We were so fortunate to find such a comfortable home within a 5 minute walk to the beach. We grab our beach bag and we are off to walk, swim, snorkel or sun.
When we are home, we live on the veranda - entertaining family and friends, reading, playing games, and enjoying our beverages as we watch nature pass through our garden. In the evenings we can watch the sunset through the trees.
Location, Location, Location . . . Just a short walk to several bars, restaurants or the mini-mart.
We are perfectly situated between Holetown and Speightstown. A 15 minute car or bus ride will get us to: a department store and a supermarket in either town, several more bars and restaurants, 2 hardware stores, the fish market, snorkeling in Folkstone and shopping for either a high-end something special or a T-shirt or local crafts. We can also go to church - ours or several others (*** Fun Fact*** Barbados has more churches and rum shops, per capita, than any other country in the world!)
Wonderful sights and activities unfold within a 1 hour drive from Spindrift.
*All of the beaches around the island are public and each is worth visiting- Bathsheba, Bath, Accra, Crane, Harrismith, Rockley just to name a few.
*Every Parish has its namesake church - many hundreds of years old
*Lovely gardens like Hunte's, Andromeda or Welchman's Hall Gully
*Historic Bridgetown, (Yes, George Washington slept here!) Plantation houses like Sunbury or St. Nicholas Abbey.
*Monuments and Statues- Gunn Hill, Nelson's statue in Bridgetown (is older than the one in London! )
Harrison's Cave . . . and then there are the Rum Distilleries: Mount Gay, Four Square (RL Seale)
We love Barbados! It's the Tropics - It's Warm!
Family, Friends, Sun, Fun, Beaches and Rum!
