Staying at 3150 Burgundy with Maisha as a host was terrific. She is a super attentive host and it is great to have her nearby. The apt is the perfect getaway for one or two folks and was super comfortable. I highly recommend staying here and plan to be back as her place and the Bywater are wonderful.

Shawn, it was great to host you and your brother. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure greeting you in the yard in the mornings.
We had a wonderful stay at this charming Bywater apartment. The space itself is beautiful, full of character, and filled with natural light.Maisha was a great host! She was welcoming, responsive, and genuinely thoughtful. She also provided a variety of small extra amenities that made our stay feel even more comfortable. The location was perfect for our trip. We were able to walk to many of the key New Orleans spots we wanted to visit, and we also loved being just a few blocks away from the amazing local cafes and restaurants of Bywater. It really gave us a great feel for the neighborhood. We had a rental car, and we could always find parking on the same block as the apartment if not right in front. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans!

HI Aaron and Emily! Thanks so much for the review. It was a pleasure hosting you all. You all came at a perfect time of the year when the weather is mild and everyone is happy. Im glad you enjoyed the space and your trip.
When we first stumbled upon this shotgun, and it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Maisha is the most thoughtful, gracious host. She provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around. The apt was just perfectfor our Mardi Gras stay. All the rooms are large and and contains everything one needs. The bed is comfortable, bathroom and porch are excellent. Location is incredible.
This place is cute, cozy, has great character, and has everything you need for a visit to New Orleans. Maisha is a great host, very responsive, and right next door if needed. The location is great. There are nearby coffee shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, and shops to explore. It is easy to get to other parts of the city, too. One day we walked to the streetcar and took it into the French Quarter. I really enjoyed exploring the neighborhood - the colorful houses, plants, and people walking their dogs. I would definitely book again!

About the host
Hosted by Maisha Joshua
I am a third generation New Orleanian whose family migrated from New Roads, Louisiana and Pearl River, Mississippi.
I returned to New Orleans in early 2000 after living outside of the state for a while. I have a 23 year old daughter in her fourth year of college.
I work and play in the same area where I live. About six years ago, I began taking pottery lessons. Fast forward to now, I have my own ceramic practice where I am part of a collective that have a collective maker’s space.
I also sell my work at a local shop along with teaching pottery at a community pottery studio.
Why they chose this property
This historical neighborhood is full of artists, vibrant colors, historical homes and great restaurants. It’s nested below the French quarters and a few blocks from the Marigny neighborhood.
I share property lines with my parents and love that I can be there for them if needed. I live my sense of community.
What makes this property unique
My property has a lot of space, high ceilings and is perfect for couples. It’s quiet, comfortable and cozy.
