Other things to note:
Our neighborhood is home to owls that often hoot in the evenings and early mornings—they're quite a delight!
We avoid using pesticides and herbicides to ensure our adorable yard lizards and geckos have plenty of bugs to eat. As a result, you may encounter bugs or spiders outside. While we're located in a neighborhood, we are still very much in the desert. During warm weather, you can expect to see lizards during the day and bats at night. Additionally, the desert environment brings the possibility of encountering wildlife such as snakes, coyotes, bobcats, owls, and hawks.
Because water is so precious in the desert, we do our best to conserve this vital resource. We have a primitive outdoor shower that you’re welcome to use if you’d like. The water from this shower flows to a young mulberry tree that we hope will one day produce delicious fruit. Hummingbirds sometimes drop in when they hear the water running, and if you've never showered alongside hummingbirds and butterflies or watched a sunrise or sunset while bathing outdoors, you're in for a truly magical experience!
