If you enjoy the outdoors, then here is the place to turn off the phones, unplug the computer, and unwind. This large, well-maintained cabin has plenty of space and all the amenities you need, while also feeling remote on a wooded, one-acre lot in a private community. Note that, by design, there is no cable TV or internet. However, cell service is very good (except for T-Mobile, which is intermittent) and we have Chromecast if you want to throw something to the flat screen, or you can just use the DVD player.
The cabin is in a wooded, rural community, and during winter months you can expect snow. We provide snow shovels for the deck and stairs, and having 4-wheel drive may help you get in and out during big snowfall days. Your Fitbit will love you.
We are just off I-90, so access is easy. Just 27 miles from The Summit at Snoqualmie, you have a quick trip up and back to the ski area, while also avoiding the Seattle traffic! Whether skiing or tubing, or trying out the Nordic center, there are lots of snow activities at the Summit.
Indoors there is a dining table and a game table. You can take the top off the game table to play bumper pool (on a challenging, slightly warped table), or flip the top over for a poker table.
The leather sofa and easy chair in the living room provide comfortable places to watch movies or relax in front of a fire. We have an eclectic collection of movies, or you can bring your own. There is also a game cabinet full of board games, cards, and dice.
Downstairs is a bedroom with queen bed and adjacent bathroom. The 2nd bathroom is also on the main floor. Upstairs is the loft, with twin beds for the kids on one side, and full a bed for the folks on the other. The loft is open on one side so you can also see over the living room through the huge windows to the front deck and lawn.
In the summer:
The cabin has front and back decks. There is a table with umbrella, a picnic table, propane grill, and a refrigerator (that can be plugged in if you need more refrigerator space).
There are outdoor fire pits off the back deck and by the river. Please provide your own wood when burning is allowed.
The Yakima River is 300 feet away from the cabin, on our property, across a small bridge and down a wooded path. Wading, sitting, or floating in the river is wonderful on a hot summer day! We provide chairs for you to take down to the river. Bring tubes or rafts if you want to float.
