Beautiful rustic villa with fantastic hosts
We have just returned from a weeks stay in this beautiful area of Tuscany. The area was recommended to me by a friend who lived in Pietrasanta for 10 years. The villa is in a perfect location on a hill with wonderful views overlooking the town and the nearby sea and is surrounded by olive trees and grapevines. From there you can easily reach the towns of Lucca, Viareggio, Pisa and Florence. We also caught the ferry from Lerici (a lovely harbour town with a medieval castle) to the Cinque Terre.
Our children loved having a swimming pool that they could cool down in and the villa had everything you could need.
What made our holiday so special though we're our hosts, Francesca and Manu and their amazing family. Their warmth and generosity goes above and beyond all expectations. We were invited to dinner on our first night to sample traditional Italian cuisine which was delicious along with the some of the best wines we have ever tasted which Francesca actually makes at her home. We were lucky enough to be there for the harvest and met some more of the family all of whom were equally friendly and welcoming. We were even invited to join them at a Sagra that evening where the locals meet to chat, eat and dance. I had mentioned that we were celebrating our daughter's birthday (and mine) and Francesca did a Pizza Party for her which she loved - the best pizzas we've ever tasted!!
We have made some amazing memories - not only of the places we visited but also of the wonderful new friends we have made. We would definitely recommend this wonderful property. Thank you so much Francesca and Manu. You made our stay a truly memorable one which we will never forget ! 😊
A beautiful villa with stunning view surrounded by vines and olive trees
We had a lovely fortnight in this beautiful villa in August 2018. Francesca and her family made us feel so very welcome, and shared some lovely food and wine with us. The villa was spacious, clean and well equipped, and the kids loved being in the pool. By day there is a great view to the coast and by night you can sit out under the stars. We found lots of good things to do in the area including Pisa, Florence and Lucca. The local beach was clean and affordable and the sea was so warm.
Amazing experience in the charming house and owners hospitality!
We will be back soon!
Beautiful hilltop villa with wonderful hosts
We have visited Francesca and Manu twice now, and had a wonderful time with our family. They are warm, gracious hosts that offer a beautiful villa with an incredible kitchen, great views of the sea, a pool, and the smell of olive trees all around you. A perfect place to visit with kids, especially with the beach ten minutes away. And everything seems to taste better in this part of the world--especially if you are lucky enough to have Francesca cook it for you!
Wonderful stay in a beautiful Toscan Villa
This place is absolutely magnificent. Neither the descrition, nor the pictures gives full justice to the charming villa and it's breathtaking view of the ocean and neighboring mountains.
Francesca and her family are considerate, attentive hosts, doing their best to help at all time. The house is well-equipped, has great rooms and a very authentic charm.
It's Tuscany in the summer, so it's hot, and there's no air condition. Also there's plenty of mosquitos. But other that that, no complaints whatsoever. We would happily return.
Villa with a lot of charm, tastefully decorated
The place is very clean, the view is STUNNING, all the rooms are full of charm, decorated with taste. The pool is quite big and overviews the valley, with a direct view on the sea which is quite nearby (10/15 min by car). Last but not least the owners are extremely helpful and kind. I had an amazing stay there.
If you love the sea, the nature and the cities of art Villa Giovanna is the right place to stay. Five minutes by car to the sandy beaches of Forte dei Marmi and the Versilia coastline with its night life, restaurants and café, and to the charming town of Pietrasanta, the present home of many famous sculptors in marble. You can also visit other famous Tuscan cities like Florence 100Km, Pisa 25Km,Lucca 20 km, Volterra & San Gimignano. For the ones who loves trekking there are many paths on the Apuan Alps included the spectacular Antro del Corchia that has a total length of over 70 km of subterranean channels and 1,210 meters of difference in height, and it is the main karst system in Italy and one of the biggest in the world. You can fish in many beautiful streams and you can easily visit the romantic near islands of the Ligurian Gulf of Poets, Le Cinque Terre & Portovenere. Tennis courts and 18 holes green only 5 minutes drive from the property. After a day full of emotions you can relax at the pool overlooking the sea surrounded by olive trees.
