About Lisa Caravette
My husband and I have been coming to Mt. Dora for 18 years and have always loved the 'feel' and the 'fit'. We are both nurses and plan to retire here. When we are here we are always busy and have met the most amazing people. We hope you enjoy Mt. Dora as much as we have.
Lisa Caravette purchased this House in 2011
Why Lisa Caravette chose Mt Dora
We are unique! One block from Donnelly Street! Many homes boast that you can walk to downtown but it may be a 10-15 minute walk. Our cottage IS downtown. We are quaint and cozy and kept the decor true to the period in which it was built. Also, we are one block from Lake Dora, the marina, the docks, boardwalk, nature trail as well as the park.
What makes this House unique
We looked for months for a cottage with the amenities we were wishing for. We wanted a downtown location - got it! We wanted to be close to the lake - got it! We wanted a 'cottage' feel - got it! Now you get to experience what we fell in love with all these years.

Lovely feminine cottage, conscientious owners, and VERY close to town. Great! All in all a beauty!
It was like staying at Grandma's house.
The location was great especially since between the Leesburg Bike Festival and the Blueberry Festival, parking was at a premium. We were so close to Evan's Park that we could of stayed free by charging to park on the property. lol Great outdoor space to relax and have a glass of wine!
Location is the BEST
The Mt Dora 1/2 Marathon & 5K is a race my sons have run for more than 5 years. This house is an ideal location to the race start/finish & we have stayed there multiple times. In the evenings a short walk across the railroad tracks & the lighted Marina is a nice place to stroll. It is also convenient to the Children's Park; while walking into town for dinner or breakfast is an easy walk even for a 4 year old child. Mt Dora is a wonderful little town in which to spend the Holidays. Nice owners ~ Cute House ~
Great place to stay!
I think this was our third stay at Cara Mia. Love the proximity to town, love the cottage. All clean and everything you need is there. So nice to sit out back in the evenings when it was warm enough. In town but quiet location. We will be back!
We had an amazing stay and hope to visit again soon! This house is cozy and a great place for the family!
Really clean. Perfect location.
This lovely two-bedroom home is refreshingly spotless. There's a daybed in the back room which can be used as a third bedroom. The house is located about one block from the lake, downtown, and the waterfront park. The furniture is comfy. The kitchen is complete. There's a washer-dryer. We parked our car in the driveway and didn't move it until we left town. We sat out back with our morning coffee and inhaled the peace and quiet and beautiful view; there's plenty of seating out back, as well as inside the house.
Important: there are no grocery or convenience stores anywhere within walking distance of the house.
Our cottage is one street away from Donnelly Street which is the heart of downtown Mt.Dora. There you will find restaurants, wine tasting, shops, and all the action yet situated on a quiet street with plenty of parking. Sit on the front stoop and enjoy your morning coffee and look at the lake or savor an evening cocktail on the covered deck in the backyard. Rent a boat or kayak from the Mt Dora Marina which is steps away and troll the lake or take in lunch at one of the many lakeside restaurants. Gilbert Park and the lighthouse is steps away and the sunsets are magnificent. We are approximately 45 minutes from Orlando and all the attractions
