This two bedroom unit is one of three in this beach triplex - although you would never guess that it is attached! The feel inside if that of a mountain cabin - except for the ocean breeze and magnificent view. Its the perfect place for a family vacation or personal retreat. Visit the sister unit on this property VRBO #234391 and rent both units for a group vacation!

Please note that as of October 2017, we do not have parking for this property as the City of Encinitas has claimed the parking strip to create a sidewalk.

Enjoy the amazing sunsets and ocean view while dining or while relaxing in the living room in front of the large picture windows - or while eating outside on the private deck with an unobstructed ocean view. Or just hang out in the very private backyard/patio area.

One bedroom has a queen size bed and opens out through large sliding doors into the yard area. The other bedroom has 2 twin beds. There is also a very comfortable inflatable bed for extra sleeping accomodations.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need for cooking and/or entertaining.

We are close to everything in Encinitas! We can walk down to Moonlight Beach, or just enjoy the view of the ocean and the ocean breeze from the comfort of our deck - which is huge! We can walk right across the street to the public tennis courts or up to the flea market or any of the many restaurants or the local theater, the La Paloma. The Del Mar Race track is near by and just a couple of miles straight up the street is all the shopping you could need. Not to mention the Coaster stops just a few blocks away in case we want to take a little trip into San Diego.

About The Owner

We have had many years of wonderful times here in Encinitas. Our place has been a gathering place for barbeques, parties, and respite for all of our family. This property has been in our family since 1971.

The Owner purchased this house in 1971

Why The Owner chose Encinitas

My parents bought the property back when Encinitas was truly a small surf haven. The family has been coming down ever since and loving every minute of it!

What makes this house unique

We love sitting watching the ocean while our morning coffee or sipping a glass wine in the evening watching the sunset from our own private deck.

My husband and I love that we can walk our dogs to restaurants or through the park across the street or to any place we might want to go while we're here.

And its wonderful when other family members want to come down - they can stay in the other unit on the property and we can all be together but separate! The other unit is #234391 - in case you want an extended family vacation.

My husband and I love staying here!!

We have stayed here for 4 years in the winter and will return. Property is about 2 blocks to town center with its shops, restaurants & bars. It’s walkable to 3 main beaches so walking on the sand to get to them is extremely pleasant. However, it’s only 1 l/2 blocks to Moonlight Beach that has a playground, volleyball courts, rentals, showers & a concession stand that is open in the summer. There are many places to eat within l/2-2 blocks including an ice cream shop just around the corner. The 3 decks provide ample room for entertaining but the view of the ocean & Moonlight Beach is the best feature. The owner, Carol, and manager, Jackie, are extremely helpful and wonderful people. The inside of property is always very clean, homey and comfortable with a lot of windows for ample light.

A commuter train station is within a couple of blocks if you want to take the train to San Diego or points north. Just bring your suitcase for a fun stay.

Comfortable Lodging with Many Amenities

This was my first stay at this vrbo. It provided me comfortable lodging for seven days. It was clean. It had many amenities for cooking in the kitchen. It was nicely decorated. The two drawbacks for me was being about a 1/3 block off highway 101 and two blocks from the railroad tracks. Parking was the second drawback. I was unable to park in the garage due to the slant of the garage floor. Jackie the caretaker moved his car so I could park on the street so that worked for the first night, but all the other nights except the last one, when I got lucky to park there again I had to find parking on a busy street due to it's location two blocks from Moonlight Beach. I didn't feel comfortable parking in front of the drive way as I did not know if the city had an ordinance like our does that you cannot park in front of a would get a ticket if you did. I think the owner did what she could with trying to accommodate a need to park somewhere. Unfortunately it is the location that is the issue for parking comfortably without worrying if the 2 hr limit will effect you during your time at the vrbo.

Owner's Response: Yes, it is unfortunate that the City has taken away our parking after 45 years. I guess this is what happens when a quaint beach town begins to grow quickly. The 2 hour parking limit is only on one side of the street, but again it is unfortunate. We come during all times of the year and have no problem parking but sometimes we do have to walk a block. I wish there was more that we could do.

this was our second stay this property, and it was just as great as our first stay. the location is unbeatable, both carol and jackie were very helpful, and the property was clean and well-provisioned. we would not hesitate to recommend this property to others, and plan on returning ourselves.

Perfect Location!

This was our second stay at this perfect property. Location, location, location! Less than two blocks from Moonlight Beach and an easy walk into Encinitas for shopping and dining. We love the attention to every detail Carol has taken to make sure everyone's stay here is the best it can be. With two outdoor patio's, its perfect for our family gatherings. Easy access to the highway made getting in and out a breeze when venturing out to other areas of San Diego. This place has a comfy and serene vibe and feels like home. We're looking forward to next year!

I shouldn't be telling you this but....

This vacation rental is our yearly get away and family secret. We've stayed three years now and plan on returning again. We actually go with another family who have been renting the adjoining property for years also. We finally listened to them, rented, and fell in love. We (adults) hit the beach daily, walk to dinner, walk to drinks and even go nearby farmers markets. The kids love the beach, play tennis, and have even camped outdoors on the deck. Amazing stay in Encinitas

This was a perfect location for our family with young children. We walked everyday to Moonlight Beach to enjoy the playground and beach area with the kids. Dining places were within a block walk and downtown Encinitas is a short walk away. The property was perfect for our travel needs. Not having to share a 1 bedroom hotel with the kids was nice since they had their own room. Carol has this place stocked with everything that you need as a home away from home and she was very responsive with all inquiries leading up to the trip. Jackie is quite the lively character who welcomed us the property and generously showed us around.

Our family was sad to return home from this mini beach paradise and we look forward to our return trip. To think that Encinitas was on a whim from a friend's suggestion (we typically head to San Diego) this was a perfect trip and we look forward to returning.
