About Cassie Telian

Greetings, we're Don and Cassie, your hosts for your stay at Cedar View Cottage. We moved to Oakhurst in 1999 and it wasn't long before we called it home. The friendly town and beautiful scenery make this location an ideal place to raise our 8 children.

Cassie Telian purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Cassie Telian chose Yosemite Area

The Cottage is a special place to us. Our oldest son is a contractor who built this home for his first few years of marriage. When they moved away we found we had an adorable little cottage to offer to others visiting the area.

What makes this cottage unique

We live in the house adjacent to Cedar View Cottage and are here to help make your stay more enjoyable. We both work at home where Donald is an engineering consultant and Cassie is a mom and birth assistant. We have had many years of welcoming guests into our home and find hospitality very rewarding.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We both love this Cottage!

Fantastic and impressive cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this cottage. Everything was very nice and welcoming. The owners live right next door and were available for questions. The back deck was my favorite for early morning breakfast outside. Highly recommend!

A peaceful cottage!

  • 5 of 5

The flowers, the hummingbirds, an evening's sit on the front porch alone or on the back deck with family members, or relaxing indoors in a peaceful, comfortable setting, all of this was at our disposal during our stay at the Cottage. Cassie and Don were perfect hosts, with their warm welcome upon our arrival. We had every amenity we could have hoped for to make our 5 night stay top notch. The Cottage is perfectly located for travelers wanting to visit Yosemite and visit other sites in the surrounding area as well.

Great time)

  • 5 of 5

This stay was the best among all our family stayed before!

From the very first moment we got to the place , we liked it very much, but when we entered that cute cozy house - we didn't just like it, but loved it, the perfect little cottage :)

Think, the best description of our stay would be my mom's words that she had a real vacation for the first time:) Beautiful location - I'd call it paradise for artists, as there are numberless quantity of painting/ drawing subjects, so I didn't have problems with the next theme of my art piece.

Huge thanks to the owners Don and Cassie for their amazing job and care even to smallest detail.

Overall summary : A+++

P.S Highly recommend to rent this place, sure you won't be sorry a single second that you did :)

The cottage was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 6 days and found it to be a perfect base for exploring the area. We were 20 minutes from the south entrance of Yosemite, minutes from Bass lake, close to the town of Mariposa and we had a grove of giant sequoias right up the road . The cottage was perfect - Cassie had thought of everything you could ever need!

Amazing property and location.

  • 5 of 5

The description and reviews from the website were on point and accurate. The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming from the moment we made the reservation to the day we were scheduled to depart. This was the first time we visited the Yosemite Valley with a family of four, two adults and two children. The room for the kids were perfect. The property was easy to locate and plenty of room for the kids to run around.

The house is neat and cosy. Close to the Yosemite park. Owners are great people.

  • 5 of 5

We were traveling to Yosemite from Seattle with three kids. It is quite a long way and at the end of the road we were happy to find "home away from home" - nice, cosy and welcoming little house. The property is clean and has all necessary for a family stay - refrigerator, washing machine (spot remover and detergent included), dryer, even gas grill and small cooler. We found shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom and a baby crib along with extra pillow, duvet etc in one of the bedrooms which worked well for our almost three years old. The only thing we missed is dishwasher. The owners are really nice people; we met Cassie - she is definitely a sweetheart. We hope to come back one day.

Nearby Bass Lake is a popular fishing and power sports destination with numerous docks renting everything to make your lake experience enjoyable. We've had memorable family times renting the large pontoon boat, filling a cooler with all our favorites, and grilling on the on-board BBQ out on the lake.

Oakhurst is home to a number of golf courses, motorcycle and hiking trails, horseback riding and Yosemite mountain sugar pine railroad.

Yosemite National Park is at your beck and call every season of the year~

Springtime means gushing waterfalls and mountain wildflowers.

Summer is a beautiful time to explore hiking trails, horseback riding and rock climbing. A must see are the big trees at Mariposa Grove just inside the park. This is a highlight for many of our guest!

Fall brings a glorious display of colors and continued warm days.

Winter is known for breathtaking snowy views and wouldn’t be complete without visiting the outdoor ice skating rinks or skiing at Badger Pass.
