Cozy Cabin, clean and nice.
I had 8 people stay in the cabin and it was great!! Everything was clean when we came in. If you're looking for a place to stay in Lewiston I highly recommend it. The owner if the property was very prompt in contacting me when I submitted a request to stay. Got my code in advance as well.
Had an excellent stay...the house was very clean and neat. Everything worked out just as the owner said, and we would definitely stay here again.
Absolutely great place to stay!
We had a wonderful week with our daughter and two grand children! The place was immaculate, and provided most everything you could think you would need. We actually took way more things with us then needed! Plenty of room for the kids to play indoors and out. Loved the patio and cooking out on the grill while watching the golfers play thru. The only thing I would have them change/fix, would be putting a better inside lock on the door that toddlers couldn't reach. Even just a chain lock or sliding lock. Our 3yr old granddaughter kept trying to bolt out without an adult. Of course we were vigilant and didn't have a problem but would have been a bit more relaxing without the worry. Also might want to bring a child gate for the stairs if you have a crawling child wanting to brave the stairs! We just put two of the kitchen chairs in front of them and she couldn't get thru. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with several lakes close by for swimming and fishing and of course the lovely town of Lewiston for shopping and dining. Thank you so much for making our visit with our local family so much more relaxing and comfortable than usual!
Great 2 week stay
We stayed 2 weeks and found the cottage exactly as described. Well equipped, clean, great views from deck. The owner is great to deal with. Be sure to bring your own bar soap and shampoo. The furniture on the 1st floor is "up north" rustic so don't plan on a rainy day nap on a comfortable couch. Cell phone coverage is very limited in the cottage area. Garland offers complimentary driving range, 9 hole putting course, tennis courts, pool, wifi etc. with a very friendly staff. Nearby restaurants include The Lodge, best food and menu, Redwood Steak House, great salad bar, The Villager for breakfast. Tally's log cabin bar is a long time local hangout, good for burgers and beer but don't miss Ma Deeter's, in Luzerne, for local flavor. Great Walleye and prime rib specials at $10.00 as well as lighter fare. Glenn's Market is good for groceries but the Lewiston Bakery, on the north side of Main St., is the best for homemade bread and sweets. Easy drive to Gaylord, Traverse City/Leland, Mackinac Island etc. Canoeing/Kayaking on the Ausable River is good at Mio and Gaylord, great at Roscommon. Less challenging golf is available at a well maintained 9 hole course in Fairview, just north of Mio. $15.00 includes cart and tax. Great place to stay, will stay again.
Best Vacation Ever
Our family had the best time on our first trip up north. The cottage was very clean and the view from the deck was gorgeous! My husband, father and daughter had the BEST time golfing at the four golf courses. Took my mother to the Maple Valley Riding Stables and we had a blast! For only $12 an hour we took a beautiful horseback tour. I would definitely recommend staying here!
We had a wonderful time at the Golf Cottage. Everything was clean, the view was terrific, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well supplied. We spent 4 nights in the cottage and wish we could have stayed longer. Returning to Kansas and the 100 degree weather has not been fun. We enjoyed watching the chipmunks and other wildlife from the deck. Highly recommend this rental and if you are a golfer you will love the Garland golf courses. The only downside is that our cell phones (t-mobile) did not work in the cottage and the only wifi available is over at the lodge. Hope to return soon. Thanks.
