Great little house! The perfect place to stay when visiting Bryce Canyon!
This was my third time at this property. It has been wonderful every time. Located in a quiet part of town, with a nice view of the surrounding landscape. Comfortable bed and very clean. Just be aware there isn't a full kitchen, but the listing makes that clear. I will definitely be back.
Great place to stay! Wonderful hosts and neighbors! Convenient to Bryce Canyon NP and Kodachrome SP. Town of Tropic is close with grocery store, places to eat. We would stay there again. Thanks!
We greatly enjoyed our stay at The Evergreen while visiting Bryce Canyon. The cabin decor was beautiful and it was amply supplied - a perfect place to relax after a day of hiking and exploring. We would definitely recommend a stay at The Evergreen!
The house was located central to the areas we planned. Escalante & Bryce also discovered Kodachrome State park was just up the road from the property. Would book the property again.
If you grew up in a small town and appreciate the experience of small towns you will find this to be a good location if your objective is to experience Bryce while breaking from the crowds.
Parking and getting in and out to the Park and other attractions is easy.
Access is to the house is fine.
The house has the basic basics, but if you are planning on gourmet cooking ...... good luck :)
If you have children, they will enjoy the spiral staircase the need to climb for sleeping. Adults ???
All in all we enjoyed staying here.
This is an AMAZING place to stay outside of Bryce. House was perfect for the two of us and had more than we actually needed! Quiet area and beautiful views. Excellent WiFi. We have VRBO’d many times, and this house has been the best we have stayed in thus far. Communication was quick and easy; house very easy to find if you follow the directions. Cell-wise, we have ATT, and lost reception upon hitting Cannonville, but switched to WiFi calling and all went well. Hit Horseshoe Bend (Page, Arizona), Capital Reef, Zion, Red Canyon, Kodachrome and Bryce… all great but Bryce is our happy place (logged 70 miles hiking). 20 minute drive to Bryce- but beautiful drive that passes quickly. Good food choice options in Tropic. Cannot wait to go back… this is a GREAT choice if you want to stay a bit away from the hustle/bustle of Bryce.
VERY CLEAN and a GREAT place for a family. We didn't need the space in the loft, but it was nice up there. Extra towels, blankets available.Great info about Bryce. Tropic was about 5 miles away where we ate. It was about 20-25 minutes to get to Bryce Canyon.I'm not a fan of sponges in the kitchen, so I wish there would have been dish cloths to use.
Parking was right in front of the house and off the street. The house is well decorated and is stocked with everything you need. Proximity to Bryce canyon is 14 mies. House was very clean. Melanie responded to my questions immediately. Willis Slot Canyon was beautiful! Our favorite restaurant was Bryce Canyon Pines. For souvenirs shop at Rubys. The town of Cannonville is walkable. We did an evening walk. Thanks for letting us stay at our home Melanie!
We came to Star gaze at Bryce Canyon but the forest fire hindered that. Thankfully the house was every bit as cozy as the pictures. The house was adorable, comfortable, well decorated, and equipped with all we needed so we were still able to make it a special occasion. Our teen grandchildren loved the loft especially. The neighborhood was quiet and well kept. We were very pleased.
house was super, everything very clean. One thing: there was only one soup-spoon in the whole kitchen. If renting out for more than one person you should stock up on cutlery.
Melanie’s place was PERFECT for our stay. Both queen beds were VERY comfortable (we didn’t use the single bed) and the kitchen, albeit compact, had everything that you could possibly want/need. The information book was full of great suggestions. We definitely look forward to coming back again!
The home had a perfect space and sleeping arrangement for my kids and I. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and the location was in an small town about 20 minutes to Bryce Canyon Visitor Center. The only complaint was the front door being very difficult to open every time we got home. That’s the only fix that needs to be made. Otherwise it’s very charming and lovely!
We stayed for 3 days while hiking and exploring Bryce Canyon NP, red canyon and the area. It was very clean, easy to find, and close enough to the Park for us. Cannonville is a very small town with no restaurants or places to shop for food, but you can pick up food in Tropic on the way to the NP.
This was a very convenient place to stay while visiting Bryce. It was very clean, quiet, and cute. We had a small glitch which when the Property Manager was notified went above and beyond to rectify. I would highly recommend this place after our experience staying at this location.
Great location - close to Bryce Canyon NP, very close to Kodachrome State Park and near to the Petrified Forest State Park.
The cabin had hot plates and a small electric grill for cooking. A fridge and a mini split for climate control. The split was adequate for our stay. The hot water had a mind of its own in the shower tho.
This was a lovely property for our National Park Trip. Comfy beds, Plenty of space, very clean. Gave great recommendations for eats, shopping, and attractions. Great selection of books, some games and even had coffee pods & Keurig!

About the host
Hosted by Melanie Scoffield
We live in Seattle and drive to Cannonville multiple times a year. Our kids love to hike the red rock, walk to the small store for treats, and ride ATVs (not provided) around town. It's a special place to us and we are excited to share it with you.
Why they chose this property
It's been a goal of ours to build this cabin for over five years. We wanted to leave a legacy for our kids in this small town where this land has been in the family for four generations - five once we pass it on to our boys. We decided to build in 2015, did most of construction in 2016 and it just finished in early 2017!
What makes this property unique
It is so cute, well laid out, efficient and functional. We equally loved building it as we did decorating it. It's not like any other property around since it's newer, a stand alone home, modern and completely custom.
Soon it will have a nearly identical house next door for larger groups to book together!
