Just walking around our Palermo Vacation Rental. 1: What in the morning?

Start your itinerary in the heart of the old city center, at Quattro Canti, a square that has four magnificent eighteenth-century palaces with convex façades looking down onto it. From there you can walk to Piazza Pretoria where you can see the famous fountain and the Municipal building.

From here go on to Via Vittorio Emanuele and by bus or walking go to the Cathedral Square. After admiring this splendid piece of architecture and the treasures kept inside it, go on to (by bus or taxi) the majestic Palazzo dei Normanni and another time dedicate your attention to the Cappella Palatina, one of the most beautiful churches in the world.

When time for lunch arrives, have a rest and choose one of the restaurants in Palermo in this area. Try some local Palermo dish, such as 'pasta con le sarde', and then try some 'caponata' and finish off with a swordfish and mint roulade.

Just walking around our Palermo Vacation Rental. 2: What in the afternoon?

Dedicate this part of the day to discovering Arabic Palermo, mostly concentrated in our quarter, the Kalsa. The true heart of the Kalsa is the square that carries the same name, surrounded by splendid buildings such as Palazzo Abatellis and Palazzo Torremuzza and Palazzo Mirto. But don't forget to visit the wonderful Museo delle Marionette that is nearby, near Piazza Santo Spirito, that you can walk to from Palazzo Abbatellis.

Just walking around our Palermo Vacation Rental. 3: What in the evening?

An exotic cocktail in an Arabic-style wine bar, a fresh fish-based dinner washed down with good Sicilian wine, a romantic walk along the seafront or a charming dip in the nightly atmosphere of a concert played in the Spasimo, in his large nave open to the sky and his large side chapels in Northern Gothic style.

And then a well-earned rest in our nice, cozy, comfortable holiday apartment in Palermo to recover your tired legs.

About Pietro

Hi, my name is Pietro, I'm 47 years old living in Palermo, a sunny city of Art in the beatiful island of Sicily (Italy).

My wife Simona and I have bought a little but cozy and spacious loft that we rent to people looking for a welcoming apartment for holidays or business in any period of the year.

We take pride to fournish tastefully our loft; it has hardwood floors both in the living area and bedroom loft above, ceiling vaulted with traditional log beams and wood decking, a well equipped and modern kitchen, with also a clothes washer, and comfortable furniture like the wardrobe closets and built in drawers just off the bath.

We are responsive to any of our renters needs and we do our best to make pleasant their stay in our apartment.

We are waiting for you!

Pietro purchased this apartment in 2004

Modern and spacious apartment, good location!

  • 5 of 5

It's a modern and spacious apartment in historical (bit rough, but safe) district of Palermo. There are few shops nearby and small street market. Good location, close to the seashore and free bus.

Location, Location, Location!!!

  • 5 of 5

If you truly want to experience the Sicilian way of life this is definitively the PERFECT place!

My husband and I rented this apartment for 3 months as a home base to explore Palermo and Sicily. The location was awesome – the area is charming and fascinating and within walking distance of all the major sights and markets. The apartment had everything we needed to feel at home - besides the (obvious) décor, furnishings and the comfy bed, there was loads of storage space, lots of coat hangers, a full sized fridge, and a drying rack for laundry ( those little touches can make such a difference to your comfort level!) The neighborhood felt very safe and it was so much fun to shop at the street markets and be able to cook our own meals. There are lots of restaurants and bars nearby for the lazy days, and we had lots of those!

Pietro and his wife went out of their way to help us, we are so grateful to them and we will never forget their kindness.

Owner's Response: Having Joy and Norman in our apartment for three months it was a real pleasure. Each owner would like to have hosts as Joy and Norman. Simona and I will remember their politeness, their kindness and their respect for our apartment and for neighbourhood. When they lived our house even for short periods they didn’t miss to communicate it to us. And once come back they told with enthusiasm what they had visited around our beautiful Sicily. We’ll hope to have them again in our holiday rental. Pietro & Simona

We really loved this apartment. The place is fully equip with all your cooking needs and plenty of towels/blankets. We loved that we could also do laundry. We were able to park right out front because it is on a side street just down from the beach. There is a Carrefour nearby as well. Highly recommend!

Great location in Old Town Palermo

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights, and enjoyed the break from hotels. We did laundry and had the chance to cook our own meals. Nice market walking distance. Close to two beautiful gardens, as well as the sea side promenade. If you want to see more of the city, there are 3-wheeler open-air"taxis" that will give you a hair-raising trip around town. The apartment was clean and comfortable, but you have to be willing to walk up 3 flights of stairs. We arrived by train, and had Pietro arrange for a car to be waiting for us. It was worth the 10 E since we would never have found the place trying to walk with luggage. Once you are shown where it is located down a narrow, dead end street, you will have no problems. I would always look for the Virgin Mary shrine on the wall to remember where to turn! If you rent a car, traffic is almost as crazy as Naples, but just be strong of heart. One last tip, remember to bring your own soap. Towels are provided, but not soap for the bath.

Owner's Response: I thank Vicky very much for her review. It's very important for me to get the opinions of my guests. I apologize for the lack of soap, it was an oversight. I will take care not to forget it in the future. Pietro

Terrific apartment in great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is well represented by the photographs and the description. The one thing missing that would have made a difference would be internal wi-fi. The neighborhood is exciting and historic, close to the sea, restaurants, music and walkable to Palermo's historic sites for good walkers. The owner provides excellent information about the area. He offers a transfer service from the airport to the apartment, which was very helpful and got us off to a good start.

Owner's Response: We are pleased to inform that internal wi-fi in our vacation apartment is working in progress since some weeks. It doesn't work yet because of a technical problem of the Provider. We expect to solve it in a few days in order to add this service for our guests. Sincerely Pietro

Great appartment, great location.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our 10 day day in Palermo. The appartment was quite nice and well equipped with everything we needed. The apt is only a few blocks from the seawall and a block from a fruits and veggie market and a couple seafood restaurants.

The only issue we had with the appartment was meeting up for the keys. We got in to Palermo at 6pm and we were told they couldn't get us the keys till 8pm. We had to hang out in a nearby cafe with all our luggage for 2 hrs which was a little troublesome.
