Thid propert was well appointed. The towels were especiallythirst ones. It was tranquil, spacious, inviting and served our needs quite well. Within walking distance of downtown New Bern and many restaurants.
The house provided the perfect setting for our adult family to come together from around the country/world. The house is as charming as the town and the location was ideal. Comfort, beauty, and well equipped. Quiet street yet walking distance to everything we might want. It was our second stay in the home and hopefully not our last.
Beautiful historic home in downtown New Bern. We were surrounded by stunning paintings created by the host. It was the perfect location to enjoy all that the charming town of New Bern has to offer. Our host was very welcoming and accommodating. I highly recommend this VRBO!
We used to live in New Bern and knew this would be an excellent location to enjoy downtown. The house is adorable, with walls decorated with the owner's colorful paintings. There are 2 comfortable sitting areas, one in the front of the house, one on the back by the kitchen. We didn't take advantage of the porch (or yard) because we had a very busy schedule, but I would've enjoyed relaxing out there. The beds were comfortable, extra blankets were in the closet as you'd expect. As the listing says, you need to bring your own toiletries, and we picked up a pack of toilet paper just in case (there were rolls there from other guests). Our family of 5 each had their own bed (our sons shared the 2 bed attic). Two words of caution: while there's a full bath downstairs, there's not a bedroom on the first floor. This might not be the place for you if you can't navigate stairs. Also, the spiral stairs to the attic/3rd floor bedroom are very tight and narrow. It might be difficult for those with larger builds to get up there. My oldest son only brought a carry-on and was able to navigate up with his suitcase just fine, but my younger son had a 24" checked bag, and it was a challenge to get it up the staircase. It took 2 people to hand it up. Keep that in mind while packing. Our host clearly communicated what we needed to know about the alarm, locks, etc. We had zero issues. We loved our stay and would gladly return to the property next time we make it to New Bern.
My husband and I visited New Bern to celebrate our anniversary. The home, location and town was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed being able to explore the town on foot and going for walks with our dog. Having an enclosed back yard and screened in porch met all our needs. Look forward to coming back!

Robyn, thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Smith House and for your kind, generous personal letter. It is always a delight to have a great match with our guests and we always look forward to their return....as yours!! Until then, bon courage (which is the French for good luck...but, doesn't it express so much more?) Kippy (Kristina)
We loved this property! Great location, super clean, comfortable beds! The house is actually quite large too - the pictures don't do it justice. Would definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is really cute and comfortable. The location is terrific. We would definitely stay again if visiting New Bern.

Great location to downtown. If you like a historic home setting this is the place to stay. Also hostess has beautiful artwork throughout the home.
Full kitchen and great outdoor seating areas.
My husband and I plus our two found children had a wonderful stay at Kristine’s property. The house is in a great location, a short walk to downtown and right next to Tyron place. The house itself is beautifully decorated, including lots of stunning original artwork by the owner herself, we are looking forward to returning!
The Smith House was a very cozy home and the owner was excellent with quick communications. I wish we had more time in the home to enjoy the various amenities like the screened in back porch, fireplaces and firepit. I would definitely recommend staying here!
