About Tony Garver
My name is Tony Garver and my co- owner and business partner is Stewart Roland. As high school friends, we have lived in the area for over 40 years. Together we started an electrical contracting company, that now, has surpassed six and a half years in business. Five years ago, we were given the opportunity, to purchase the home next door and jumped at the chance! It is a beautiful craftsman style home, with bead board ceilings and the original heart pine floors. After a total renovation, we felt that we could not sell what we had completed and that we should, instead, turn it into a short term rental, for others to enjoy! I am married to my beautiful wife Nicole and we have one year old twins and live right next door to the property. Stewart is married to his beautiful wife Shae and has two children, Seth and Sarah.
Tony Garver purchased this House in 2011
Why Tony Garver chose Thomasville
This is a beautiful house in a great location! Very spacious, landscaped yard, off the street parking, king size beds, a 60" flat screen tv in the living room, private back patio and large front porch with ceiling fan and rocking chairs. The walk to downtown is less than 10 minutes and carries you through a canopy of 100 year old oak trees. Turn one block early, on your way to down town and see the pride of Thomasville, the Big Oak! Over 300 years old! Turn right, and visit the Thomasville Museum and then walk across the street to the famous Lapham Patterson house.

Awesomeness in Thomasville
Big Oak Cottage in Thomasville was just perfect for our family getaway! The neighborhood quiet and safe. Both external amd internal the property clean amd well kept! King beds super comfortable, and a bathroom off each bedroom, fully stocked, was super! The kitchen met our every need for preparing a meal, and the Keurig coffeemaker a nice addition....living room with 60” flat screen perfect (plus TV in each bedroom).....DVD, wireless internet....on and on could go! And, then there’s Thomasville....lived there 30 years ago and this was a revisit with my parents...The Big Oak, Rose Garden, downtown...let’s just say, awesome all the way around!
Thanks Tony and Stewart for your tereific hospitality! Big Oak Cottage rocks!!!
Perfect place for ourselves and pups
Very clean, everything just as expected. Very convenient to our activities in Thomasville area. Fenced yard just the thing to let dogs out at night. Next time hope to stay longer!
Perfect for our needs!
This charming bungalow was perfect for me, my two friends and our dogs. It was clean and comfortable. The fenced backyard allowed our dogs to enjoy a little freedom and the neighborhood is charming. Tony was extremely responsive. Highly recommended.
Thomasville is known for its well-preserved historic and vibrant downtown. In the Victorian era, wealthy northerners flocked to this southern town for the mild climate and the pine-scented air. Today, the historical fabric is very much alive in the architecture of the Victorian homes, downtown shops, and the brick-paved streets. Learn about history at one of the museums, tour Pebble Hill a beautiful sporting-plantation, walk through a nature preserve, or just enjoy a day shopping in the independently owned shops and boutiques, then stay for dinner at one of the many delicious restaurants that abound.
