Great view in a comfortable home.
Nice cottage feel with large windows and fabulous view. Would definitely stay again.
Great views and perfect location! I’ll be back...
House has everything you need. Perfect location and quiet area.
Great view of sunrises and snow capped mountains
We arrived to find a tidy house and lovely location. It was nice to find some common essentials in the cabinets, such as salt and pepper, coffee filters, ice and even some butter spread in the frig. The view from the upstairs bedroom was amazing. We would have stayed there except it was a double bed (just a little tight to be comfortable for 2 adults), and there wasn't a bathroom on the second floor.
There were plenty of pots and dishes and anything else you needed to dine in. The gas grill on the back patio was ample for a small family. We were fortunate that we stayed during the Labor Day weekend, so there wasn't any laborers at the lumber processing plant below at the docks. It was a great quiet neighborhood. Once in a while we saw some folks next door, but overall it was very serene. The landscaping was lovely, and we enjoyed watching all the hummingbirds in the back yard. Perhaps the home should be renamed to Hummingbird Nest.
This home offered a great location as home base to explore the Olympic Peninsula. With the ferry in Port Angeles it was very convenient to visit Victoria, BC-just be sure to bring your passport.
Cozy Cottage with a Amazing View
A quaint, somewhat dated cottage on a bluff overlooking the Straits of Juan de Fuca. A large space for a family of 4. In a safe neighborhood, minutes from most everything in Port Angeles. Was a great base for exploring the Olympic Peninsula and a day trip across to Victoria, Canada.
Full kitchen and large living room. Only one bath, kinda small, might be a problem for more than 4 people. The backyard and the view might be the best in all of Port Angeles...second to none. I could have spent the whole time there just watching the ships sail pass. It is very relaxing and mostly private. The owner provided a couple of pairs of Bino's and a spotting scope, I brought my own bino's and could watch seals in the harbor below. We would not hesitate to rent this cottage again.
What a surprise!
After a long day of traveling, there's always a moment of trepidation walking into your rental house/apt. Will this be a dream or a nightmare? As we walked into the Crow's Nest on a clear blue summer afternoon, we all breathed a collective sigh of relief. It was clear that this visit was not only going to be comfortable and pleasant, it was going to be special. The place was spotless and stocked with all the necessities, including a kitchen with every doodad you could think of. Plenty of clean towels, simple internet, etc. But what hit you first is the view - practically 180 degrees of serene blue gorgeousness, and the cute, perfectly realized nautical decor.
We actually dropped all our plans for finding decent restaurants nearby and instead drove the five minutes down the hill to the organic market and stocked up for three evenings of dining in.
I doubt any restaurant in town could have matched the quiet perfection of sitting perched high atop a seaside hill in midsummer just watching the Vancouver cruise ships heading out into the sunset one after another...
Great cottage-just as described!
The place was really clean and neat. Comfy furniture, cable TV, stereo ( no aux jack). Nice outdoor patio and view just as nice as described. There is a telescope to help look at ships coming and going. Kitchen has all the equipment you need- some odds & ends condiments/spices also there. There was laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, bar soap ( hotel style) but no shampoo. Driving up to the cottage may remind you of a back alley- but no worries, it is really a street and very quiet neighborhood. I definitely would stay again. Two of us stayed-one in each bedroom-it was plenty of room for us
If it matters to you the recycling guidelines were non-existent but there were 3 trash bins outside... What they are for I will never know.
Loaded with charm, the Crow's Nest is a real treat. Located in Port Angeles with dynamic views in all directions. From the Coast Guard Station to Mt. Baker, the view is nothing short of stupendous. You will see everything the shipping lane has to offer. Talk about doing nothing, this is the place to do just that.
