5 bedroom 3 bath home sleeps up to 12. Quiet setting, amazing river views

Our 5 bedroom, 3 bath home is situated in a quiet country neighborhood to the east of Oregon City with amazing views of the Clackamas River. Choice of paths on the terraced lawn to take you to the river's edge. This home was recently constructed (2016) after a fire destroyed the original home. The floor plan of the new home is completely changed with the view and our guests in mind. The house has 3 full baths with showers and also a tub in the master, 5 bedrooms with queen beds and a full futon with memory foam mattress in the upstairs entertainment area. The home will sleep up to 12 with all linens and bedding provided There is wheelchair accessibility to the main floor and central heating and cooling, as well as an impressive gas fireplace and granite counters throughout. Floors are tile and hardwood. There is a large covered balcony off of the upstairs entertainment area for birds-eye viewing of the river and woodlands. The entertainment area has plenty of seating with a futon, reclining sofa and 2 recliners. A DVD player and DVD library accompanies the 55" LED TV with internet connectivity. Books for adults and children and board games are available for use as well as outdoor sports equipment and games. Full laundry room with additional refrigerator. Gas grill on covered patio off of living/dining area. Returning guests who remember the original house will see the same beautiful river and forest view and outdoor area with picnic tables and fire pot for toasting marshmallows, as well as easy access to the river for fishing or rafting depending on the time of year. Large, private yard great for gathering extended family. We are on the Clackamas River between Milo McIver State Park and Barton Park, and nearly at the end of a dead-end road. .

About Ivan

We are a middle-aged couple with a vacation home (and a mortgage) instead of a retirement account. We enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and the privacy of our little bit of paradise. We think you will enjoy it too.

Ivan purchased this house in 2011

Why Ivan chose Willamette Valley

It is the most perfect private country retreat on the Clackamas River with amazing views of river and woodlands unspoiled by progress.

What makes this house unique

One of the extreme few places available for rent on the Clackamas River. Very private setting and quiet. You'll forget you are only 20 minutes from the city.

Wonderful Setting for a Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a house for a large house for a family reunion with folks coming in from both the west coast and the east coast. The Riverview Lodge was just perfect. It is set well off the road - actually a meandering drive downhill to the river front. It is a secluded property with no houses within sight on either side or across the river. The layout of the house is very open, yet with enough private space for those times we wanted to nap, read, or just remove ourselves from the three little boys in our family who readily fill up a space!

The owners thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. There are plenty of blankets and towels, toys for the kids, inflatables for the river, dishes, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils, etc. Best of all, the pantry was full of extras that one never remembers to bring! Given that the nearest grocery store was a distance away, this was an especially helpful perk! There are also signs within the cupboards so one can get everything back where it belongs.

The property is large with two levels of grassy space that the kids used to their heart's content. The river front is shallow and rocky, but swimmable if you wade out far enough. The river is quiet during the week and more populated on the weekend as it is a popular spot for rafting. We also had a good time catching crawfish which we had as a little appetizer before dinner one evening. There is an abundance of wild life as well and we enjoyed seeing osprey and eagles daily as well as our resident bunnies.

We were graced with beautiful weather and field trips to Mt. Hood and to the Columbia River Gorge were easy drives. Make sure you spend a day rafting on the river. Some of the rapids were a bit scary, but doable. Don't miss the Bent Shovel Brewery which is open on weekends. It is very close to the house. We arrived too early for check in and, luckily, saw the sign on the road. The whole clan met us there thanks to GPS and text messaging. It was a wonderful way to start our vacation in Oregon.

In summary, this is a wonderful house, beautifully decorated and welcoming, in a beautiful setting.

Can't say enough about how wonderful this place is

  • 5 of 5

This was our third time staying at this property, and our first at the new building. Everything about it so comfortable and grown up and made to last. The beds are soooooo improved over the old house -- I slept like a rock. The bathtub in the master bedroom is such a luxury -- I'm still thinking about it. Waking in the early morning and sitting on the porch with coffee, watching mist rise off the river was a dream. The only improvement I would love to see is a bit easier lower yard/river access. But overall everything is just exquisite and totally relaxing. Highly recommend.

Riverview Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Riverview and the rebuild is stunning. We love the location, it is secluded and quiet and other than some people floating down the river we felt like it was our private getaway. 10 of us had plenty of room, 2 generations. Some days we'd venture out and some we'd just relax and float down the river. We like that it is away from the city. If you're an early riser, you can see bunnies every morning. Everything you need is there... well stocked kitchen, gas grill, games, movie collection, washer & dryers and a fire pit. The owners thought of everything and then some.

Great multi-generational home

  • 5 of 5

We were the first guests after the house was rebuilt, and it is just beautiful, inside and out. The owners have thought of everything to make our stay comfortable - a very well-stocked kitchen, nice linens, lots of towels, games for inside and outside, DVD for adults and kids, a new grill, wifi, and so much more. The property is very secluded, so we felt like we like we had a private getaway in the forest on a river. There were 12 of of staying there, 3 generations, and we had tons of space inside and out. We had extra family members over for a BBQ on Father's Day, and there was lots of room to visit on the porch and play in the yard. I would highly recommend this property.
