FLORENCE ITALY PERFECT TORELLA APARTMENT
Note: for 3 night stays there is an "Administrative Fee" that will be removed for longer stays.
Romantic apartment has inspiring views of Florence. Top floor, sunny bright. Located on the Oltrarno side of the river directly across from the Uffizi museum. Fabulous terrace.
"We loved our stay at the Torella--it was a magical time in a perfect setting."
1 bedroom with queen sized bed, 1 bathroom, living room, kitchen, large terrace with spectacular views. 463 square feet on two levels with living room, kitchen, bathroom with shower, terrace downstairs. Bedroom upstairs (up one short narrow flight of stairs).
6th floor with elevator. Apartment entrance is up 1 flight of stairs after exiting the elevator. Washer, wifi internet, electric stove, microwave, satellite TV. A/C in living room & bedroom. Building has a doorman.
This amazingly sun filled apartment is at the top of a Renaissance palazzo that faces the gallery of the Uffizi gallery, the most famous museum in Florence, across the Arno river.
"Torella was a fabulous location, wonderful views of the Arno River and terrifically close to the Ponte Vecchio, Pizzi Palace and other sites."
The building blends with its Renaissance-age neighbors with grey stone, pietra serena, accenting its classical proportions. The building is locked and has a doorman during business hours.
There are a few steps from the street to the level of the elevator which takes you all the way to the floor below the Torella apartment.
The staircase, 18 steps, is beautifully painted and leads past a coat closet to the main level of the apartment.
The expansive, private terrace is the highlight of the main level. It faces uphill and from there you can see across the river to Santa Croce, Ponte alle Grazie, San Miniate and Piazzale Michelangelo with its beautiful views. A garden in the summer, the terrace has a table and chairs for dining and enjoying the sun and views.
"I loved the terrace. On sunny days I would sit out there working, facing eastward up river."
From the terrace, step into a charming room that has a full height window and door on its terrace side. There is a glass-topped table with two chairs, a bench and shelf unit in this room. A pass-through window opens onto the kitchen.
Three steps from this dining room leads into the living room with comfortable sofa, chair, credenza with television. The credenza contains the dishes and silver ware as well as the microwave. Alongside the credenza is also the refrigerator-freezer.
The kitchen is small, but has everything for preparing meals: two burner electric stove, sink, coffee pot, drip coffee maker, electric tea kettle, pots, pans, knives, utensils.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet, bidet, sink and washing machine. It has an independent heating unit.
The bedroom is accessed up a narrow staircase that rises from the living room. There are 19 steps that aren`t wide, about 19'. Under the steps is the clothes closet and a small closet that holds the vacuum.
If the terrace weren`t enough for views and light, the bedroom may even be more wonderful. A room built on top of the building, the bedroom has an arched window in each wall with a memorable view from each. The bed is a divisible king, that can be organized as separate single beds for traveling friends. If you stay up late, maybe even just enjoying the view, you can close the light-blocking drapes so you don`t have to rise with the sun.
"The bedroom is the highlight of the flat. It is the turret on top of the Palazzo with a 360 degree view all over Florence."

About Pat Byrne
This apartment is offered by Italy Perfect. We are a family business with a mission! We want you to love visiting Italy as much as we do. We are sisters Lisa and Pat Byrne who lived in Italy in our youth and now travel there frequently for business and pleasure. We offer only short term rentals that we carefully hand pick for their locations, furnishings, amenities, and that we can personally recommend and would want to stay in ourselves. We travel frequently to inspect, and usually stay in, the rentals we represent. We select vacation rentals that offer charm, good locations, cleanliness, quality furnishings and hospitable welcomes. We count the number of steps up to the property, check the size of the refrigerator, shower, listen for noise, inventory the kitchen equipment and even inspect the mattresses. This is our most important point of differentiation which sets us apart from many other vacation rental firms. Even with careful advance research and personal connections, we still choose to not represent more than 50% of the properties we visit.

Amazing Views and Convenient and Quiet Location
My husband and I spent 4 nights in this apartment in April 2018 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We absolutely enjoyed our stay, including the panoramic 360 views from the bedroom, the sunny terrace and convenient location. When we arrived we were greeted by Christiana and she explained everything clearly from how to use the antique elevator, to how to make italian coffee. Very clean and well stocked. The location was great with lots of good restaurants very close by as well as a great grocery and a wine store. We walked everywhere as the Uffizi was just across the river, Pite palace and Boboli gardens was around the corner. Really everything we wanted to do was minutes away, it would be hard to beat this location. The fact that the apartment is across the river meant that it was quieter at night, which we loved. We even walked to the train station twice, once to catch our wine tour bus, and once when we left, pulling our suitcases with us. In the apartment we found a very complete booklet with recommended restaurants, tours and shops. We tried several of the recommended places and were never disappointed and very pleased to be off the touristy choices. We loved that we could do some laundry as we made Florence the middle stop in our Italy tour between Rome and Venice. The bed was super comfy and roomy. We enjoyed relaxing in the little living room in the evenings when we were not on the terrace or eating out. This is an apartment with real character, and not a modern hotel. So, there were some compromises and challenges. We were somewhat surprised by the very narrow staircase up to the bedroom. This made the trip down to the bathroom in the middle of the night bit hairy, but the views offset the inconvenience. The antique elevator was charming but we did have to climb all 4 flights of stairs once when another resident did not properly close all the elevator doors (all 3 doors must be closed to allow operation). The bathroom was tiny and the only place we could plug in the iron was in the bathroom, which slowed us down a bit. We also did get bit by a few mosquitos as we slept with the windows open the first night, after which we used the little plug in mosquito repellers and slept with the air on as it had gotten quite warm. As long as you understand these challenges up front and are comfortable with them, you will love your stay in the Torella apartment. We would definitely stay there again if we are ever in Florence!
Very few people in Florence have views that compare to the amazing tower bedroom.
I want that tower bedroom in my own house! We loved it. Our greeter Cristiana was sweet and helpful. The apartment is small but it's on two levels, which makes it seem more spacious. It has all of the necessities and comforts that we wanted plus a great location, and a wonderful terrace for wine at the end of the day. Lots and lots of charm. You will remember this one fondly.
Great location, great views
The location is perfect the views are stunning. We enjoyed the terrace, perfect for a drink in the sun before going for dinner. Christiana, our welcomer was great. Very friendly and full of information.
Memorable stay at Torella
My husband and I loved our stay at Torella. The location and the terrace were the highlights, but the property offered so much more. We have no complaints.
This trip was our first time in Italy, so we really appreciate all the information that Italy Perfect provided to us in advance of our trip. They prepared us well, including providing check lists of things to bring (and not to bring), contacts to keep handy, and how to get to places. This information also really helped us manage our expectations of the property, and we were not disappointed. The arrival went as planned with no snags, and was quite efficient. The unit was well stocked with all the cooking, dining, cleaning, bathing and sleeping supplies you might need in a vacation rental. They had coffee and wine and some small snacks. They even had several tour books, reading materials, and maps available. The location was perfect walking distance to all major attractions, yet still had a residential/local feel. The unit had a radio and TV with many channels (several English-speaking). The WIFI was fast and reliable. We loved the ambiance of the building as well, from the beautifully large doors, charming (and working) lift that took us up the five flights, and decorative doorknobs. Everything set the stage for a relaxing and unforgettable stay. We had to call a taxi a few times, and they would always arrive promptly and never more than 3 - 5 minutes wait. There are many restaurants, shops and grocery stores nearby as well. I'm talking like less than a 3 minute walk! Lastly, I can't say enough about the terrace and the view from the bedroom. We spent many nights dining and drinking on the terrace. Often we would gaze out of the bedroom window, and look across at the Arno river, or people watch from a distance at the Uffizi. The views were magnificent and the street noise was minimal. I was able to do a load of laundry (they had detergent for us) and dry it out on the terrace using a drying rack from the unit. I also enjoyed the plants on the terrace! We offered to water them ourselves using the hose and tap on the terrace, rather than have the doorman come in and do it. That really gave it an even homier-feel for us. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay at Torella and would stay again.
Thank you so much for your lovely review Elena, we are delighted you had a wonderful time! The Italy Perfect Team

Fabulous Accommodations in Florence - 5 Stars
The Torella apartment was the perfect place for our 6 day stay in Florence. The location was great. The apartment is very spacious & we loved the upstairs bedroom with the beautiful 360 degree views. The terrace was large and we enjoyed spending time outdoors. The kitchen & refrigerator were great and we got a lot of use out of the washing machine. We walked most of Florence & walked to the train station (20-25 minute walk) for several day trips. The doorman was very helpful in arranging taxi's for us when needed. The building is safe & secure & in a nice area. There is a market & wine store close by & many wonderful restaurants & shopping. We easily took day trips to Sienna, Pisa & Lucca. We did the Fun in Tuscany Chianti wine tour & loved it! We also did the Nude & Food tour with Florence for Foodies, highly recommend this tour. Don't miss the Central Market & great shopping in Florence. We truly enjoyed staying in this apartment!
Thank you Mark, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team
