We are a group of 5 friends who travel to Carmel for a tennis "camp" each June. We love cooking and hanging out together, and our stay at Rancho Rio vista was absolutely perfect! It's well located between Carmel and Carmel Valley, in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood of similar homes. With 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, there was plenty of room for privacy, but also several areas for common gathering. The standout of this home was the meticulous maintenance. We've never been in a personal home that was as spotlessly clean and well appointed. Ken was also an excellent communicator and a pleasure to deal with.

Glad you had a great time. The home is not located in Rancho Rio Vista but the adjacent neighborhood. Hope to see you again.
We really loved this VRBO. We arrived late (10:30 pm) and the code worked but the door handle had been locked. I called Ken and he quickly got back to me and we were able to access the home. The kitchen was well stocked. There were 4 bedrooms of good size and 2 full baths. The check out process went smoothly as well. The location was amazing and met all our needs. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.
Very roomy, well equipped property in a woodsy environment. Perfect for driving a short distance to the walking on the trail by the beach, shopping in downtown Carmel, or visiting the wineries in the Carmel Valley.
We had a very nice stay with 6 adults. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was nicely remodeled and had all the amenities you might need. We had one little issue and the owner was extremely easy to get on the phone and quickly resolved the problem.
Everything is great except for a few things. The house had a musty mildew smell, the master bed was not very comfortable and the sheets were very rough flannel. The location was great and we had a great stay.

Sorry you had issues with our home. The master bed is a Tempurpedic bed which provides maximum support. Some people sense a difference the fist time they sleep on this type of bed. All the beds in the home are such that even Goldilocks would find something satisfactory. 3 different types of beds. As for the flannels, I will need to check with the housekeeper what might have caused the roughness. We change the sheets during the summer months. Mildew is prevalent on the Monterey Peninsula when fog and ambient moisture is present. The housekeeper airs out the home when she is working but if there are several days between guests moisture can build up. All visible mildew is cleaned after each guest. Sorry. We will try to do better. First complaint of this type we have received.
This home is great for relaxing after exploring the many scenic areas of the Monterey peninsula. The large well equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal for 2 or 10 (we were a group of 5 adults.) The only negative are the area carpets over the wall to wall carpeting - they do not stay in place and become a tripping hazard. The owner is charming and attentive - when we had a problem with the faucet in one of the bathrooms he immediately contacted a repair person and it was fixed by the time we returned from our hike. This is a well maintained and comfortable home!

The perfect spot
Our stay was fantastic. It is was in the best location, right in the middle of everything. (The sea and the valley) The bedrooms are on one side of the house and the living spaces on the other. This allowed for my kids to awake early without disturbing my parents. The outdoor spaces are ideal for family time, and/or a quiet glass of wine. Ken called me multiple times to make sure our stay was going well. I highly recommend.
