The Aspen House Cabin is in a beautiful and quiet rural neighborhood surrounded by National Forest, but only minutes from the entrance to Yellowstone Park and the town of West Yellowstone. It has amazing views of the nearby mountains, and is in an area that is regularly frequented by Yellowstone wildlife.
This is a smaller log cabin with one main floor bedroom and a loft master bedroom. The cabin is surrounded by a beautiful forest of mature aspen and fir trees. It is well equipped, with a very cozy and comfortable feel. It includes all of the comforts of home, including a full kitchen, large screen TV, wireless internet, a barbeque grill, and a large yard.
The cabin is furnished with really nice Keetsa eco-friendly king-sized matresses in both bedrooms. It is also well appointed for fishing folk, with wader hooks and a rod rack for fishing rods just inside the entry door.
The cabin offers spectacular mountain views with easy access to Hebgen Lake and the mountains of Gallatin National Forest. It is accessible by driving on a paved highway from the town of West Yellowstone and then taking a short 1/2 mile drive down a graded, maintained dirt road. It sits in a secluded area at the base of the mountains forming the Continental Divide, only 7.5 miles outside the town of West Yellowstone and the western entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
It is located in a small, quiet subdivision that is surrounded by Forest Service land. The Madison Arm of Hebgen lake, with a boat ramp, beaches, and swimming, is less than 4 miles away. All of the Park's animals also live and travel through the area, so it is not uncommon (depending on time of year) to see elk, moose, bear, fox, wolves, eagles and many other animals nearby. Hiking trails and groomed Forest Service snowmobile trails are accessible from the boundary of the subdivision, and snowmobiles can be ridden from the home in the winter. Cross country and backcountry skiing opportunities are also available right outside the door.
It is in a great location for staging any Yellowstone adventure, whether exploring the Park or the surrounding forests and lakes while skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, biking, boating... Almost any kind of outdoor adventure, you'll find it here. There's plenty to do in West Yellowstone too, for those not as outdoor inclined. You’ll love it!

What makes this Cabin unique
From the Aspen House owner: From the very first visit, our family fell in love with Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding area. In fact, we rented the Aspen House during that visit! As luck would have it, we now own the Aspen House and are so excited for you to be our guest so that you, too, can explore and discover the beauty and wonder of the area. While you have likely come to spend your time within the park, hopefully you’ll find time to explore outside of its borders as well. To the south lies beautiful Jackson, WY, resting in the shadows of the majestic Tetons. The Grand Teton is a must see and makes for a convenient day trip south out of Yellowstone Natl. Park. While in the park, countless wildlife viewing and photo opportunities await. For scenic photography, be sure not to miss the road up to Mt. Washburn, Yellowstone Lake, the Fishing Bridge, Yellowstone’s Grand Canyon and, of course, Yellowstone River Falls. Just a few short minutes north is Hebgen Lake. It’s an easy loop for a scenic drive or a full day on the lake as a mid-trip rest. West Yellowstone has a number of fun restaurants and activities as well to fill in those down moments between your excursions. Or, as we like to do after those long days, simply return to the cabin, settle back on the porch and enjoy your favorite grilled meal while watching for wildlife until the sun sets. Regardless of how you choose to spend your time, we’re glad that you chose the Aspen House as your home base. We hope you enjoy the rustic decor, inviting beds and, most importantly, the peace and quiet offered around the clock by Mother Nature herself. Please be sure to sign our guest log and leave us a note about your visit, where you come from, highlights and if the cabin was a complement to your vacation as we hope it was. Whether this is your first time in the area or just one of many, we’re very pleased that we could play a small part in the memories you created! - Jeff, Lisa & MacKenzie

Cozy retreat for winter fun
Out of town privacy on a well plowed private road, only a short drive to the world-class skiing of West Yellowstone. Cabin was warm and cozy in spite of below zero overnight time temps. Comfortably roomy for two couples. The one issue that came up during our stay was professionally handled by the property manager. Thanks!
We really enjoyed our winter getaway at the Aspen House!
It is in a beautiful location and if you are there to snowmobile, you are right on the trail. The house was very accomodating for 4 people with plenty of bed linens and towels. The kitchen was well equipped for our stay as well.
The only recommendation I have, would be to put more hooks in the entryway for hanging gear. This would only pertain if you get a lot of snowmobiling parties in the winter time.
A slice of heaven
my husband and I pulled down the dead-end road to the little cabin at the end. They were aspens all around and a cute little deck. Upon entering I was pleasantly surprised how neat and tidy everything was. we spent only three nights but had a wonderful time. Every day we took up to Yellowstone and in the evening's dinner in town. The cabin was perfectly situated so you were not in town but close enough to enjoy it. Perfect for up to four people comfortably.
Great place to stay!
This home was as advertised and was a great spot to cone back to from touring Yellowstone. Highly recommend!
Wonderful base for Yellowstone and Tetons
This beautiful cabin was a great base for our visit to Yellowstone and the Tetons. We would recommend it highly.
The cabin is located at the end of a road off the highway and is very private. You feel as if you are in the forest. The log cabin appearance outside is mirrored inside with true Jackson hole feeling. The kids absolutely loved sleeping in the loft bedroom overlooking the living room. The washer dryer was very useful for a longer stay with family. The kitchen was small but high end especially the fridge. We loved the decor, the loft, and the location being only 7 miles outside town and the West Yellowstone entrance.
The owners were gracious and welcoming. There was a lot of useful information provided. It was close to perfect for us-our only hiccup was that as a family of 5 we tend to go big, for example with groceries or clothes/toiletries, and we sometimes overran the storage accommodations. Probably would be enough for most families but just a note for those people like me who pack heavy.
We would highly recommend this place to anyone. Lodging in West Yellowstone seemed to be mostly motels or smaller cabins and we were thrilled to be in such a beautiful and comfortable home for our stay.
Charming, Cozy and Spotless!
This cabin was just about perfect for our family of 4. Set amongst the trees on a back road about 15 minutes outside of West Yellowstone, the cabin was picture-perfect quaintness. When we first stepped into the cabin our smiles came out. It was adorable. Polished peeled pine furniture predominated, with a clean, comfy carpet. Everything was shiny clean and seemed new. And the outdoor grill worked beautifully (something we couldn't say about the grill at the other cabin we stayed in for our Yellowstone adventure.) Beds were comfy. There were screened windows and fans to keep the cabin cool in the evening. It had all the appliances and cookware anyone would need. (The wildlife themed pottery-type dishes were beautiful!)
The only suggestion would be for a more comfortable sofa. The futon was not all that comfy, and only sat three, so the 4th person had to sit on a pine chair from the dinner table - cute but hard.
All in all we LOVED our stay at this cabin and would recommend it to anyone.
Many thanks for the review, and so glad you enjoyed your stay! The futon is being replaced with a sofa-sleeper couch, so it should be a much more comfortable situation! Hope to have you back again soon!
The area offers easy access to Yellowstone Park and the thousands of acres of surrounding Forest service lands. Accessible less than 0.15 mi/.25km from the home, the Gallatin National Forest offers abundant wildlife and hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, snowmobiling, skiing, hunting, and exploring. With spectacular mountain lakes and rivers that create a myriad of fishing and boating opportunities, there's something for every outdoor enthusiast. The town of West Yellowstone (7 mi/12km) has its own charms, with both summer and wintertime activities, live theater and movie theaters, dining, shopping, outdoor and wildlife educational programs, the Rendezvous ski/bike trails, and a museum.
