The property terrain is grass and trees -great for running around and playing games, etc. The best part of the day is when the sun is setting and you are relaxing on the stone patio and lawn overlooking the lake and listening for the loons while you're grilling supper.
This cabin is a year-round home complete with 3 bedrooms (1King/2 twins/1 with room for blow up mattress or portable crib), full kitchen and furnace. The gorgeous bathroom is newly remodeled with tile and large shower. The full basement is great for parking, Storing kayaks and fishing gear and has full size washer and dryer. High-speed internet access, TV, DVD and excellent cell phone reception. Nearby are hiking trails and a swimming ledge for sunbathing. Access to 2 kayaks with accessories are included so you can go for a family outing (each will fit one adult and one child). We hope you enjoy this perfect spot and get the rest and leisure time you’ve been looking for!
What makes Lake St. George so special is its secluded, yet central location in mid-coast Maine, only minutes from the ocean -- 20 minutes from historic coastal Belfast, 45 mins. from Augusta to west and Camden/Rockport to east, Damariscotta to south, and only 30 mins. south to Blueberry Pie at Moody's Diner and the awesome gourmet delights at Morse's Deli! The lake is rated second in Maine for water quality--our lake association pays close attention to every boat at the public launch! You'll find a few casual local hangouts for dinner or take-out, John’s famous and delicious homemade ice cream 3 mins away...and there's always pick-up groceries, pizza or movie rentals at the local gas station! Fine dining is as close as Lincolnville, and great shopping/art/culture in Camden/Rockport! Fun day trips include north to Acadia and Bar Harbor, or south to Freeport, Boothbay, Pemaquid Beach, Monhegan Island, etc. The ocean isn't far at all, if you can drag yourself away from the lake!

About Tara Marple
I live in California with my 11 yr old son but grew up in Liberty, Maine. Here in CA, I manage a health and nutrition facility (www.intentio.com), and work very hard to be able to come to Maine every season.
Tara Marple purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Tara Marple chose Liberty
It is the perfect spot! Close to places to eat and to the coast, but also quiet and friendly. There are toiletries, linens, curling iron, blow dryer and all kitchen appliances included.
What makes this Cabin unique
I really enjoy this home - I have traveled quite a bit and I think this is the most perfect spot I have ever visited. My family lives in Maine so I get to see them and enjoy the lake with my 13 nieces and nephews as well as my son. There are special things about each part of the day - the sun shining on the lake and into my living room, eating breakfast at the table and watching this is heaven. Also the moon in the evening shines so brightly while I listen to the loons and the crickets. Sometimes at night, I can hear the neighbor's horses running wild. At sunset, this location is still enjoying the sun for an hour or so after the rest of the camps because of the higher location. After supper we go to John's ice cream and rush back to sit on the grass and enjoy the peace. I love to go running on the dirt road and hiking up the mountain and my son loves to fish and kayak, while exploring the mini islands in the lake. I once swam across the whole lake on a kickboard and he cheered me on! There is plenty of space for kids to run around on the grass and there is also a horseshoe pit and stone fire pit. The best, most relaxing fun you'll ever have.

Wonderful weekend spent on the lake
We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. Everything was provided, and very clean. We enjoyed watching the sunrise over the lake. A weekend isn't long enough!
We went away with the guys for a fishing weekend. The house was perfect. It was right on the lake and had everything we needed!
It was a great week
The camp was beautiful and clean. The View was great and the whole experience was very relaxing.
It was very nice
It was a very nice stay wish we had longer everything was provided it was excellent loved the lake it was beautiful kayaking the lake was great the only thing I would change is a bigger out door grill was hard to cook on but all and all it was a great 4 days
Wonderful time, as always. :)
As always, it was a great time. Love that there are two kyaks and a paddle board a ail able for use plus extra life jackets. One toddler size with crotch strap, two young child size, and various adult sizes. One of the best locations on the lake. The Sherman camp road is a friendly but quiet place. The camp lot is large with a fire pit and new outdoor lounge chairs, grill, etc... buy your own fire wood before you get there. It isn't provided. Lots of condiments in camp as well so I would see what is there before you go buy a ton like we did. Although that is convenient, we are weird about using open condiments not knowing how long they've been there so I would recommend they hang a black sharpie from the fridge so you can write the opened date on the bottles. We used the available green sharpie to do that but it was hard to see. I think they should thin out the supply a bit too before people get there. There were 3 bottles of ketchup, two things of mayo, etc...it was pretty crowded in the fridge door.
Looks like they are doing some updating so the crown moulding was partially down but it may look good when they are done.
Glad they have a stationary bike there. My husband used it since he has a big bike race coming up and was worried his legs wouldnt be ready. It's certainly better than doing nothing for a week! Overall, I would recommend to anyone! :) Enjoy your stay!
Nice location. House needs work
Very nice location. Quiet. House needs some maintenance. Refrigerator and cupboards could be cleaned out some.
Lake St George is one of the most beautiful and cleanest lakes in the country. There are many islands and shorelines to explore. Liberty is about 25 minutes from the ocean. Belfast and Camden are fun and quaint towns to hang out in and have great food. Camden has gorgeous sailboats for sunset sails. July is berry season and about 30 minutes away is self pick fields, or roadside stands along Rte 3. About 5 minutes drive is the State Park where there is a boat launch and a lifeguard/picnic park. A very fun area to embrace summer!
