Eco Cottage Vedere täydellinen loma

Eco Cottage Vedere on vanha kivirakennettu venetsialainen talo, joka on kuulunut perheeseemme jo yli 200 vuoden ajan. Se sijaitsee Vederoissa, pienessä venetsialaisessa kylässä.

Se on 8 km: n päässä Rethymnonista, joten se antaa sinulle mahdollisuuden tutustua kaupunkiin sekä maaseudulle.

Se on 192 neliömetrin talo, joka on kaksi tasoa. Pohjakerroksessa on 2 makuuhuonetta ja 2 kylpyhuonetta, olohuone, ruokailutila ja täysin varustettu keittiö. Puinen portaikko vie sinut yläkertaan, jossa on kylpyhuone, pukeutumistila ja makuuhuone, joka avautuu verannalle. Siellä on näkymä kylään ja voi nauttia auringonlaskusta.

Talon perusteet koostuvat laajasta yhdistelmästä: keskuspihalla on kolme ruokailualue ja grilli; keittiön sivupihalla on vielä toinen ruokailualue, riippumatossa ja kasvis; lopuksi pois on toinen alue, jossa on uima-allas ja kaksi oleskelutilaa (yksi ylimmässä nurmikolla) ja sateenvarjot, joten voit ottaa aurinkoa sydämesi sisältöön. Omaisuus on täynnä kukkia ja ruukkukasveja.

Tarjoamme vieraillemme oliiviöljyä puista, talon viinistä ja rakiasta. Asumme samassa kylässä 20 m. pois talosi, jotta voimme auttaa sinua millään tavalla, jotta voit olla unohtumaton loma!

This villa was amazing. We were fascinated by the history and loved Eleni. She truly represents what Greece is all about and as we Greeks say philoxenia to max. We had a great last night meal. Everything was first class and going forward we look forward to seeing Eleni every year. I am recommending all my friends wishing to visit the island of Crete to enjoy the comforts of this place. Villa of my dreams

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Eco Cottage Vedere! Eleni was an excellent host and just the kindest person. She made us a delicious dinner on our last night. The villa was rustic yet modern. The lighting allowed you to enjoy the outdoor spaces long after the sun went down. The pool was the perfect place to cool off after exploring Crete. Beautiful views from the second floor patio for sunset. Each space was welcoming and comfortable. We spent much of our time outdoors on the multi-leveled terrace. Our rooms were cool with a/c and soft linens. Having 3 bathrooms was so nice and when getting ready. We loved the village surroundings as well! There was another village 4 minutes away with 3 great restaurants, a pharmacy and grocery store. It was also a short ride to Rethymno if you’re looking for tourist attractions, restaurants and shops! If you are looking for a less touristy area with local culture and charm, this is the place to stay!

Very high standard, tasteful and relaxing

Wow was the first word we all said when we saw the eco cottage. Our family of four stayed in this beautiful home, situated in a quite hamlet, few minutes drive to restaurants and small supermarket this August. Eleni and Janni have worked so hard to provide you with everything you would need to have a fantastic stay. The name cottage does not do the property justice, the outside area has four different areas to choose from to eat! Internally all mod cons inc juicer and oranges were provided and Elani even cooked two traditional meals inc one for the vegitarians! All areas are very spacious and the whole of the property inside and out is spotless. The location although not directly on the beach is in a very peaceful setting, you can hear the bells from the goats and the cockerel. We visited lots of different beaches, went into the mountains and swam in a lake plus historical sites, none were too far away. The pool was used every day on our return from our trips and it was delightful. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Ideal Setting in Vedere

The property is amazing! I seriously can not say enough nice things about the cottage. Amazing condition, amazing finishes, amazing pool. Seriously... this place is amazing. The location is in Vedere, a small village outside of Rethimno. It's a 5 minute drive into Rethimno, an hour and a half from Heraklion, and about an hour from Chania. The village is lovely, and quiet, with a beautiful church. It is a perfect retreat after a long day of exploring the island. It feels secluded, but there are great tavernas and restaurants just minutes away. I recommend Veranta in nearby Prines (5 mins away). The host (Eleni) is amazing. She was friendly and helpful with tips for our visit. She is nearby in case you need anything else as well. We even locked ourselves out the first afternoon and she was there to let us back in within 3 minutes! She cooked dinner for our group the last evening there, and the food was unbelievable. We talked recipes, and she even sent us home with olive oil from their own trees, and spices from their garden. Thanks, Eleni! I highly recommend this property for your stay in Crete. It has a central location, a great host, and is beautifully maintained. It is even better than the photos!

Gorgous villa in the countryside

The villa is as described with a very tasty and useful interior, 3 nice bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with very comfortable beds. The kitchen fairly big is well equipped and and provided all we needed for a descent cooking for our family with 3 adolescents. Eleni provided us with homemade olive oil, feta from a well known shepherd, eggs from her own hens and she invited us to take tomatoes, peppers etc. from her vegetable garden. As we rented the house in August / September the garden all the vegetables were ready to be picked and they tasted just great, although our kids might disagree in that point. There are plenty of relaxing areas around the property, we did not count them but it felt like being 6 or 7 including 2 big dining tables, to find a shadow and quiet possibility of withdrawal from the family and to read a book or just to chill out with a purring cat on the legs. The pool was more than big enough for our family and it was even possible to swim, besides were 4 loungers in the shadow, vacation at its best. We had our favorite breakfast and dining table a few steps above the house's inner court and particularly in the evening with the house`s outer lighting on and a good bottle of wine it was a place we could have sit the whole night. The walls and terraces in the court are decorated with herbs in plant pots like thyme, rosemary, peppermint and sage. Every pot has its own water supply, so everything is green smelling just wonderful. Our highlight was the dinner Eleni cooked for as preparing a wonderful and tasty lamb with potatoes and a salad my son still talks about today. We enjoied having Eleni for dinner with us, her English is perfect, and so we all had a very interesting conversation and a lot of fun. Vederi is a very !!! small village, population est. 20something in the countryside with a venetian history about a 10 Minutes drive from Rethymno. The location is very central to reach Iraklio, Chania and of course Rethymno as well as the beaches in the south. It is absolutely quiet as we did not felt the chicken and occasionally dogs being noisy. There is a certainly bigger town about 1 mile away, Prines, with a butcher, a very good bakery and a few supermarkets if on the road to Rethymno. In Prines are as well a few restaurants, although we much more enjoied to cook and spend the evenings in 'our house'. Eleni was just a wonderful host and the villa is so charming, that we always would come back.

Home away from home

Staying at Eleni’s home was like coming to stay with family. What a beautiful warm hearted lady she is. Vederi is a small traditional Village in Crete, just a 5 minute drive from Rethymno. The house is just beautiful and full of history. The various courtyards and places to sit were wonderful to spend time in to relax, not to mention the sparkling blue swimming pool. We loved the vegetable garden with the tastiest tomatoes and the pots of fresh basil and other herbs. Eleni supplied us with fresh locally sourced food and drinks which was much appreciated by our group of 3 couples when we arrived. Eleni also cooked us a delicious traditional Greek dinner on our last night there. We were all very sad to say goodbye to her and wished we had stayed longer than just 3 days.

Spotless villa, full of character with charming host

The property is a great place to stay for families. There are several places to eat on different terraces etc and a lovely pool area to hang out by. Eleni is a wonderful host and provides fresh veg and eggs to eat which we very much appreciated. Would highly recommend.

Relaxing der Oberklasse

Wir haben insgesamt 14 Tage in dieser wunderschönen Unterkunft Heerwesen dürfen. Die Hilfsbereitschaft von Eleni kennt keine Grenzen. Auch nicht die dortige Ausstattung. Alles ist vorhanden und mit viel viel liebe zum Detail geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Haus befindet sich in einer kleinen, abgelegenen Dortschaft mit insgesamt 23 Bewohnern. Absolute Ruhe ist hier garantiert. Zum oben gelegenen Dort sind es nur 10 Gehminuten. Auch hier ist man unter sich und kann in kleinen, typischen Tavernen lecker und preisgünstig Essen. Die Ausgangslage ist zudem hervorzuheben, da das Haus sich ziemlich genau in der Mitte der Insel - nur 10 Minuten von Rethymnon entfernt - befindet. Gerne kommen wir wieder

Best choice ever

We spent 1 week in this house and we can talk only in superlatives about the place and the hospitality we were surrounded by!!! It's a fully renovated traditional house meeting the highest modern hygenical standards while reserving its original atmosphere and antique details. It's super clean, very quiet and comfortable. In the garden you can chose between different spots to enjoy the swimming pool or a barbecue or just sit and listen to the cicadas. One of the bedrooms has also a large terrace with a beautiful view of the hills. We appreciated very much the owner's professionalism and kindness (and cooking!) and also the local products she'd filled the fridge before our arrival and gave us after. For eating out you have 3 nice tavernas within a 5 minute drive. We highly reccomend this place.

Luxurious estate in the heart of a small village.

We researched many places to stay in Crete and this one was a perfect choice! The owners have restored and expanded on their family home, making it a truly elegant and comfortable home. The photos do not do it justice -- it is much more spacious than it looks, with over 5 dining areas to choose from. We stayed for a week -- 4 adults and 2 children -- and had enormous amounts of space. It was incredibly quiet, beautifully restored with antiques interspersed with modern amenities. The pool was fantastic for the kids (and adults). The airconditioning was great to have if it got hot too. There is a fresh vegetable garden off the kitchen that we were free to use and pick our own tomatoes. We arrived to a kitchen generously filled with fresh fruit, Cretan specialities, local feta, and anything we could need. And Eleni's husband even cooked lamb for us (and Eleni an eggplant dish) to introduce us to traditional food. We couldn't have been happier and better taken care of. The village is ideal for kids -- shops and all just 10 minutes away by car. It is a very authentic experience, not at all touristy in feeling - and great to be so close to a city (Rethymno) and have a central base from which to explore Crete. All six of us felt like this was our favorite place during our trip to Greece. HIghly recommended. A gem of a place.
