We go to Pemaquid every year, and this was the best spot I have had. Right on the water it was fabulous to be able to stay here and Jennifer is a wonderful host. Highly recommend.
The location and view was beautiful. The house was cute and met most of our needs. Only complaint was the grill, but we notified the owner so hopefully that can be improved for future guests.
What a gorgeous spot! Even though it rained all weekend we had a wonderful stay. We loved sitting on the enclosed porch and watching the surf. Overall a very relaxing and comfortable cottage. We hope to come back!
The location of the cottage is great. It is less than a mile from Pemaquid Point beach. The beach is fairly small and was pretty quiet even when we visited it on hot days. The views from the backyard were very pretty especially at sunset.
Loved the location on Pemaquid point. Nice to have a bonfire on the shore and the weather cleared for a beautiful sunset on our last night. Jenifer was always responsive to our questions and needs. Don’t miss the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. Beautiful views and interesting museum.
What a spot! Loved, loved, loved this sweet little cottage by the sea. Amazing views, sounds of crashing surf out the windows, and all the comforts of home. This place is clearly loved & well cared for, and has lots of small touches that made our stay enjoyable—firepit, picnic table, propane grill, a well-stocked kitchen (pots, pans, Tupperware, utensils, sharp knives!). Jennifer was a wonderful host, very welcoming and helpful. Would jump at the chance to stay here again!
Jennifer's cottage is truly a Sea Glass Beach Retreat.
It was so comfortable inside the cottage and outside the oceanfront views are awesome--Picture perfect sunsets, sailboats sailing out to the Atlantic, lobster boats checking their traps, and sealife greeting us daily -- seals and loons were a delight.
This property provided everything you need for the perfect Maine family vacation. Perfect location on the water in a very quiet neighborhood. Lovely simply stated home with everything you need to meet ones needs on the Maine coast. Easy access to Pemaquid light and beach. New Harbor is a picturesque harbor town that provides a grocery store with all your needs, lobster co-op, ice cream stand and the art co-op with many treasures made by the hands of local artisans. I have been coming to Maine for 50 years and stayed up and down the entire coast. I have found my new favorite place to stay and look forward to my return.
This is am amazing property me and my husband shared on our honeymoon. Great views quite location near great places to visit easy to use kitchen can't wait to go back
My family could not have been any happier on our 3 night stay here. We enjoyed the beautiful ocean views and walks along the beach. The cottage has everything we could have asked for (and more). This is our favorite area to visit along the Maine coast and can't wait to return for an even longer stay next year. It's located just an hour from where my family lives, but it's a different world!
We enjoyed our stay so much we want to book again! It’s the perfect spot❤️
This property is by far one of the best! The location is wonderful and the owner has thought of everything! The beds are super comfortable! Spending time on the beach is the perfect pass time looking for sea glass ! Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will be back!
Property it was excellent. Host was extremely communicative. Even recommended some nice restaurants in the area. Excellent get away with some very neat history.
Jennifer was so accommodating. Her clear and quick responses to my inquiries were great! No surprises!! The place is fabulous ! anyone would love it there ! The sunsets are out of this world! The stars are amazing! It’s so quiet , away from everything but close enough to do things if you want.
The location is excellent, private beach, many wild life preserves for hiking within a 20 minute drive. The cottage is cozy, albeit a bit outdated. The bed is a full size bed, not a queen and is on the firm side, if you like that. All in all, the location is what makes this place excellent, which is really why we come to Maine. Jennifer was very easy to work with and we appreciate the history behind this special place.
Awesome views! Loved sitting in the Adirondack chairs watching the boats and the waves. And on the clear nights, more stars than I've ever seen before. Great local hikes, delicious lobster and friendly people. It was a great week 😊
Communication with Jennifer was very easy and she was very accommodating. The location is amazing, we enjoyed the garden a lot, especially the fire pit during sunset.
The house is good and as described. The porch, converted into a room, is great to read while looking out to the sea. My only suggestion would be to get a bigger bed in the main bedroom.
There are nice places to eat nearby and well stocked grocery store as well.
Overall, great place to stay!!
We enjoyed this lovely cottage and the outstanding views of the ocean. Gorgeous sunsets! The cottage is close to the beach, grocery store, lighthouse, restaurants, and boat rides.
The owner was easy to contact for questions.
This is a peaceful, small cottage that provided the relaxing atmosphere we were looking for. Each morning we were greeted by the sounds of the lobster fishermen working offshore and each evening we were treated to a spectacular display of the milky way and constellations. The view from the cottage is spectacular and mesmerizing. The furniture in the cottage is comfortable to lounge on, and the cable/internet service was very good, allowing us to easily map out our adventures with online resources. Our complaints are small: (1) The old drip coffee maker did not work so we wound up using it like a Chemex coffee maker, boiling water and manually pouring the water over the grounds (N.B. a Keurig coffee maker is also supplied), (2) the power cord to the Kirby vacuum cleaner has a couple of worn spots that expose the power wires that delivered quite an unwelcome jolt when the cord was handled in the wrong place (we bought some electrical tape to cover the worn spots so we could use it worry-free and so the next guests do not have the same shocking experience).

About the host
Hosted by Jennifer Mitchell
Born in Maine, I am the 3rd generation to own this spectacular cottage along John's Bay on the desirable Pemaquid Trail. The location was picked by my great Aunt who built the home after serving in the war as a nurse. I have fond memories of visiting my Aunt and my mother who lived year-round at the home. As a child, I would spend hours collecting sea glass on the private beach just 50 feet from the porch. Finding nuggets of blue sea glass is still a find today. Our children are now spending time at the cottage during the summer and have fallen witness to “the way life should be” - a far cry from our normal life in Silicon Valley, California.
Why they chose this property
Generations have had the opportunity to enjoy this cottage by the water. It's a bonus that I have to opportunity to share it with others - creating memories to pass along for families near and far.
What makes this property unique
You can't beat the view! From the front porch, you are 50 feet from your own private pebble beach. The sunsets are gorgeous - but don't just take our word for it - experience it! Watch the lobsterman haul in their traps while drinking your morning coffee or picnicking at the picnic table.
