Great days in Key Largo
Property was very clean and well appointed. Plenty of room for boat either in water or out.Met the owner who went out of his way to be helpful(especially when we locked the wrong lock). Convenient to everything-Publix, restaurants(try Key Largo fisheries),Pennicamp Park. One disclaimer- no dishwasher. Didn't really need one. In the rear of the house by the canal is a full covered area with grill, cooker for fish, sink and refrigerator-all in great shape. The best place I've stayed in many trips to the keys.
Great Location, Clean House
We loved our time at this home. It was absolutely perfect. The only issue is no dishwasher. It's kept very clean and well stocked. And the fenced yard was perfect for our 2 dogs! Plenty of room to park, and the views of the canal made for a relaxing place to hangout and just enjoy. We had a great time hanging outside at the outdoor kitchen too! Everything worked and we really had no issues at the house at all. And the wifi is fast! Mariam (who manages the home for the owner) was always very quick to reply before our arrival, and we never needed anything while we were there.
There does appear to be a small downstairs apartment but it was locked and we never saw anyone come or go. It's very small, it could just be a large storage space. But just something to know beforehand and clarify if anyone is staying there.
Our only problem happened about a week after we left. We planned to stay here every time we visit, however we received an incredibly rude message from the owner a week after we checked out. We replied immediately to get some clarification, but never heard anything else. That was a downer to an otherwise perfect time. I don't know that we would stay again after receiving a message like that as it makes me wonder how we would be treated.
You’ll be sad to leave
This was our second time renting in this area and this house will be my go-to from now on. The location was beyond perfect. We brought our 22’ boat and our two Labradors with us. Our adult children and their family came for a few days too. There was plenty of space and everything was very comfortable. We even cooked thanksgiving dinner in the home. The kitchen is minimally stocked, so bring your own cooking gadgets if you are fussy about cooking. The neighbor, Mariam helps the owner with the rental and she will let you borrow anything you may need from her kitchen. She helped us so much with our questions and she and her family were very warm and welcoming. The neighbor to the right, Paul, is a fisherman and he sold us bait and gave us great spots for fishing. When we checked in the house was very, very clean and fresh smelling. You’ll need to make a Publix run for hand soaps and some basics. Bring your own top sheets, three queens and one twin - for some reason these are not on the beds. There are plenty of towels in the guest bathroom for your use. The outdoor space is beautiful, we ate dinner out there most nights. There are only four chairs for the table, so bring some camping chairs if you need more. You will love the peace and quiet and beauty of this place so much that I doubt you’ll want to go home. Make sure to have dinner at Hobo’s Cafe. We had one of the best meals there; the crab bisque is incredible. I can’t wait to get back to this paradise.
Stylish Key Largo House
We stayed here for 6 nights in August on a 2 week tour of Florida, having spent 6 nights in Orlando "doing" theme parks we needed a break! The house is beautifully decorated and well kitted out, very comfortable beds and fantastic showers! There wasn't a dishwasher as advertised (a bit annoying with 3 kids!) but we managed. The air con is also very noisy but I sleep with earplugs so it didn't bother me. We ate locally at Pilot House (excellent), DJs for breakfast (also great) and Bayside Grill for our last night where we had a lovely meal and fantastic sunset. We enjoyed the kayaks which were available with the house and fishing off the dock. We drove down to Key West one day and ate at Bagatelle (superb food and old house). Visited The Oldest House and Hemingway's House, very enjoyable. Thanks to Dalvis for letting us stay in his beautiful house, we didn't meet but he was very helpful.
Super location near ocean!
Beautiful home in a very nice location. It is less than 5 minutes to the ocean from the canal. The outdoor areas are great for sitting out in the evenings. Fish cleaning table and outdoor grilling are nice. The host was gracious enough to let us leave our boat and trailer past check out time so we could manage our other plans. It would be good to have access to a few more towels, wash cloths and top sheets for the beds. We had a great time staying here.
Property was clean, spacious and beautiful. We enjoyed the kayaks and the canal was great. Property was close to supermarkets, stores and restaurants, some restaurants were within walking distance. We will definitely be staying here in the future!
Home is near all tourist attractions and restaurants. Some restaurants are within walking distance. Home is near park, grocery store, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Dolphin Cove, marinas, movie theatre and many more.
