About the property

House 4+ bedrooms plus sleeper sofa & full air mattress, 4 baths, sleeps 10 - 12

Our beautiful 2900 Square foot home is the perfect combination of elegance and comfort so your family can enjoy our home the way we do! Updated photos coming this weekend!

This property is located just one minute to downtown Winter Park where you can enjoy World Class downhill skiing and snow boarding at the Winter Park/Mary Jane Ski Resort. If you prefer Nordic skiing or snow shoeing, just strap on your gear and step out your front door to the meadow opposite our home.

Our beautiful single family home is located on the bike trail that goes through downtown Winter Park so you and your family can easily and safely ride into town, to dinner, to the new Recreation Center and the brand new cinema and bowling alley! We have stocked trout ponds close-by too, so you and the kids can have fun fishing.

Our beautifully maintained and appointed home features a private hot tub, attached and oversized 2 car heated garage, lovely stone fireplace, and hardwood flooring. The home is thoughtfully crafted and laid out to accommodate families and friends traveling together, and provides all the creature comforts you would wish for in your vacation home.

The main level boasts extensive hardwood and natural stone flooring, a large family area and dining room and gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless appliances, breakfast bar, and work desk. We also provide all the essentials and 'extras' so cooking-in is a treat! We have stocked the kitchen the way we would like to have cooked in the many vacation homes we rented over the years. We have a crock pot so your meal is ready as soon as you're off the mountain, a coffee pot, waffle maker, and a pancake griddle so you can save money by making good, delicious home-cooked meals! We even have spices so you don't have to buy them or bring them from home.

Adjacent to the dining room is a 'study' with television and foldout sofa-sleeper for additional guests, or individuals who have a hard time with stairs. A beautifully appointed full bathroom, and walk-in pantry complete the main floor.

The second level features a beautiful master suite with king-size bed, large walk-in closet, and full private bathroom. There are two additional bedrooms, each with queen bedrooms, that share a full bath in the hall. Full size washer and dryer complete the upper level.

The bonus room above the garage is set-up with a king sized bed, pull out sofa sleeper, and we can provide a full size air mattress for your group if this is needed. There is a TON of space in this area with a flat-screen TV and we also have a Wii System with a handful of games for kids and kids-at-heart to enjoy! Full bath as well!

The home is equipped with Wi-Fi (bring your laptop), cable TV, and local phone service. Additionally, we have a games for your family to enjoy, poker chips, and cards.

We have stocked the home with nice towels (none of the flimsy, cheap, smells-like bleach options you find at other homes). We have separate towels for the hot tub which is great after a day in the outdoors! We appreciate quality, and know that you will too!

There are so many 'things' to do in Grand County year-round (winter sports, ice-skating, boating, fishing, biking, snowmobiling, etc). If we can help make recommendations or point you in the right direction, please don't hesitate to ask. There are some great restaurants in town too, we're happy to recommend in the welcome package you will receive.

Please email or call with any questions you may have. We want you to feel at home in our home, and look forward to accommodating your group for your upcoming Grand County Vacation.

About Tom and Julie Berghoff

We just love the Winter Park area and have been skiing and vacationing here since we moved to Colorado in 1998. We currently live in Boulder but try to get up to the mountains as much as possible to enjoy the beautiful place we're lucky enough to call home. We are so excited that we are able to share our vacation dream with you! We knew we would love the winters: skiing, boarding, snowmobiling, and snow shoeing, but what surprised us was just how much we LOVE the summers: bike riding, dirt biking, fishing, walking to town, hiking.

Tom and Julie Berghoff purchased this house in 2012

Why Tom and Julie Berghoff chose Grand Park

We fell in love with this property right away based on the proximity to the things our family loves to do, the space that works for sharing time with extended family and friends, and the beautiful finishes. We are right on the bike trail which allows us to easily, and safely ride into town to enjoy the great dining options and entertainment. We also love the open meadows that surround our property allowing us to fish in the stocked ponds, or snowshoe/cross country ski without ever getting in the car! We are a stones throw to the new rec center, and the Fraser Tubing hill, and we are a block from the ski shuttle. We feel like we are 'in-town' even though we are in a quiet, friendly community.

What makes this house unique

Great spaces for families traveling together. Everyone has space to hang out together, or find a cozy room to read a book. We love the hardwood flooring, granite countertops, and all the storage (two car attached heated garage, large pantry, big closets).

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for a great weekend getaway. Everything was great and the home is beautiful. We enjoyed the super clean hot tub, being able to walk into town, and the beautifully appointed home. Great for an amazing family vacation in the Rockies

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our 4 families staying under one roof. It’s close to Winter Park and has everything you will ever need nearby. We loved the walk/run/bike trails right out the back door—not to mention the short drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. The floor plan was fantastic for the kids in the great space over the garage and perfect for adults on their own floor. We will definitely go back!

Great Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 and another family of 5 had a magnificent stay at 16 Rifle Shot Trail! Minutes to Winter Park and all of the shopping/dining options that are there. We had plenty of space in the house for all of us and the large kitchen/dining area were perfect for in-home cooked meals.

The home was beautiful. We were almost afraid to touch anything at first.

  • 5 of 5

The home was easy to get to and not too far from shopping or the slopes. After we settled in, it was just like being at home and we were quite comfortable. The arrival and departure directions were easy to follow.

Peaceful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous Mountain Home, that is beautifully decorated to make you feel like it's your own home where you don't have to tiptoe around because you are afraid to break something. Love how it's so close to a grocery store, tubing hill, restaurants and Winter Park ski resort. Would definitely recommend this VRBO to friends and family.

Car: recommended

Cross country skiing or snow-shoeing available right out the front door in the open meadow. On the bike trail through Winter Park, and on the bus route to the ski resorts (pick-up just a block away).

Close to the new Recreation Center, walk or bike to town!

Easy access to tubing hill, concerts, skate park, skiing, shopping, dining. Ask me about the Tubing Hill in the winter, and the concerts in the park in the warmer months. Great local dining options available! Boating at nearby Lake Granby or beautiful Grand Lake!
