My family of 11 stayed five nights in this house. It was a wonderful wonderful time. It was close to everything. We spent a lot of time at Acadia. We were at the ocean. We went to many of the restaurants. We did lots of hiking and everything was very accessible. The house was great. It was so quiet at night and we had gorgeous weather. I give it a five star recommendation.

We had a great time in Acadia and exploring the “other side” of the island. The house accommodated our family of 12 very well, it has a lot of space throughout although a very quirky floor plan. If you love old 1850's houses in fair condition this is the place for you. The location turned out great, the yard was very nice for outdoor activities and the front porch was a great gathering area. The kitchen is split into 2 rooms but works well and is well stocked and has new appliances. The house has 3 stairways. All are Very steep and maybe not recommended for those with mobility issues or with small children. There is a washing machine but no dryer, lots of drying racks and clothes lines but tough to dry things in damp weather. Although pets are not allowed it is obvious that pets live there when not rented.

What makes this property unique
This property has many "Easter eggs" depending on when you visit. Enjoy fresh vegetables from the vegetable garden, fresh strawberries from the strawberry beds or pick wild Maine blueberries in the field. In the fall enjoy the fall foliage or pick apples from the mature apple trees. You will be staying in a restored Victorian farmhouse with many original features. We are 30 minutes from Bar Harbor, 15 minutes from Bass Harbor Lighthouse and 5 minutes from Acadia National Park. Don't let a rainy day get you down, Seal Cove Auto Museum is a mile up the road. They always have activities for the kids and you can enjoy looking at the beautiful antique cars. Don't be afraid to drink the water, you won't be sorry. The town landing is less than a mile away, with picnic table for a perfect picnic by the ocean. (Fun fact you can see the end of Rumill Road from the dock)
