About the property

Charming cottage just a sidewalk's stroll to Main Street.

Located in the charming west-side historic district of the mountain town of Hendersonville, NC, the cottage is both peaceful, surprisingly private and perfectly located. Dine al fresco on the covered front porch, surrounded by a beautiful garden and picket fence. Lounge on a chaise and enjoy the smells of rosemary. Respectfully restored, the cottage is the ideal of a charming historic mountain home. The original stone fireplace hardwood floors and wavy glass windows create a feeling of a by gone era. Yet all the conveniences of the present ensure a pleasurable and pampered respite. Enjoy a sidewalk stroll down idyllic 4th Avenue to town to shop and dine at the many wonderful restaurants. I will leave a list for you with our favorite restaurants and even a few tips on what to order.

The master bedroom's king bed with all high thread count cotton sheets, a super soft blanket, puffy comforter and goose down feather bed is private and peaceful. The master bath features a shower/tub in natural stone.

The charming kitchen bright and clean and is fully equipped with cookware and everything needed to prepare meals.

The dining room is comfortable gathering place for meals, games and projects.

The living room features a beautiful fireplace, original to the home, built from local granite and now features gas logs. There is also a new 32' flat screen with amazon fire TV.

About Ellie Graham

Hi1 I am Ellie Graham. I am a professional portrait photographer and a mom to three young children. We are nearby if you need anything at all but far enough away that you can make yourself at home. We do hope you will feel like the cottage is your magical home away from home.

Ellie Graham purchased this house in 2007

Why Ellie Graham chose Hendersonville

Western North Carolina is home to many summer camps. I grew up in Georgia and was blessed to have five glorious years of summer camp as a child at nearby Camp Greystone. I dreamed that I would someday return to the mountains of NC to live and in 1996, that dream became reality. I love Hendersonville and am so happy to call it home!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I had such a peaceful restorative two days at Hendersonville Cottage! I am an artist and appreciated the amount and quality of light, especially in the master bedroom. I sat in the living room by the fire for hours, sipped my tea and basked in the late day sun streaming through the windows. Being so close to everything and yet a world away was great.

Hard Road Trip Ended in Warm Welcome

  • 5 of 5

I chose to drive from Austin to Hendersonville but I did not choose to drive through the tropical storm to get there. But, once I arrived at Ellie's home a way, I was glad to find a cozy refuge from the weather. The outside with its landscaped front yard enclosed by a picket fence was enchanting. Inside, the decor lived up to my first impressions from the outside. I especially appreciated the cheese, coffee, and peaches that were left for me as I did not feel compelled to seek out sustenance if I did not want to. I enjoyed sitting out on the front porch watching the birds and butterflies. I would return to this sweet property if I came back to North Carolina.

Charming, vintage cottage close to downtown Hendersonville

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is full of charm with old farmhouse style windows, wooden floors, and creative decor in a vintage setting. The king size bed was very comfortable and the garden was beautiful. Adding to the charm were the beautiful photographs throughout the cottage. Hendersonville is a great small town!

Quaint, cute and cuddly cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is adorable. It's within an easy walk to Hendersonville's Main Street. Ellie had it all decked out with a comfy couch, magazines, a table with candles and twinkly lights on the front porch. It was so inviting to drive up to. She also left us a nice bottle of wine and some yummy goodies to go with it. The bedroom has a comfortable king size bed with lots of pillows. The bathroom had big fluffy white towels. We enjoyed the personal notes she'd left around too. Ellie was quickly responsive with any questions we had (where to eat, etc.). The whole area is charming with abundant flowers in everyones' yards (including Ellie's).

Shabby Chic (emphasis on chic) Cottage near Main Street Hendersonville

  • 5 of 5

Ellie has created a beautiful space for relaxing inside and outside the cottage complete with a lovely picket fence enclosed garden that I'm sure is even prettier when everything comes into bloom. Outside eating table and a little sofa for lounging on the front porch. Comfortable stylish furnishings inside. Ellie's own gorgeous photography on display. 10 minutes from Flat Rock and historic Carl Sandburg farm, 30 minutes from Asheville. If you're looking for slick, modern or flawless, this is not your place. If you appreciate the quirky imperfection of an old house appointed in a casual but elegant way you will be in heaven.
