Great Vacation

It was very a nice place to stay. It had a lot of accomodations. Everything worked out. The only thing that would be an improvement is the wi-fi but it was also nice to have that good quality family time without the screen time. Great fishing and the quality times

We enjoyed ourselves but were dismayed at how weedy the lake was and the annoying weed cutting machine for2 days. The ad for the property was misleading as it sounded like we were on BalsamLake.The deck facing the lake was dirty we had to sweep it off and wipe tables off to use them.We made the best of it all and the fishing was good. Still had a fun time.

Relaxing getaway

The house was very comfortable and spacious--loved the layout, it had a pleasant "open" feel and lovely view of the lake. We had everything we needed with kitchen, laundry, balcony and deck, bedding and towels, and boats were a big plus. The tap water tasted clean and very good, which is not always the case on vacation! Fishing for northern was good from kayaks and we could catch some bluegills and bass off the pier. We went at the end of May, and the mosquitoes were fierce on the first day when it was rainy and cloudy, but not nearly as bad on the sunny, slightly windy days. The lake was very weedy, but a machine was working on cutting down the weeds while we were there. We spent one afternoon at Fawn-Doe-Rosa wildlife park, which was delightful--great place to take children to see animals up close. Also went hiking at Interstate Park, which has spectacular scenery for short hikes. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would gladly come back again!

Successful Fishing Trip

My brothers-in-law and I stayed at this cabin for a fishing weekend and had a great time. Though White Ash Lake is small, we caught a lot of fish including some larger Northern and Bass. The cabin itself is comfortable and clean and was a good space for the three of us. The only drawback to note is there is no WiFi, so be prepared if you need cell service. We hope to be back again next year!

Peaceful and serenity

Lovely deck to sit on ..perfect view of the lake looking down lots of woodpeckers for entertainment.. enjoyed kayaking to the other adjoining Lake and saw a few loons as well

Great place to stay

My kids had a wonderful time once they worked up the courage to jump off the end of the dock. Cabin is very nice and well taken care of.

Weekend getaway

Cabin was very clean and kitchen equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. We really enjoyed using the kayaks that were available to use. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic

Loved the location, bring your fishing pole. The kids can catch plenty of fish off the dock. If your lucky you can catch the 24" northern I returned to the lake, just from fishing from the dock with a top water. The owners were very welcoming. There are plenty of things to keep you occupied. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for everyone.

Perfect vacation!

We had an absolutely perfect stay at Balsam Lake. The house was exactly what we expected. Very well taken care of, clean and had everything we needed. It was wonderful having 5 Kayaks and a canoe to take on the peaceful lake. The neighbors were friendly and Bill the caretaker was very kind and is just up the road if you need him. We had plenty of room inside and out, we had 6 people in all. The gas grill on the deck was great and we used it for every meal. It’s a close drive to Amery if you need anything . The only negative is the mosquitos but that is to be expected with so much water and woods near by.

Great well equipped cabin on White Ash Lake!

Wonderful cabin on a small quiet lake. We stayed there with another couple a year ago and enjoyed it so much we returned again this year. The cabin had everything we needed. The guys had good success fishing in the North White Ash Lake. We girls went to Winehaven Winery in Chisago City, MN one day and to The Dancing Dragonfly Winery in St. Croix Falls, WI another day. Had been to both a year ago and enjoyed our time there. Ate out two evenings, one at Sue's Bar & Grill south of Osceola, WI, for all you can eat wings on Wednesday nights--Fantastic, for well under $10. We also had all you can eat ribs at The Thirsty Otter in Balsam Lake, which they do on Thursday nights. Excellent as well! The cabin has a garage that is well equipped for cleaning fish. Enjoyed sitting down by the docks or on one of the decks. All in all, a very relaxing place to stay!

Great time for our family vacation!

The place was exactly as described, and was perfect for a family of 5. The extra amenities like the Kayak's and the Row boat were a nice added benefit. The fishing was fantastic and the home was neat and clean. We really had a great time with only one exception and this was not the owners fault. The lake was too weedy to swim so we could not just jump in to cool off. The boating and fishing made up for it and the caretaker checked in on us just enough to make us feel at home. 5 stars and thank you for sharing your home! Andrew

Good fun mom's get away weekend

Plenty of room had everything we needed,took out the kayaks and row boat wish we would have been able to use the pontoon or have the option to pay more to use it ,no wifi or phone to use ,but other than that we had fun .

Peaceful and quiet lake house

The house was nice, clean, and set up very useful. The lake was good for fishing and small boats however not so good for swimming. Very weedy and mucky around shore. A ramp or a ladder on the dock would have provided a way to get in and out of the water, if you did choose to float around. You could NOT put a foot down by the dock, it was too muddy. We saw a family of SWANS swim by and then turn around and fly by. Very cool. The paddle over to the big lake through the channel was very pretty. A map of the lake would be useful. And add a note in the description that you can get to both lakes. Very peaceful and quiet. The owners were very polite to deal with, and care taker Bill responded quickly to our Bee issue, and came by.

Escape to White Ash Lake!

The home was a great location...so peaceful! Kitchen allowed for all of us to gather and enjoy our time together while keeping an eye on the beautiful lake out back. The owners had it stocked with most things necessary, could have used a few more cooking staples in the cupboard/but not a bid deal. There was only 1 blanket offered and no extra pillows for the pullout bed, so maybe bring an extra with you...We loved that they had 3 kayaks with paddles..and the row boat..as we all were able to get out and discover the lake. Bring your fishing pole if you fish...it looked like great fishing! The owners were VERY accommodating and even allowed us extra time for check out due to the rain we had..That made a HUGE difference for us and we really appreciated their willingness to work with us! Loved our stay!!

Quiet Lake Cabin

If you're familiar with the area then you're going to get exactly what you'd want and expect. A quiet, lake side cabin well stocked for your stay. We caught plenty of lake fish (sunnies, perch, northern pike - you'll need to bring your own fishing poles) right off the small dock.

Nice cabin for a friend getaway

This place was clean and had everything we needed for a nice relaxing vacation. The kayaks, canoe and row boat made for a nice time on the lake. The lake is very peaceful, but not very good for swimming if you dislike weeds like I do. We would definitely go again.
