Thank you so very much for allowing us to stay in your absolutely lovely and cozy home.We have loved staying in your very clean and well stocked vacation home and really appreciate all of the thoughtful extras included in the rental. Your home was a perfect location for exploring all that this region has to offer. The central location was wonderful. we loved coming back here each day after much adventure and exploring. The views are wonderful and perfect for relaxing after a long day with a glass of wine in the gazebo! We came here feeling depleted and exhausted and will leave feeling happy and rejuvenated! What a surprise!

  • 5 of 5

After a long day of traveling, there's always a moment of trepidation walking into your rental house/apt. Will this be a dream or a nightmare? As we walked into the Crow's Nest on a clear blue summer afternoon, we all breathed a collective sigh of relief. It was clear that this visit was not only going to be comfortable and pleasant, it was going to be special. The place was spotless and stocked with all the necessities, including a kitchen with every doodad you could think of. Plenty of clean towels, simple internet, etc. But what hit you first is the view - practically 180 degrees of serene blue gorgeousness, and the cute, perfectly realized nautical decor.

We actually dropped all our plans for finding decent restaurants nearby and instead drove the five minutes down the hill to the organic market and stocked up for three evenings of dining in.

I doubt any restaurant in town could have matched the quiet perfection of sitting perched high atop a seaside hill in midsummer just watching the Vancouver cruise ships heading out into the sunset one after another...

Lovely.

Great cottage-just as described!

  • 5 of 5

The place was really clean and neat. Comfy furniture, cable TV, stereo ( no aux jack). Nice outdoor patio and view just as nice as described. There is a telescope to help look at ships coming and going. Kitchen has all the equipment you need- some odds & ends condiments/spices also there. There was laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, bar soap ( hotel style) but no shampoo. Driving up to the cottage may remind you of a back alley- but no worries, it is really a street and very quiet neighborhood. I definitely would stay again. Two of us stayed-one in each bedroom-it was plenty of room for us

If it matters to you the recycling guidelines were non-existent but there were 3 trash bins outside... What they are for I will never know.

Best vacation home in Port Angeles

  • 5 of 5

We rented the Crows Nest for four nights, and now wish we had rented it for a week. It is an absolutely pristine little home with the most fantastic view of the Straight of Juan De Fuca . You can watch cruise ships, cargo ships, and fishing boats travel right outside your back yard. You also can see Vancouver Island and Victoria across the Strait .It probably has the best view in Port Angeles. It also has all the amenities you need to feel at home. Will definitely be staying here again.

Comfortable with spectacular views!

  • 5 of 5

The house is very comfortable in a nice quiet neighborhood. Very well kept and decorated and extremely well furnished and stocked.

I will admit to a bit of concern as we drove up and I saw that there was some amount of industry on the waterfront at the foot of the hill below the back yard. And yes, there was a bit of noise while we were there, mostly of tractors moving lumber around the yard. But don't let this scare you away: the view was beyond outstanding. When it was clear, you could see Victoria BC north across the strait and even Mount Baker way off near the Washington / Canadian border! Plus the constant flow of traffic on the strait: tankers, container ships, cruise ships and all sorts of other boats. For me (coming from landlocked Austin) there was never a dull moment looking out the picture windows in the back.

We toured the area while we were there (whale watching, Olympic National Park) and enjoyed the town (good restaurants, good beer, great seafood). Port Angeles is a very cool town to hang out in. And it was always nice to go back to our quiet little hideaway for some rest.

Just a couple of notes/nits:

-It does only have one bathroom, so keep that in mind

-There didn't seem to be any recycling container even though Port Angeles does do recycling. I felt bad throwing all that stuff away that rightly belonged in the recycling.

Views for miles!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 4 nights at The Crow's Nest and loved it. The house had everything we needed, but the view was definitely our favorite part. In fact, it's even possible to watch the sunrise while lying in bed in the upstairs bedroom. There is a full kitchen that is very well stocked. Another favorite feature is the cute gazebo in the backyard which we enjoyed every morning for breakfast and the again to relax in the evening. The location made for easy access to Olympic National Park, whale watching tours, and to take the ferry to Victoria, B.C.. There is plenty of room for two couples and children although you should be aware that you must walk through the smallest bedroom to get to the main upstairs bedroom. We would definitely stay here again.

Two Days at the Crow's Nest

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage, fabulous view, well-equipped and close to town without being in it; very quiet neighborhood. My only negative comment is that the cleaning fee ($60+) was excessive for the two nights we three clean, single women spent there. Especially considering we were "asked" to start the towels in the washing machine before we left!
