OK but not great
Renovations are not complete. Bare wires hanging out of outlets. Pellet stove for heat but no pellets. roof leaked onto kitchen floor.
Great place for the money!
Clean and well taken care of. We had a great stay
Place was Great
Great place, in great location. Served as the perfect place to stay while enjoying some Amazing fishing on the Salmon river.
Very nice get away
The house was very nice and had great views. Great house for fishing, right on the water and close to salmon river. It is bigger that the photos look.
It’s a camp with an amazing view of North Sandy Pond!
The view from the camp is breathtaking! We were outside from sunrise until sunset! The weather was beautiful! Camp is nice and suitable for what we needed. We have 3 kids who enjoyed kayaking, swimming and fishing! Wayne was more than accommodating when I had any questions and very quick to respond! We will definitely be back!
Great location for Sandy Pond & access to Lake Ontario
Our group of 5 really enjoyed our stay at Wayne's camp! Everything we needed to enjoy our week was there & all the amenities you need are within a 10 miles radius. All the outside fishing/floating/boating is right out the back door. And you can definitely catch a pretty sunset over the pond. We can not say enough about the location.
Here is the collective breakdown from our group (2 couples and a single fella'):
*cell service iffy (Verizon had ok service if outside in back & on lake)
*no cooler for guests to use (we came from out of state so bringing one was not an option)
*no washer/dryer (however heard there was a laundry mat in Sandy Creek and I know that is typical of camps)
*mattresses were a bit springy (probably would not have been as noticeable if we only stayed 2-3 days)
*no garbage service (again, we came out of state so couldn't really take it home)
*no place to really put clothes once unpacked (we didn't get to 'move-in' and had to live out of suitcases, which is one of the great vrbo versus motel features we like)
*no overhangs or covered areas if raining
Pluses (besides the previously mentioned LOCATION):
*plenty of dishes/pans/glasses/utensil/misc kitchenware (could probably use more coffee cups though)
*nice BBQ (either charcoal or propane)
*easy entry to pond with a nice walking/launch pad (rocky but with water shoes)
*usable dock space (we borrowed a pontoon boat and had plenty of room for it at the dock)
*kayaks to use (I even paddled out for my morning coffee - great way to wake up)
*plenty of room for 5 active adults in the house if stuck inside due to weather (which happened during a few hours of our vacation days)
*the neighborhood was very friendly (which made sitting in the back patio & walking around very enjoyable)
*solid wifi (even with all 5 of logged in)
Things we wish we knew (not good or bad; more about the surrounding area versus the camp - just wish we knew for planning):
*recycle return is at Tops in Sandy Creek & is busy so take recyclables each time there is a run for groceries
*while TC Brewsters has a great outside patio and good food -Olde School Pub & Taco Bob's Way Side has a pool table and shuffleboard table
*closest Wine/Spirits store is in Pulaski (only 15-20 mins away but still... we would have doubled up to save another trip)
*go food shopping at Dollar General and then Tops to save a buck or two
*Elm's Golf course is nice and pretty inexpensive
We are planning our next trip! Thnx!!!
