Perfect Quiet Getaway
Enjoyed this cottage the most. Beautiful landscape, quiet and peaceful, very clean with everything you may need. Wonderful outside covered and uncovered patio areas with lots of chairs and perfect views. Mark and Josh opened the winery after hours to accommodate my late dinner quests. Sara thought of everything down to the tiki torches. Wonderful accommodations from a darling family!! Booked my next trip in two weeks before I was even checked out. This was a 14 hour drive for me and worth every second! Ready to be back!!
Great weekend getaway!
We found the Burnt Timbers Cottage online while looking for a place to escape town for the weekend - and we are really glad we did! First, the cottage was well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It also has a large outdoor patio with a stone fireplace that was perfect for sitting outside with a fire and watching the hundreds of lightning bugs filling the night sky.
The house sits on a large working farm next to the Juniata River. It is surrounded by cornfields and is bracketed by the hills and the river. It’s truly a picturesque location. It is on a farm, so there are other buildings on the property, including the owner's home and a winery. Even so, we felt secluded enough to enjoy a quiet weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We also took full advantage of the winery, which provided us plenty of good wine and good conversation.
The hosts were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. They also provided us with recommendations for local restaurants that were spot on.
We really enjoyed our stay overall and hope to be back. Our only regret is the weather didn’t really cooperate for us to enjoy the river. Maybe next time!
Our stay in Granville
Our time in your cottage was restful, with beautiful surroundings and sunsets. We loved the trains running nearby and the river. Hope to come back and enjoy kayaking and bike riding in the area.
Excellent communication with the owners. Cottage had everything we needed for our short stay. Very nicely renovated cottage. Enjoyed the wine tasting room as well. Although it did not affect our stay, the cottage does not have wifi - could at times connect but never access the internet. We were able to make due with wifi hotspots from our phones.
A beautiful cottage, well equipped. We also enjoyed spending time at the winery's tasting room.
Beautifully restored cottage, craftsmanship was evident.
Glad you enjoyed your stay at Burnt Timbers Cottage. I hope you will choose to stay with us if you are in the area in the future. Mark and Sarah
