About Phil Rubino
This house has been in my family for over 30 years and my family has spent the summers here over that time. I recently renovated it. My family have grown apart and now I am looking to share this beautiful property and location. It is surrounded by the Vineyards of Long Island, many as close as half mile.
Phil Rubino purchased this House in 1982
Why Phil Rubino chose Mattituck
This is a perfect getaway for families or couples always quiet. In the mornings you will wake with the birds chipping and singing. If your looking to get away from the hustle and bustle this is where you will find it. Every time I pull up to the house you feel the stress go away like I do, just serene. Private and quiet house 1 block from the beach.
What makes this House unique
The beach is only half block away, there is no need to get in your car, you can walk and you will be right there. Have lunch back at the house.

It was a comfortable home and convenient location.
It was a very comfortable home and a great location to vineyards and beach.
Had a glorious family vacation
The house is clean & comfortable and well supplied with everything we needed. Phil was quick to respond to any questions we had and was always pleasant. We wish there was a washer/dryer but the local laundromat was easy & does free pick up/drop off. This would be
The yard was large & lush and we had lovely dinners outside. Can't even begin to say enough about the beach, the sunsets & the space. We would definitely come back!
Great location and spacious house with a couple of inconveniences
We were choosing location and got a winner! The house is literally steps from the beautiful and absolutely not crowded(!) beach. Our large family enjoyed walking there for morning exercises and refreshing swim, stayed there for hours in the mid day and watched sunset in the evening. Just be aware that it is not a FL sugary sand beach - it has rocks and shells (beautiful!), and seaweed, so water shoes help. The waters are very calm and easy to swim in, but if you want a change - go to the open ocean on the other side of the island - for big waves and surfing. The house has a great community backyard for running and playing and located in a very quite expensive neighborhood. It is not big, but comfortably fit our family of 8. It has some renovations, but overall it is an old house and cleaning should be done much better - especially the floors. Large patio table with comfortable chair, grill and beach chairs and even swim boards - all was very nice and useful. Two negative sides: not enough towels (if a house sleeps 8 people, it should have enough beach and bath towels for everyone. This was inconvenient since I was told that there would not be enough when we were already in NY and couldn't bring ours.). Second - you have to haul your garbage to the waste center by yourself! This was a big inconvenience. Putting garbage bags into the car, driving, unloading, etc. Waste center works limited hours. What do you do with the last minute garbage? We had to drive with it to the airport since we were leaving very early in the morning. Pretty ridiculous situation, especially since you pay good money for your stay. If the garbage service was cancelled for the house, I think the owner/cleaning crew should take care of it after guests are gone. Besides that everything was good, including local wineries, restaurants, fresh seafood and farm markets, even sunflowers fields! Phil was very responsive and easy to work with. Appreciate all his suggestions for local places. If not for the garbage situation, we would've definitely stayed again.
Perfect accomodations for LI wineries
A group of 7 friends rented the house for the weekend. It was clean, price was reasonable, Phil was a pleasure to do business with. Our favorite part about the house was that it was down the block from the beach where we watched the sunset and walked in the mornings. We also liked sitting out in the backyard. We were able to take a cab to go to wineries & dinner. We ate at Touch of Venice Restaurant in Cutchogue, it was excellent.
Best Beach in Mattituck!
We rented the house for the month of July and had a marvelous time. The house worked well for us, clean and comfortable with plenty of room for guests. The Rubinos were wonderful, always available and making sure we were taken care of. And Bailie Beach, mere steps away from the house, is a jewel that left us breathless at every sunset.
House is located in a private home owner association with a huge backyard.
