluded spot with terrific views of verdant hills it beckons you to relax.

What makes this house unique

The dark country nights invite you to gaze at the stars or enjoy your morning coffee out on the deck looking at the vineyard and surrounding wildlife. Join the flock of wild turkeys and stroll through the vineyard. Picnic by the pond just a short walk from the house. Soak in the hot tub while admiring the rosy light of sunset on the eastern hills.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"The house is great! The art is great! We love it!! Looking at the vineyard, drinking a glass of wine...can it get any better?!

Great little hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the guesthouse with another couple when we were in Hopland for a wedding. The two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house, so we had plenty of privacy. The house is secluded and very peaceful, with great vineyard views. The kitchen is well equipped. Two cats patrol the property and are very friendly. If we ever find ourselves in Hopland again, this is where we'll stay!

Perfect spot for a wine country getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the guest house (two couples and a baby) over the Fourth of July weekend and had a great time. The house is set in a beautiful spot with a perfect patio for morning coffee and happy hour with some of the delicious Terra Savia wines. Nothing beats drinking a glass of wine while overlooking the vineyards where those exact grapes are growing! The pool and hot tub were clean and ready to use. The guys had a great time fishing at the pond and caught several bass (bring bug spray). The home is very well taken care of and dutifully guarded by two fun cats - Lulu and Lala. The kitchen is well-equipped with basics, but would suggest that you bring any "must have" specific items for recipes. Overall a wonderful experience, and we'll be back!

Anniversary Weekend

  • 4 of 5

My husband, toddler son and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend along with his cousin and her husband celebrating our anniversaries (marriage and engagement). The house is huge with two bedrooms on opposite sides of the home to ensure privacy. The kitchen is huge and had all the things we needed to cook or barbeque. The pool wasn't heated but for the guys it felt good because it was hot outside. The hot tub was body temperature and felt good. The property is fenced in and secure; we left our dog outside as we went wine tasting. My favorite part was getting up early and going outside to sit on the deck to watch the sun rise over the vines. We had a wonderful weekend and would easily come back again to stay.

This is the most amazing house

  • 5 of 5

Our family friends had the best time here. We had a family wedding at at the Red Barn Ranch, and Yvonne and Diedre absolutely saved us We were able to arrange and store the flowers for our kids wedding here. They went beyond what they could possibly do to make our son's and daughter in law the best wedding ever. The wine and olive oil is amazing. From the very beginning Diedre and Yvonne showed what amazing people they are. We owe them, and would love for them to visit us in Oregon for they helped to make this an amazing weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

terra savia guest house

  • 5 of 5

I reserved the guest house to stay in while I was putting on a wedding for my daughter at the Brutacao Contento site, which is just across the road from Terra Savia. Deardre and Yvonne, my contacts at Terra Savia, we extremely helpful. They even let me store some petals for the bridal walkway in their cold storage. The bridal party had a slumber party the night before and hot tubbed and swam in the pool and then in the morning, got ready at the guest house. We had our "first look" pictures taken at the little barn on site and then the ladies in the tasting room generously offered their room for more bridal pics which were stunning. The house also lended itself very photogenically for the getting ready pictures. You can see them at Larsen's Photography site under Pruitt Wedding, pass code P810. I can't wait to go back when I am not having a wedding. The large kitchen is great for entertaining and the views are so beautiful, especially in the meteor shower which we were lucky enough to be right smack dab in the middle of that weekend.

Perfect for so many kinds of vacations--and dog friendly!

  • 5 of 5

First, the pictures don't do the house, grounds, or surrounding hills justice. There are beautiful views from almost every room, from dawn till dusk. (Our favorite walk was in the moonlight, along the vineyards.)

The house is spacious and very clean. You have many rooms to use for eating, talking, sitting around, playing games, all filled with vibrant artwork--and then you have the large outdoor deck, and big, clean hot tub. Or the above ground pool and long fenced yard.

Our dog was in heaven, between the fenced yard and the long walks we took along the vineyards and dry creek. We were grateful that the owners were so dog-welcoming, as long as your pup is friendly with the two cats who live outside the house.

We split this vacation between using the house as a home base (for a wedding across the road) and a cocoon. Everything feels so warm and inviting that we would have been just as happy staying secluded for a romantic weekend or longer.

Practical notes: the air conditioning works well, even during hot spells. We actually opened our master bedroom windows at night and were plenty cool. So don't be afraid of the Hopland temperatures.

The house is at the very back end of a working vineyard and artisan olive oil center. To get to the house, you'll drive through the working yard of Terra Savia and down a long gravel road past the vineyards. We found the equipment and smells and activity fascinating--you are in the real deal. But the house is so far away that you can't smell or hear anything besides the vines and the birds.

We'd love to come back during the crush, or when they are making olive oil. Our dog is already packed.
