Spacious, 2 bedroom apartment, sleeps 4, in historic central Edinburgh
No 1 Bellevue Terrace is a charming city-centre main door, two-bedroom apartment situated on the ground floor of an impressive Georgian building in the east of Edinburgh's historic 18th Century New Town. The large apartment has recently been tastefully restored with a chic new kitchen, carpets and fresh colour schemes throughout.
Original details such as original flagstones in the entrance hall have been exposed, which set a stylish tone on entering.
The apartment has two spacious bedrooms and can sleep four comfortably. The double has two huge windows offering peaceful garden views to the rear. At the front, the bright and airy twin room has charming views over public gardens and a colonnaded neo classical church. Both rooms offer generous storage space. There is also a cot bed available.
Located close to vibrant Broughton Street with its restaurants, bars and shops, it is only ten minutes walk from the city centre, Harvey Nichols, visitor attractions and the serene & historic Royal Botanical Gardens.

About Kate Carrick-Buchanan
My husband, Angus and I have lived and had property in this area of Edinburgh for over 18 years. We moved out of Edinburgh 10 years ago and have gradually built up a holiday cottage business on our country estate in Galloway, south west Scotland. In addition to our Edinburgh apartment, we have three holiday houses on the estate and a further one in the pretty harbour village of Portpatrick.
Kate Carrick-Buchanan purchased this Apartment in 2006
Why Kate Carrick-Buchanan chose Bonnington
When we moved out of Edinburgh to south west Scotland, where we run a holiday cottage and farming business on the coast of Galloway, we wanted a base in town. Angus looked at lots of flats, but they were either up many flights of stairs, with shared stairwells, or dark basements. And then we found this one, which was under our very noses – right across the road from our house. Being on the ground floor with its own main front door, 1 Bellevue Terrace was just right. We love it as it’s a great base to explore the city, shop – you can walk everywhere. Although the decor was not at all to our taste, Angus immediately saw the potential , we bought it and then set to work transforming it. We’ve now been welcoming guests to our apartment for nearly nine years.

Roomy, clean apartment
Lovely apartment with large, comfy rooms. Host was very good in communicating, check in on our arrival to make sure we were comfortable.
Impressive and comfortable, stylish and spacious
Felt like a real luxury experience and it was a privilege to stay in such a wonderful apartment. Great location, too. The whole family loved it.
Location great for sightseeing.
So well equipped, roomy , decorated lovely nice area.

Beautiful space, facilities and wonderful location
Kate was extremely good in communication details, and the space was lovely.
Many thanks indeed for coming to stay at our Edinburgh apartment and for taking the time to leave us a review - we're so pleased you enjoyed your stay and we do hope to welcome you back again in the not too distant future.
Perfectly Wonderful Georgian Accommodation
Just love all the space, the decor, the ambience. Comfortable beds and always well cleaned. The main bedroom at the back is wonderfully quiet, if you need a long lie. There's plenty of games for children and the kitchen is very well equipped for all eventualities. You could even bake a cake, should you want to!
Though small, in comparison to the other rooms, the bathroom is just fine. With older properties, it's of course harder to make additional changes. Great for families!
Even better if there were 2 bathrooms!
We've been returning annually for the Fringe and enjoy occasional short breaks at other times.
Bellevue Terrace is a great location: near enough to the action yet far enough to relax. Restaurants within 3 minutes walk as well as Michelin stars just down the road.
I'd strongly recommend this property to anyone visiting Edinburgh throughout the year. It's not going to get much better than this!
Many thanks indeed for taking the time to leave us such a detailed and glowing review - it's much appreciated. We love having such loyal guests who come back year after year and we very much look forward to welcoming you back for the Festival next year.
Perfect for visiting the city
Elegant and comfortable flat in a great location. The rooms are as in the photos, spacious with lovely high ceilings, a joy to come home to after a day's tourism. The flat was clean, well equipped and had everything we needed. Location is in a quiet residential area but just some 15 minutes walk from centre and from the train station, and with shops nearby. A couple of minutes away in Broughton Street there are several pubs, restaurants and cafes. Instructions were clear and easy and Kate was on hand should we have needed anything. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review and thank you for choosing our apartment for your holiday with the family in Edinburgh. We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay and I do hope we'll be able to welcome you back soon.
Bellevue Apartment is spacious and well located on the east of Edinburgh's historic New Town - a World Heritage Site which is renown for its impressive neo-classical buildings and architecture. It is a stone's throw from Broughton Street, a buzzing neighbourhood with masses of restaurants, bars, delis and specialist boutiques and gift shops. It is a 15 minute walk to the exclusive Edinburgh central shopping district centred on George Street. For an uplifting stroll at any time of the year, the Botanical Gardens are a short walk to the north of the apartment. From a cultural perspective, the Playhouse Theatre is also close by - approximately ten minutes on foot - which sees many West End productions visiting from Mama Mia to Miss Saigon and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; as are art galleries including the Scottish National Portrait Gallery.
