Great Spot

Great cottage to stay at, walking distance to white point resort through a small pedestrian bridge (does not show up on google maps though). Very clean and very quite! Great spot to relax at

adequate, but nothing fancy

Several miles drive on rutted gravel roads to reach cottage. All furnishings are pretty worn, but the beds are comfortable. The bunk bed squeaks so loudly at the slightest movement that it must awaken any sleepers. Bathrooms are clean but small, tired and outdated. Kitchen has basic stuff.Multiple different flooring types, each room seemed to have different cheap linoleum except for the deeply scratched solid pine floors in living area and hall. Decor is mostly yard sale stuff, mismatched and not very attractive. Interior painting on a couple of the walls appeared to have been left not completed. Host was very responsive when a fuse blew (because we used hair dryer in one bathroom at same time as ceramic electric heater in the other bathroom). Will probably look for a better quality place for our next stay.

Cosy Retreat

Very quaint. Three good sized bedroom. Lots of living space. Easy kitchen to work in. Great wrap around deck so you can follow the sun or hide from it.

Family getaway!

We all thoroughly enjoyed our two day stay at your lovely and spacious cottage again this year .Nightly campfires with roasted marshmallows were so much fun . The grandchildren had a wonderful time with all that White Point resort has to offer …games room, indoor pool ,pickleball courts and kayaking . The beautiful sandy beach is always a bonus too . Excellent accommodation

This was our second time staying in Janet and Greg’s cottage. It was very spacious and was extremely well equipped. It was ideal for our 3 generation family and it was great to use the amenities at Whitepoint Resort ( pool, beach, etc) and then come back to relax on the deck or BBQ in such a peaceful setting. We are sorry this is the last summer they are renting their cottage as all of us (adults and children) have enjoyed it here immensely. Hats off to the Corkum’s who have been such awesome hosts!

Perfect relaxing vacation

This was our first trip to Nova Scotia and it was the perfect location and the house was exactly what we needed. We traveled with 3 kids ages 2, 3, and 4. We had most meals in but spent most our time Enjoying the outdoors. We especially loved visiting Summerville and Carters beach. We also took advantage of some activities at white point. Absolutely beautiful place and I enjoyed some Peaceful walks around!

Janet was extremely responsive and the property was clean and had everything we needed. Location was awesome and it was a beautiful setting! Enjoyed sitting on the deck while drinking my morning coffee. Beds were very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing stay

We (5 Ladies) stayed in this cottage for 2 nights for my mother's 70th birthday. We all had an amazing time. The cottage, though a little outdated, was extremely clean, and had everything you need. The king and queen beds were very comfortable. The bunk beds were good for smaller people or kids. When you sit on the patio you can hear the waves crashing. This cottage is a 10 min walk to Whitepoint Beach resort. ⛱️ We used the facilities at Whitepoint. Swimming, sauna, and jacuzzi were great! My aunt and mom even got in to a massage. We went back in the evening for dinner. We had an amazing meal at the restaurant and then went into the bar area for some live music. We would definitely recommend and would book this cottage again!

Rustic Cottage in the Woods

A quiet, secluded cottage surrounded by lovely trees yet a short walk or drive to White Point Resort. The cottage is larger than it looks from the photos. Plenty of room inside and a nice deck outside. A plus, especially for those with children, is access to the facilities at the resort, including indoor and outdoor pools and a game room. The beach at the resort is stunning. It should be noted that the roads in the Whitepoint Estates area are gravel. Also it should be noted that there is an air conditioning unit in the master bedroom only. There are standing fans in the other bedrooms. Grocery shopping and restaurants are available in Liverpool which is about 15 minutes away. The resort also has a restaurant and golf course. A trip to Lunenberg was a highlight of our trip as was a hiking excursion to Kejimkujik Seashore (but make sure to use heavy duty insect repellent if you are going when it's warm.)

It’s tradition!

Going to this cottage has become tradition for my family and friends. For four years in a row our two young families have loved Janet’s cottage. It’s a prime location and the cottage is cozy and comfortable. The wine and chocolate from Janet are a nice touch :)

Excellent Family Accommodation!

We really enjoyed our mini vacation at Shellot Cottage. It was great to enjoy the pool, beach and other amenities at Whitepoint Resort but then to come back to this spacious accommodation which is located in a quiet and peaceful setting. Everything we would ever need was included and it was perfect for our family which included 3 generations. Janet was a great host and promptly answered all our questions and went above and beyond to accommodate us. We were so pleased to receive an unexpected treat basket which was a great surprise! We are already planning for a return visit!

Perfect getaway

Our 2nd time staying at this property. Weather only cooperated for 1 day out of 3, but took full advantage of the White Point resort for the indoor pool for the kids! Highly recommend this property 👍

South Shore Stay

Janet has a wonderful private property here. It’s so wonderful that she shares it! Quiet and peaceful, with just the sound of the ocean nearby. The only thing I wish is that I had booked a longer stay!

Came to White Point Beach area for our nephew's wedding, loved the location and ability to use the resort's amenities. Place was bigger than it looked on website. It served our family well. Would book again if we are in the area again.

Great Getaway !

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shellot Cottage. The place was clean and very comfortable. The grandchildren enjoyed trail walks to White Point Lodge and the beautiful sandy beach . Everyone took advantage of the many amenities the Lodge had to offer….games room , indoor pool etc. The cottage outdoor games were a great hit too . Thanks again for providing a wonderful stay . Nice getaway spot

Enjoyed some family time here at Corkum’s Cottage. The cottage is as described and even larger than we anticipated. Beds are comfortable and kitchen equipped and large enough to cook meals. The walk to the resort is 10 min and we were given access to any activities as described. This is a great option for anyone looking ti be close ti the ocean and resort but wants more space and perhaps some cost savings.
