Hi Amy! Thank you so much for your review. The pond has a filter & a thriving ecosystem, similar to what you would find in local fresh water lakes. While I'm sorry that you experienced some disappointment, had you brought these to my attention when I contacted you throughout your stay, I would have been happy to address these issues to improve your accommodations. Sometimes issues may arise, regardless whether you stay at a hotel, motel or vacation rental, but its how those issues are handled. I would have loved the opportunity to make things right. It is extremely important to me that my guests are happy & comfortable, which is why I make myself available to help. Although I do my absolute best to keep the house well stocked, guests might have different preferences from one to the next. Good day! Thank you kindly for leaving a review. Although any listing may say "pet friendly", it does not mean that pets are "free", the only animals permitted to stay without a fee are certified service animals. As stated in the description on my listing, we welcome well behaved pets for an additional fee & pets not added to the reservation may be subject to cancelation without refund. Unfortunately the booking guest did not add the dog to the reservation, thankfully I have security cameras outside of the house which alerted me of a dog on the property. I spoke with the booking guest shortly after the first 4 guests & dog checked in to discuss the pet fee, he informed me that it was his daughter's dog & that he had not arrived yet. Regarding the floors being unclean & the pack of cookies, after my cleaner finishes I walk through the house to confirm the house is exquisitely ready for my guests. The guest writing the review arrived hours after the other 4 guests & dog arrived. It is likely that he did not communicate the check in instructions with them & the dog brought in dirt from walking in the yard. It is important to me that my guests have an amazing experience. Hence the requirement to remove shoes, I provide house slippers for all guests. The property damage protection is a completely optional purchase that guests may add to their reservation. Also stated in my listing, this is a country stay. If you are not familiar with bugs & weeds, please keep in mind that although I have the yard treated, as a cancer survivor & lifestyle consultant I am careful of the frequency & types used to protect children, animals & plants from being contaminated with toxic chemicals & poisons that come in contact with skin (our largest organ). I keep communication open & ask that if there are any concerns please be understanding as things can occur anywhere you stay & contact me so that I may resolve them quickly. On the second night of their 2 night stay, this guest contacted me about an ac unit not working properly, I responded within minutes that I would be there shortly to resolve the issue. Upon resolving the issue, the guests were very appreciative. I asked them how they were enjoying the house, they told me everything was fantastic.
