About the Property
2 Bedroom, 1 Bath Fully Self Contained Cabana On One Acre Within Eco Village
Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck watching the howler monkeys play in the trees or just watch and listen to the sounds and life of the natural jungle around you. Located in the foothills of the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest, with the majestical Macal River just down the road, you're in a nature lover's and adventurist's paradise.
Walk or bike the local trails, explore the local village permaculture garden 'Fluttery Finca'. Our community is a bird watcher's paradise. It's home to hundreds of birds, and jungle wildlife. You'll see possums, bats, butterflies, howler monkeys, toucans, tapirs, ocelots, white hawks, toucans and parrots. Down at the Macal river you can just relax and swim or dive off the rocks. Take a canoe or kayak ride, or charter the local Belizean pontoon boat to explore the three local waterfalls. You can hike and swim the waterfalls, or watch and enjoy. Spot the iguanas. Watch white hawks flying overhead. You might even see the resident crocodile!
Our modern cabin comes fully equipped for all your needs - 2 good sized bedrooms with comfortable new beds, linens provided, towels, hot shower, fully equipped kitchen with gas stove and fridge, Berkie water filter, fan, and more. Experience complete off grid living powered with solar. In the local area, you can explore mayan caves and ruins, go cave-tubing, go horseback riding, zip-lining and more.
In the nearby towns of Benque and San Ignacio, take a yoga class, go shopping, visit the outdoor markets, eat fine food, and enjoy the local entertainment. Stay for a week or inquire about special monthly rates. We can help you arrange any of your needs for your stay, car rentals, where to shop, and tour packages too.

- The cabin sits on a one acre lot. We recently installed a zip line in the yard and a slack line can also be setup. This is a great location for children with the large private yard. My hosts, Anna and Barry, are residents of the village and also operate a tour company, and can help you plan activities and outings to many of the local attractions and adventures....moreless

Enjoy the mighty Macal River ... take a pontoon boat ride operated by a local Belizean company "La Capitana" and visit 3 fantastic waterfalls, or spend some lazy days just swimming by the river.
Just down the road from our village you can take a horseback riding tour of the mountains and take in the view from the mountain tops. In town (just 10 miles away), take in the Xunantuich mayan ruins, go river tubing, zip lining, or any of the activities offered by local tour companies.

About: From Saskatoon, Canada
Why Cayo, Belize:
Where I live, the winters are long and cold. I have travelled to may countries in the world but had never considered purchasing a vacation property until I found this eco village in Belize. It has taught me the value of conservative off grid living. When I found this eco village I immediate fell in love with the surrounding jungle natural, beautiful and filled with life different from my home in Canada.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The cabana is nestled into a private one acre lot. Enjoy the natural jungle around you with the modern conveniences within the cabin.
