About Pierre Troestler, owner

We own this house for 31 years. We were attracted by the environment that has remained peaceful in this wonderful historic district. We felt safe to bring up our two boys. Every day, we appreciate the high quality of the environment.

Pierre Troestler, owner purchased this apartment in 1983

Why Pierre Troestler, owner chose Levis

The house dates from the early twentieth century (1920). It has a remarkable fenestration hence its luminosity. The windows open to their full size. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor (14 steps) with a separate entrance. Formerly it was the heart of English middle-class neighborhood. Large trees reign supreme almost century-old home, which makes it comfortable in summer. There are works of art inside and outside the house, creating a unique style.

What makes this apartment unique

The advantages:

ON FOOT:

1. easy accessibility of Old Quebec (not easy to park in Quebec)

2. proximity to many services (restaurants, microbrewery, grocery, convenience store, theater ...)

Finally, the romanticism of the places and the dynamism of culture and tourism.

There is also a immediate nice neighbor park.

Charming, peaceful apartment, a great place for traveling families

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend this apartment for those looking to explore a bit of Quebec City or Lévis. This spacious apartment is located on the second floor of a charming old brick house. The decor is beautiful, everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. The apartment is located about a five minute walk to the ferry. You will have to climb a sizable staircase to access the ferry, which is a slight challenge, but we were able to accomplish it with two young children and a stroller. However, there is also parking near the ferry for $10 a day if you prefer. The ferry makes it very convenient to access Quebec City. During the day, the ferry leaves quite frequently and the round-trip fair is only $7.20 for adults (children 5 and under are free). The other bonus of staying in Lévis is that you get a breathtaking view of Quebec City, especially at night. If you are traveling with children, there is a playground right next door to the apartment and fountains for splashing at the park near the ferry. We loved our stay here and will definitely stay again!

Comfortable apartment in a convenient location.

  • 5 of 5

What a good find! Pierre has gone to huge lengths to make the property comfortable, characterful and homely. It breathes warmth and care. There is a great selection of his art work to enjoy. The location is great and we were able to get to know this quaint historical neighbourhood of Lévis. Our decision not to book accommodation in Québec City was the right one. A quick ten-minute ferry ride (as a foot passenger or with a car or bike) means that you can enjoy the bustle of the city but retreat to this tranquil neighbourhood. We had no problem with the 200 steps between the quay and the accommodation; there are places to stop and get your breath back. Old Lévis has a couple of good restaurants: we would particularly recommend l’Intimiste.

Very nice place. Very well equipped

  • 4 of 5

We had a very comfortable stay at Pierre’s apartment

It was convenient to old Quebec without the crowds or the traffic

You should be fit enough to do stairs down to ferry.. a long way down. Nearby walking distance,at rue Begin, there is a most delightful delicatessen/cafe that you should not miss

We would stay there again

Great location, fabulous view, quiet street!

  • 5 of 5

L’apartement du Parc was the perfect location to enjoy Quebec City , Lévis, Grosse Île and quick access to the highway. Situated on a quiet street on the cliff above the ferry docks, it was so easy to catch the boat over to Quebec and come back to the peace and quiet to enjoy the lights across the river. Pierre was most accommodating and available to answer questions. The apartment was clean, provided everything we needed and we felt quite at home. We would stay there again Merci, Pierre! Á la prochaine!

Good place to stay to visit Quebec City

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this one-of-a-kind apartment decorated with an eclectic mixture of pictures, wall hangings and knick knacks. The apartment was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The apartment is on the upper floor with the owner living on the ground floor. Pierre took the time to give us a quick tour of Levis, which was very thoughtful of him. The walk to the ferry is all downhill and takes less than 10 minutes. The ferry across the St. Lawrence runs every half hour during the daytime, dropping down to hourly in the evening, and is a little over $7 Canadian for the roundtrip and we were pleased to find that both the terminal and the ferry were warm and cozy on some chilly December days. On the Quebec City side it is a fairly short walk (uphill) to the upper city and the lower city is right outside the terminal. So although it is across the river, it was really a very convenient place to stay. The return journey up the 200 steps back to the apartment is very doable (we are an active but not young couple) and there are plenty of places where you can take a breather if you want to. There was parking inside a temporary winter garage for our car alongside the house.

We ate at L'intimiste in Levis and found the food good.

Highly recommend Musee de la Civilisation and the tour of the Quebec Parliament was very informative.
