About Barbara Bass
We are both from North Carolina and live in Wilmington. We have 4 grown children and love to travel.
Barbara Bass purchased this Townhome in 2011
Why Barbara Bass chose Carolina Beach
We recently downsized our home in Wilmington and wanted a place to escape for long weekends and to be our 'extra bedrooms' for family visits. Just the quick trip across the bridge seems to come with a change in attitude. It creates a vacation while still essentially at home.

Fantastic 4 days!
This was probably one of the best vacation rentals we have been to in a while. It was well stocked and felt like home. The location is super convenient to beach access, restaurants, stores, pizza, ice cream etc. Only negative is that the wifi didn't work well... if that had been better I would give 5 stars.
We are sorry to hear the Wifi was not working well. Had we known we would have corrected. We have never had any complaints about the Wifi and we have had a number of guests working via Wifi for work.
Beautiful spacious house perfect for our bachelorette party
The hospitality was amazing and the host was very responsive to our requests and questions. We had a great time!
Great place to stay in Carolina Beach.
We stayed in this condo with our family of five and two grandparents and had plenty of room. The beach is a short walk across the street and Britt's Doughnuts is close by. The condo is clean, there's plenty of seating in the living room, and the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, and serving platters. The beds are comfortable and it's nice to have linen service included. There are 4 adult sized bikes for renters to use and we enjoyed riding them in the neighborhood next door. There was a minor problem with the dishwasher and dryer but they still worked and I'm sure they will be completely fixed very soon. The property manager is easy to contact and very pleasant. We would stay here again.
Great home for a family vacation
We rented this home site unseen and couldn't be happier. It provided a perfect layout and the space for us and my son's family with two small children. It included all that we needed for cooking, sleeping and beach supplies. Barbara, the Property Mgr was wonderfully helpful and went beyond her duties to text us daily happenings in the area.
One thing to note - the grill is a very small propane tank type which is a
challenge. We had to scramble to get matches and it kept going out. The size of the home and cost should include a full size gas grill.
Perfect for a family wanting to stay close to the ocean
We have stayed in condos by the beach before but his one was absolutely wonderful!! It had everything we needed even if we forgot something, no need to worry it was most likely there :) The only thing I might suggest would be to have the satellite tv available in the room with the daybed but besides that there was nothing to complain about. The owners were very accomdating as well!!
Lovely home in a great location!
The owner is wonderful!
Carolina Beach is a small community working hard to expand it's welcome as a family vacation spot. The Boardwalk features weekly summer fireworks, regular live entertainment, and an amusement park each summer w/ rides, games, and carnival food. At the lake you can find the weekly Saturday Farmer's Market, kid friendly outside movies, and paddle-boats. There are sometimes special events, including an annual fundraiser for animal adoption, chowder cook-off, etc.. Walk across the street and throw in a line for surf fishing (license required, pretty cheap) or book an offshore trip from the marina. Stop by one of the tackle shops or the Kure Beach Pier to see what is biting. You can take your 4-wheel drive on Freeman Park or rent a golf cart and explore the area. The choice of local restaurants grows each season. The Boardwalk features Britt's Doughnuts (a local favorite!) and several bars, including the Silver Dollar, often w/ live local bands. Food choices range from Seafood, Mexican, Italian, Thai, Southern, Sushi, and sandwiches. A quick drive to Wilmington will give even more options, including some excellent 'foodie' selections. We LOVE to eat and can give some great suggestions! (Local Seafood restaurants good for fried, OK for other, but for the best choices head into town.) Take the quick drive to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher, Historic Downtown Wilmington, Jungle Rapids Waterpark, Ride the Riverboat, or see see one of multiple local live theater groups. You might even notice some locations from 'Hollywood East,' home of TV shows Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, Revolution, Under the Dome, the pilot for Revenge, Sleepy Hollow, and IRON MAN 3. You might run into a 'Star' at dinner or even in the grocery store. Have a great stay!!
