Point of View cabin - 3 Bedrooms + pull out sofa, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)
Enjoy long-range spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains at “Point of View” in Banner Elk, NC. This elegant cabin is located near the very top of Beech Mountain, one mile away from Fred’s General Store, and two miles away from Beech ski resort. Beech Mountain is the highest town in the eastern United States at 5500 feet. The home is roughly 3000 square feet (with finished basement) and includes three bedrooms (King bed, King bed, 2 single beds, and a pull out Queen sized sleeper sofa in lower family room.) Awaken to gorgeous mountain views and relax by the sizzling hot tub. Go hiking, skiing, zip lining, rafting, shopping, fishing, tubing, antiquing, and more. Then, cozy up by the gas fireplace, play a game of foosball, view the stars, play a tune on the old piano, or enjoy grilling a meal on the expansive deck. Point of View is secluded and private, yet close to town. Without the road's privacy gate, the street would be a tourist haven as the views are breathtaking all along the way. Grandfather Mountain, Boone, Foscoe, Valle Crucis, Sugar Mountain, Blowing Rock and Linville are close to the home/Banner Elk.
Point of View surrounds you with comfort on all three levels. The lower level has a family room that contains a queen pull out sleeper sofa, private level entrance, stairs to middle floor, and one full private bathroom. The main level has a large family room, dining area, kitchen, fireplace, bedroom (king), another bedroom (two singles) and one bath. The upstairs is the master loft (king) with a sitting area that overlooks the family room and mountain views. It has a large bathroom and separate small balcony/deck.
Point of View offers free wifi for guests as well as clean linens. Taxes are included in rental rates.

We have enjoyed the mountains as a quiet, relaxing retreat for many years of our marriage. This home was our favorite home that we stayed in for its gorgeous views and mile high tranquility. When we noticed it was listed for sale, we decided to purchase it. Now, we hope to share it with others and offer them the same great experiences.
Deborah purchased this House in 2002
Why Deborah chose Shawneehaw
We chose to purchase this home over the others mainly for the views and the quaint feel. I am a sucker for a sunset and one of the first sunsets won hands down as being the prettiest I had ever seen. With the wooden interior walls and ceiling, we liked that it felt like a rustic mountain home. The cool summer was ideal for us. The open deck with the hot tub was a factor in our decision because I prefer to feel a little sunshine while I soak or even view the stars, which wouldn't work on a covered deck. The lot was not as steep as many others. I liked the paved driveway. I liked the big wooden island in the kitchen and the rock floors. We enjoyed the privacy of the home with the established trees.... yet close to town. And, last but not least, we liked the area and people of Banner Elk. Now, I can't imagine being any where else when I think of going on a retreat. We love Point of View!

My wife and I took a last minute get away. The house is really neat with the open chalet style and loft master. It is perched on the side of the mountain in a small private gaited community although you really can't see the neighbors. Overall the house is comfortable and well appointed for an older vacation home. The hot tub was very nice and well maintained. It is actually much closer to Beach Mountain than Banner Elk. Beach Mountain has a lot to offer with several restaurants and a general store. The owner and her house manager are very accessible and nice.
We had a wonderful time. The house is convenient to beech or sugar mountain for skiing. The hot tub was such an awesome feature. We used it everyday and evening. Beds were comfy and the view was amazing. The owner was very responsive and helpful if things came up during our stay. I would definitely stay here again!
Next time, I’d bring a better skillet and a cookie sheet. I think the cooking options in the kitchen need to be looked at as we were frequently using random items to fit the bill, otherwise perfect!
Terrific Mountain getaway!
Point of View and the owner, do not disappoint. We were three couples who all thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. Everything we needed was provided as described. Deborah was quick to respond to my emails. The checkout list was the shortest and easiest we have ever had with our many rentals. Highly recommend!
Beautiful home and views
Expectations were high and met!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this cozy, comfy, and inviting house! The view is totally amazing from inside and on the deck! It was our second time here, and it was just as magical this year. We love the peace and serenity...the perfect mountain getaway! We hope to return next summer for even longer if possible.
Lovely view, comfortable house. Plan to come back for a week again next summer!
