About the property

Light, Contemporary 4BR/3.5BA Townhome On Trail Creek, Easy Walk To SV & Ketchum

Seclusion and privacy in the heart of greater Sun Valley - this location is impossible to improve upon! Add in the restful presence of a beautiful stream just off the deck, and the lovely deciduous aspens and cottonwoods nourished by its waters - it's a nature setting that would be hard to replicate even miles from the resort center. Yet in Bitterroot you are an easy walk or bike to either Sun Valley Village or Ketchum town center. Accessed by a private lane off SV Road, there is practically no vehicular traffic in this protected little sanctuary. But on foot or bike you needn't follow the road: there's a footbridge over the creek leading into town!

The townhome is a half duplex with its two-sided deck practically hanging out over the creek, a private hot tub tucked into one corner. The ample square footage, high ceilings, smooth flooring and abundant natural light make the space easy for 8 people, while the generous pricing allows for smaller groups to choose extra space and privacy. A wide-open floor plan opening to the spacious deck on the main level is set up for cooking, sipping, dining, sun bathing, games, TV and probably dancing all at the same time. Two bedrooms, one up and one down, have ensuite baths perfect for couples, while the other two bedrooms share a convenient bathroom with double vanities and separate tub/shower.

Why Brian Emerick with Mountain Lifestyles Property Services, Inc. chose Ketchum

It's such a roomy, well-designed floorplan, with wonderful summer outdoor space. Such a relaxing atmosphere with such spectacular convenience. We looked around and could not improve upon this location, size and quality.

What makes this townhome unique

Probably the most unique thing is how you feel like you're a million miles from civilization but can pick up and be at an event, store, coffee shop or athletic facility literally within five minutes. The area being so traffic-free is just perfect for a vacation - no concern for the kids as they cruise around on their bikes.

We (a group of 8 adults- 3 couples and 2 adult children) arrived after dark, which, along with 8 feet high snow piles, presented some difficulty finding the home. Upon entering the rental, we were quite happy with the layout, clean/updated furnishings, comfortable bedding, well-supplied kitchen, etc. The location on the babbling creek was beautiful! I did rearrange the refrigerator to keep our items somewhat separated from items left behind (and, we were told, available for our use if wanted); it was a large refrigerator so there was plenty of space for our items. We were in town to ski and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves; we were only 5 minutes drive from the River Run lift area. The hot tub, on back patio next to creek, was clean and relaxing.

We were given permission to bring a dog with us, which involved no extra $$, and to make use of a late checkout of 2 pm, but, we needed neither. The dog stayed behind and we packed up on the last morning to make use of a full day of skiing before we left for the Jackson Hole area (we were making use of Mtn Collective passes, skiing Alta/Snowbird in SLC, Sun Valley and Jackson Hole; about 4-5 hours drive between each location).

No more than 3 cars can be parked at the home, exactly what we needed. The parking area was fairly icy upon our arrival so we were all very careful. All in all, we all thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay and wished we had a few more nights to stay in this lovely home. We would not hesitate to book this rental again!

The house was comfortable and conveniently located.

  • 3 of 5

We wanted to love the property but there were a couple of major issues. The hot tub was not working and there was not enough hot water for showers. There were 6 of us staying at the house that advertised it could sleep 8 but there was only enough hot water for 3 showers. That in my mind is a deal breaker for a ski cabin. I have my own ski cabin elsewhere and don't rent out but with 4 in my family I know how it works everyone wants a shower after a day of skiing , especially if the hot tub doesn't work which it did not here. I would suggest either getting a larger or 2nd hot water tank. We also experienced mice on the ground floor. Maybe have someone check this out I understand in the fall and beginning of winter but not the end of Feb. other wise well equipped and located.

The perfect place to enjoy Ketchum/Sun Valley/Sawtooth Wilderness

  • 5 of 5

We are a group of friends who come together to enjoy a time of hiking, conversation, good food and drink, all in a beautiful place. Last week represented our 21st consecutive year together. We all agreed that this wonderful house was the best so far. The superlatives range from its location, which is a quiet, peaceful residential area within easy walking distance of both Ketchum and Sun Valley Resort to the pleasure of great beds, comfortable furniture for hanging out, a superbly outfitted kitchen, working fireplace and outdoor grill, and hot tub overlooking a lovely stream. On our hiking trips, we usually go out in the evening, in order to enjoy the local restaurants. But here, all we wanted to do was stay home and enjoy our house! Finally, a shout-out to those who manage the rental of this property. They were always accessible with answers to questions, advice, and follow through. I am sure that if there had been a problem, they would have been on top of it immediately, but there never was a problem, only happiness in being there.

This place on Bitteroot is amazing! everything about it is a winner. It is tastefully appointed, has everything you could need for staying in, cooking, games, hot tup etc, etc, etc. We loved it! The property management company very good too. Super accommodating and easy to work with.

Easy stroll into town too. And the rushing river it is located on was lovely. There is nothing even slightly negative I could come up with to say about this place. We had a great time in Sun Valley and a big part of it was this wonderful home. Thank you very much

Excellent rental experience

  • 4 of 5

The highlight of our stay was the convenient location. We were so close to town, yet felt off the beaten path in the quiet neighborhood of Bitterroot. The home was well equipped and well stocked with extra essentials like towels, basic kitchen goods, and extra bedding. The outdoor deck with the hot tub and views of Lost Creek view was very nice touch. We would gladly stay there on our next visit.

One of Sun Valley's loveliest neighborhoods, Bitterroot follows lovely Trail Creek as it descends a short mile from the village of Sun Valley into the town of Ketchum. This town home sits right on the banks of the creek, and in summer leafy aspen and cottonwood trees make it a sylvan setting.
