About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths (Sleeps 8-10)

'Mountain Oasis' boasts a dramatic prow front with a 26-foot cathedral ceiling and a second floor loft overlooking the open living area. After a day on the slopes or the golf course, you can relax by stone fireplace or on the deck overlooking our mountain stream (seasonal)-- giving you a wooded setting right in the middle of Massanutten Resort.

'Mountain Oasis' promises you a pleasant time in the forest! Our picturesque setting in a ravine sets the tone for a relaxing stay in the quiet resort neighborhood of Greenview Hills. Although a neighbor is located next door (on the right) our home is designed with no windows on that side for privacy. The stream is seasonal (wet weather).

This home provides 2000 square feet, three bedrooms, two baths, and lots of open space. Located in the kettle of Massanutten Village, right around the corner from the ski slopes, Miniature Golf, Go-Cart Track, and golf and a short drive to the All-Season Waterpark! Massanutten Resort is located near Harrisonburg, Virginia, and is easily accessible from I-81 or I-64

Very conviniet and pleasant home.

Fitted nicely 4 adults and 4 kids. Loved the firm mattress downstairs. The contact person was extremely nice and helpful.

Would love to stay again.

Property Needs Some TLC

  • 3 of 5

The photo is great, but don't expect a babbling brook during the summer (just a dry stream bed). The Jacuzzi is an indoor jetted tub, not an outdoor hot tub.

Why I liked this place:

The house is very close to the mountain action including the ski lodge and property owners pool, go-carts, mini-golf, and tennis. Neighbors are nice and the place is QUIET. The grill was handy, and all of the systems (a/c, internet, etc.) worked. The master bath has been nicely remodeled with a jetted tub that was pleasant to use.

Why I was disappointed:

The house is in need of a thorough cleaning and some repairs. There are serious cobwebs everywhere, the carpets and furniture are soiled. The beds and bathrooms were clean, but the towels were hopelessly worn out and mildewed. Every room has lightbulbs that are burned out.

The biggest problem is that the upstairs shower leaks into the downstairs foyer. Big time. I mean you can't use the upstairs shower because of this. A piece of plywood screwed to the ceiling indicates that the owners have known about the problem for a some time. This is probably causing a mold problem in the ceiling and walls and contributing to the musty smell of the house.

A previous guest of the house indicated in the guest book that his party had abandoned the house after a few days because they could not deal with having just one shower. If you have a large party, best check to see if this problem has been fixed before renting.

Great location and lots to do near this property. Had a couple minor mechanical issues at the residence that were very promptly addressed. Property owner and manager easy to reach, friendly and helpful.

Comfortable, cozy cabin in a beautiful peaceful setting!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the cabin for a long weekend get away with our adult children and grandchild. Everyone had a good time. Our 2 yr. old grandson thoroughly enjoyed going to the stables and riding the pony, while several of the other adults took a 5 mile hike. We loved the babbling brook out back and decided that we would play in the water on Sunday (since Saturday was filled with a wedding to attend)....however, when we went out to play, we discovered the babbling brook had disappeared....oops! Oh well, it made a great back drop for family pictures!!! We enjoyed playing family games around the dining room table...the 2 year old ran "laps" around the living room and kitchen and the jacuzzi tub was a delightfully new experience for the 2 year old. We had a lovely weekend! Thank you for sharing cabin with us!

Perfect for our "boys" vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My best friend and I decided to take our son's (and one of their friends) on a boys' vacation to Massanutten. While I own at this resort, there was no availability for the week we wanted to go. I found this house and it was perfect! The amenities and location made this a preferred property in my mind! The home is large enough when you want to send 4 children to a room (for getting on your nerves), yet cozy to enjoy each other's company without being on top of one another. The pictures do not do this home justice! The owners make it easy to check-in/check-out and even leave a pool pass and pamphlets for local attractions on and off the resort. We had a wonderful time and will definitely rent this place again in the future!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much. We have made it a priority to accommodate our guests in the best manner possible by maintaining and upgrading for over ten years. We look forward to hearing from you in the future! Bill Davidson and Cheryl Harrison-Davidson
