Great Property

The property was great. Spacious, well furnished, clean, close to the main street. Easy access to shopping, transportation. The manager was easy to reach and very helpful. The building was very secure with a gated entry, alarmed building at night. The gardens are absolutely beautiful on the property. I will most definitely stay here again.

Love Ecuador!!!

We loved our stay here in Cotacachi. Primavera is a nice complex but very, very noisy at times; church bells, roosters, singing garbage trucks, traffic noise and especially the restaurant next door, but it's all part of the adventure. It is a great location for walking everywhere though. If you like to watch TV in the evenings, be sure to bring a Fire Stick as the programing is terrible otherwise. If we hadn't met some other people who live here, who graciously invited us to their home to watch the Super Bowl....we would have missed it. (national disaster!!!) The unit is very nicely decorated and furnished. The beds are quite comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The sunroom is an excellent place to read and relax. About the only problem we had was communication with the property owner. I asked questions about internet and TV months before we came and none of them were answered. I finally had help from a Cotacachi ex-pat Facebook page. Local expats here advised me who to contact for taxi pick up in Quito and how to get in touch with the local manager here, Raphael. Otherwise we would have been in a pickle. The owner did finally contact me to say she had not received any of my messages. Not sure who is a fault here...the owner or Home Away but it could have been a real mess if I hadn't taken it upon myself to figure things out. By the way, Raphael, the local manager here is wonderful. He was very helpful and speaks excellent English. We are anxious to return to Ecuador next year. Our Happy Place!

Fantastic condo.

We stayed in this unit for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it. The condo is in a secure and quiet complex that is right in town, but feels like it's in the country. The yard is full of fruit trees, a vegetable garden and is really nice to sit out and enjoy the surroundings. The condo is tastefully appointed with comfortable furniture, great wifi and even a smart TV. The only thing we would change, if this were our unit, is the mattresses. They were just a bit hard for our liking. A small price to pay for such a great living space. We would definitely stay again. The property managers were very helpful, even unlocking the unit within 10 minutes, after we locked ourselves out. Thanks Joe.

Excellent location

Beautifully furnished, very conveniently located. Very spacious, beautiful views. Very secure with beautiful landscaping, including a vegetable and herb garden. Jim, the property manager, was very helpful when we moved in. He showed us around the condo and gave us some good suggestions for what to do while we were there. The only negative was that with my bad back I didn't find the couches and chairs very comfortable, but my husband had no problem. The beds were comfortable, though. The condo was clean and well maintained. The jacuzzi tub was very nice to have. We would definitely recommend this property.

Modern Condo in the Heart of Cotacachi

We truly enjoyed our stay in this lovely modern condo in the heart of Cotacachi. The condo was clean, well appointed with new beds that were very comfy. Everything you could want or need was within a short walk. It was a quiet location even though it was in the heart of town. The permanent residents were friendly and helpful and became our friends. The gardens were well manicured with fruit trees and a vegetable garden we were encouraged to take advantage of. Security was tight and made us feel very safe. The pictures of this clean comfortable condo do not do it justice. It is spacious and the decor is beautiful with paintings by local artists and the views from the second story windows are breathtaking. The owner and management staff are efficient and easy to communicate with and do everything possible to make your stay a happy one. I highly recommend this property to travelers looking for the comforts of home.

Great location but

Pros- As mentioned in other reviews the location is hard to beat. Just a few steps away from Leather street, coffee shops, and bakery all which are located next to the park. Complex felt very secure as did the town and the grounds are beautifully kept. King bed was very comfortable and the room darkening shades were great at night due to the lights on the outside that would go on and off due to motion detection.. It was also very quite during nighttime hours. Cons- Unit can be very noisy from restaurants and car care place next door. Also while we were there the people at the two houses next door both had music playing from sunrise to sunset on several days, so imagine 5 different radios going at once. There are also roosters that on certain days seemed to never stop, on other days never really heard. Biggest nuisance for us was that the Direct TV never worked and evidently is an ongoing problem so I would make them check it is working before arriving. Not that we needed every night but we did get pretty sick for a few days and could have really used. Also the sofas like a lot of furniture in Ecuador is not all that comfortable. Internet: even though you pay $40 dollars for (not disclosed in listing by the way) was worthless so if you plan on communicating with family or friends or need for work reasons I wouldn't plan on it being worth much to you. This doesn't seem to be a Cotacachi thing as we met many who's internet worked awesome. Before you make the reservation for flights be aware that they will not check you in past 4 pm, so if you have a later flight you have to find a hotel for that night I guess. This was not disclosed to us until after we booked the unit but fortunately our flight arrived in Quito in time to get to Cotacachi prior to the 4pm cut off.

A dream come true

For many years my husband and I wanted to return to Ecuador and this condo was the perfect place. The minute we stepped inside the door and saw the bright colors, lovely wooden tables and large windows, we felt we had at last arrived. Several mornings we woke up to the "singing garbage trucks", then spent most of our time walking, meeting people, discovering their quiet friendliness. My only suggestion would be to prune the tree branches that blocked some of the window view of Cotacachi Volcan. Thank you for your condo and for making our dream come true!

Nice condo in Cotacachi

We enjoyed staying at the Primavera II condo for the months of Feb. and March. We had stayed at another condo there in the past so knew what to expect. We have visited Cotacachi a number of time and the condo is in a great location with easy access to shops, restaurants, banks. The condo is very well decorated with local artisan decor, quite large with 2 bedrooms and 2 bath, the kitchen was well stock with utensils, etc. Also the washer/drier were great. Only negative, generally for the whole complex, is no patio or a place to sit outside in the lovely gardens. There was only a cement bench which is not too inviting for relaxation.

Andes Condo

My husband and I spent three weeks there this fall. The condo is lovely and just as described in the description and photos. The furnishings and art work are top notch. The location is ideal, so close to all stores and restaurants. The manager, Larry, was very helpful with any questions we had. We love to walk and we found Cotacachi a great place to do just that. We walked most streets and many of the back roads. The bus service is excellent and yet inexpensive, we took advantage of the buses several times to go to other towns/cities. The scenery is outstanding wherever you go. Keep in mind, this is not North America and that is the beauty of it. Having said that, one does have to have some common sense when walking about in any of the places we visited. We would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative. We fell in love with the place and plan to return next year for a longer stay.

Lovely home in Cotacachi

My husband, Bill, and I arrived in Ecuador for the first time in late January. After a few days in Quito we were transported, by a very friendly and helpful SUV driver (arranged by the owner and property manager), to this lovely condo in Cotacachi. The furnishings and decor are exquisite, and the home was equipped with everything one could want in a home away from home. Both the owner and the local property manager were very easy to work with and very accommodating. We stayed here for more than two months and truly felt at home. We would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a truly wonderful place to stay in Ecuador. Christine D.

Just perfect

My 10 day visit was much to short, the condo was perfect for our needs, very clean and decorated beautifully, walking distance to everything we needed including shopping, restaurants and bank. Cotacachi has fabulous deals on anything Leather and the variety of merchandise is amazing. The Otavalo outdoor market is a treasure trove of of colors and beautiful things for the home or yourself and unbelievable prices but be sure to barter, its expected and enjoyed. Larry is an amazing property manager, always available to help us with recommendations on places to go and how to best get there

I visited Cotacachi in April, 2012, immediately fell in love with the area, the people and the life style. The village sits in a valley between two dormant volcanos, the views of the mountains are a daily treat, always changing, always beautiful.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

There are beautiful areas to visit and enjoy, many are pictured on this site, great resturants just a short walk from the condo, the indigenous people are absolutely a delight, gracious, caring, once you are a friend you'll have a friend for life. Great shopping for anything leather. We plan to retire there someday.
