Everything went well. There was a nosy guy down below me that would not leave me alone. An old guy may be just lonely.

Perfect experience

A view of the water from every window. And plenty of those. We kayaked, hiked, watched birds. The town is a throwback to less complicated times. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The space was comfortable, the neighbors friendly the view devine

Clear Lake Apt.

The property was worn out, blinds damaged, many light bulbs were blown out or missing. Carpet was disgusting. Walls were dirty. No TV until the house keeper brought her own over for us to use. She even brought us a hair dryer. Ron,Paul, and Moe the house keeper were great people. Owner advertised a bad property.

Terrible! Unacceptable property! Do NOT rent!

The actual apartment is nice and the view is spectacular. The kitchen does have an awkward layout and we couldn’t find one plate or bowl, but those were not deal breakers, just inconveniences. The deal breakers with this property are the difficulty working with the property manager, Ben Lev, and the fact that this is a small run-down apartment complex with year-round renters in a not very nice area of Clearlake. To get to the apartment, we walked past a shopping cart left next to an apartment. We were unsure if they were squatters or renters. The deck, pier, boat/kayak, and laundry are all shared spaces. The residents sit out on the deck (the one in the photo) and smoke in the evenings. Ben is not the owner and has no authority to fix the problems with the complex. It was awkward and uncomfortable. Before we rented, we messaged Ben with specific questions regarding our boat. Ben made it clear that we would be able to tie up our boat, charge the battery, and park the trailer without any problems. When we arrived we found there was no place to tie up the boat. The pier was closed and there is no dock. Ben thought we could tie up next to the pier somehow and swim to shore. Since we were unable to leave the boat in the water, we had to load the boat and leave it in the parking lot. Of course, all three parking spots were being used and a fourth car was parked along the fence. One of the residents asked another resident to move their car so that we could back our boat in along the fence. In addition, there was no way to charge the trolling motor battery from the parking lot and a resident advised us to remove anything of value from the boat as “things happen at night in Clearlake.” After three hours on the phone with Ben Lev and then with a representative from Home Away, we had no choice but to leave. We would not be able to fish all week if we stayed. We stayed at a motel in Lakeport with a dock and power. Ben Lev was not forthcoming with information about this run-down apartment and he is difficult to work with. He agreed to a partial refund and then gave us $101 less than what he said he would refund. Finally, I had to call Home Away to get the link to write the review… somehow we didn’t receive the link from Ben. I do not recommend this place. There are too many problems with this property. If you choose to rent this place, a simple Google search will locate Home Away’s customer service phone number. They are available 24/7.

Wedding night

Wonderful place, if you plan to be silent

The place itself was exactly as promised. Absolutely beautiful view of the lake, simple, clean. However, the downstairs neighbor is *extremely* noise sensitive. We came for a very chill, relaxing weekend so I didn't expect any conflicts of interest, but at 8:30pm when we were making muffins (the world's most demure activity), he came up and asked us to "stop whatever we were doing" as though the noise was causing him great pain. Note, we were not making muffins and listening to music. Or making muffins and watching TV, or dancing around the apartment, or even speaking loudly. Nope. Just making muffins. He didn't come up again, but it was hard to relax and try to be silent, knowing someone was listening to our every move.

Reunion

I came to see my brother and was pleasantly surprised at how nice this cabin is. There was a little glitch in check in but was solved fairly quickly. I believe Ben got the address mishap fixed. The lake is low right now but I was not coming for the lake. Although the view was still breathtaking. Nice. Clean. Quiet. Comfortable.

Great view with balcony. We happened to go on an extremely hot weekend, but the AC was excellent. Shower pressure was good. Spacious & clean. Bed was comfortable. Good eats within walking distance. Nice & helpful neighbors.

Simple honeymoon.

Me and my Husband planned our honeymoon with Ben at this location, due to the pandemic we had to reschedule, Ben was super understanding and made it work for us. As im writing this we just returned and thinking back fondly. The permanent residents at this time are lovely, we spent all 3 nights sitting on the patio deck talking with the other guests and residents. The apartment is dated and feels almost like stepping back into the 80's or 90's. I enjoyed that aspect, but there still was TV and a firestick so you could watch your Netflix. It is close to some local businesses, but be warned that they are inflated prices nearby, but the grocery outlet and dollar tree are only a short drive away and worth it. Overall we loved our trip and definitely want to go back again. 😁

Great view & great price!

The title says it all. This location has a great view of Clear Lake to the point that you feel that you are sitting on the lake. It is also a fantastic price for a weekend away. Ben was very easy to communicate with, and we enjoyed our stay!

Nice location, Great view, but ...

Overall, we liked our stay and it was memorable, but there were a few disappointments as well. Pros: - Great view. The apartment is on the second floor, close to the shore. We really liked the balcony and lake view. You get to see amazing sunsets. - Very peaceful and calm. Location-wise it is located in a nice neighborhood near main stores, yet it is pleasantly quiet. Cons: - The first floor neighbor likes getting to know you. He liked talking and asking you questions on every chance he got, but I don't welcome that when I'm having my quiet time at the balcony (he is a nice person though, so you may even like it). - The room is advertised for three people, but it really has stuff for two. For example, two towel sets were provided. The third person is supposed to sleep on sofa, but no blanket or sheet is provided for that. The kitchen equipment unfortunately has low quality. I'd get better kitchen stuff. - The bed was not comfortable. The sofa was old and uncomfortable too. I'd get a new sofa and mattress.

Very Good

I enjoyed my stay very well. Clean, quite, bed was comfy, could use new pillows. The TV only has Netflix no regular channels. The view is wonderful! Close to everything. The nice man downstairs was helpful and friendly. I will come back!

lakeside paradise

It was a fantastic place to stay, right on and above the water with fantastic views. The apartment was very spacious, clean, and comfortable with a very nice and big kitchen. Our host was very friendly and helpful. We're looking forward to going back there for sure.

Beautiful view

This is a very comfortable, convenient apartment with a fantastic deck overlooking the lake. There were some snafus with the check-in process, but otherwise would recommend the property.
