This property was wonderful! My husband and I loved the views, porch, wildlife, location, and set up of the house. The space was clean and check in/out was easy! It was perfect for us! We even locked ourselves out of the house and help arrived within 20 minutes to let us back in! We look forward to staying here again!

Black Mountains View

We stayed in the upstairs apartment and had a stunning view of the Black Mountain range from the deck as well as inside the living area. Spent a lot of time relaxing and enjoying the view. The apartment had everything we needed with plenty of space for the two of us. We fixed breakfast in the kitchen every morning and got takeout for several other meals. Just enjoyed our meals in this beautiful. serene setting. Hope to return some day.

New Years getaway

The house was beautiful! We loved the fact that it is pet friendly. Our dogs are terrified of fireworks, so we wanted a place that would be quiet and no fireworks for New Years Eve. We got just that! The location is good. It was only about an hour from Asheville so we went to the Biltmore. There is a wood burning fireplace and as cold as it was, we definitely took advantage of that. The view from the porch was amazing at anytime of the day or night. I would definitely stay again.

I absolutely loved the view from the big deck, its on the side of the mountain, the road up was actually fun! I felt very welcomed by the Manager over the phone, clean, bright space. Watching the weather over the, not so distant, mountains was GREAT. For your first day/night, I suggest driving up the roads during the day. Go relax and enjoy! I know I did. Best, Lena '23

Perfect!

Loved the quiet, mountaintop neighborhood. The views are exactly as pictured, if not better. Secluded but only about 6 miles away from town. Just a warning, roads to the house can be a little trying if you’re not used to sloping gravel roads but I have to say that the roads here were better than most mountain cabins I’ve been too. I rented the upstairs unit and the cleanliness and the communication from host was perfect. Hiking up and down the mountain was also fun. WiFi And cellular reception can be spotty but that’s to be expected. Gail’s a perfect host.

Relaxing and Amazing Views!

My husband and I took a long weekend to the mountains for some relaxation and beautiful views and that is exactly what we got! The place had wonderful views and rocking chairs to enjoy it. You could also sit in the living room and enjoy the beautiful views with all the windows. The house was nicely stocked with everything you may need: toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, q-tips, soap, shampoo, trash bags, small appliances, towels, etc. The WiFi went out the second night we were there, so I emailed the owner and by the next morning it was back up and operating. We would definitely stay again. The road to get up the mountain is a gravel road with some ruts, but I didn’t expect anything different staying on top a mountain. It just added to the atmosphere.

The place was absolutely gorgeous and the view was simply stunning! Me and my husband had such a wonderful time and location was great!! We loved how spacious it was and absolutely spotless, that definitely was a plus! The only thing I would say the bed could be a little comfier but other than that we definitely want to come back!

I booked this for myself and my boyfriend as a birthday present for him. We loved the location- view was amazing! Only disappointing thing was the interior. There was no couch - only 2 individual chairs, the furnishings were outdated, and the bed was very very hard for our liking. We didn't spend too much time in the unit, as we explored hikes and asheville, so it wasn't too much of an issue, but wouldn't take too much to update a few items to make this a truly amazing rental!

The rental property was very enjoyable but a little bit dated no 1 the entrance door requires attention as it has gaps around it which allows Ants and other critters to enter the home this would be easily fixed if a new door was installed holiday home is very well appointed I can not list everything but a few with every thing you could ask for ie, washers and dryers toasters fridge nice furniture television in two rooms comfortable bed with on suite bathroom cutlery and glasses and plates of all descriptions the rental has amazing views out the massive front window and the deck ample parking and a fire pit and a hose to wash mud of the car among other things I am booked to use it again for the later this month and a few days into August

What a view!

View from this rental is SPECTACULAR! We also really enjoyed the location - proximity to Burnsville and the Parkway - yet out in the country - really fun every time we traveled to and from the rental property. Love the large windows to the East as well! Gail is excellent in answering any and all questions - quick to respond and thorough. As others have noted, the decorations in the rental are dated; a couple of area rugs would also be so nice to make the place more homey and to help with sound echoes. BUT that being said, you can see the colors and decorations in the pictures provided - no secrets! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat for the views and location.

I selected this property for the views, they are truly incredible. About a 15 minute ride outside Burnsville, up a lovely winding well maintained gravel road to the 2 story home with direct views to Mt. Mitchell and the Black Mountains. We took day trips daily, usually involving drives of about an hour or so to Mt. Mitchell, Mt. Mitchell golf course, Linville Cavern, Linville Falls, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Boone and fly fished the Cane River for wild troutand visited the Biltmore Estate. The Pig and Grits in Burnsville serves a very nice breakfast as does the Applacian Java downtown. For Dinner the Snap Dragon and Hog Hollow and Rio Mexican. Nice grocery store, Engals in town along with McDonald's, Bojangles, Hardes, Pizza Hut and Burger King, much more than any other of the small mountain towns. Centering out of Burnsville was the right call. Weather in 70s in daytime, 50s at night. You do have to dispose of your own trash at the Burnsville transfer station but we did so every other day on our way out for our daily trips. It was perfect. Out in the mountains but everything within daily reach.

Breathtaking view

The views were absolutely beautiful, the house is dated but very clean and had everything needed for cooking etc. I have given a 4 star rating because we were not expecting to do laundry and clean the house up while on vacation. We had a very active trip planned and did not spend a whole lot of time at the house and I was a little stressed trying to figure out when I could strip the bed and launder the towels and sheets before leaving. We were gone from 8am-11pm the night before leaving and had to get up extra early to do laundry so we could leave at our planned time of 8am, not really what I wanted to worry about on our trip. I feel that if there is a cleaning fee paid then I shouldn't have to clean before leaving.

Hummingbird capital of the Great Smokies.

Hummingbirds are my favorite. Way to much energy. One morning they were waiting for me to put out the feeder, when I hung it on the hook in a half a second I had one less than a foot from me. I didn't know they have a little chirp. Never have I been that close to one. With the back ground of the Smokies with in the morning fog it was spectacular. I will definitely be back. What an experience. So quite and relaxing, on a rocking chair, over looking the mountains. I just would have liked to see a bear. Maybe next time.

Amazing views with complete solitude

The views from this property are unbeatable! Watching the sun rise from the balcony every morning was breathtaking and we had the place to ourselves for the majority of the long weekend. The only down side is the distance from everything. You’re high up a very long dirt road which lends itself to a peaceful retreat but going out took some careful maneuvering. Town left much to be desired but luckily Ashville and the Blue Ridge Parkway were about an hour away. Perfect if you want a great peaceful retreat but not near anything.

Very isolated

The view and house were great. The road to the view and house is not for the faint hearted. And old logging road that winds it's way up to the top of a ridge on gravel. Once we got acclimated it was fine during the day, but would not navigate it after dark. If you are mountain lovers, you will love this place. Only about 1/2 hour to town and restaurants.
