The neutral and earth tones in this unit are contrasted with black and pops of color for a soothing-yet-fun atmosphere. The living room includes a solid-color queen sleeper sofa and a floral arm chair and matching ottoman, all of which face the entertainment center with its flat-screen TV, stereo and DVD player flanked by two storage cube stools. The kitchen boasts a flat-top stove and white appliances nestled between wood-grain cabinets. The rattan and glass dining table and four rattan chairs with cushioned seats complete the tiled main living areas. You can also look out over the free-form pool, tennis courts and lagoon as you enjoy meals, drinks or reading on the tiled deck furnished with a round, wood-top cocktail table and three chairs. The carpeted queen master bedroom includes a wicker queen bed and nightstand with lamp, and the neutral colors are accented by the muted, multi-color floral comforter. The bathroom includes a tub with shower and a single sink. Bedroom two offers the same carpet, bed, nightstand and lamp as the master, but with an earthtone comforter. Wireless Internet available in the unit.
We really enjoyed our stay. That was our first time in Gulf Shore's and it was a pleasant stay. The condo was very clean. And we loved being up on the top floor. My husband and our two girls will be back and we are hoping to be on the same floor that we were on. We loved the condo everything was nice I loved the kitchen. To be honest we were sad to leave. We loved that we could walk to the beach.
The unit was in a very nice location within the building, on the 6th floor overlooking the pool. The only issues we had involved some coke or dark drink was spilled on the wall that was not cleaned up prior to our stay and the dryer vent was not attached. These items were quickly fixed/cleaned after calling the management co. Even though the unit was non-smoking, someone near our unit was a smoker and it was a problem several evenings when we were trying to use the balcony. My kids had to go inside at one point because it was so strong. The hot tub was overrun by small kids, I mean 4, 5, 6 year olds and up most days. Most days it was easy to swim, with little competition in the pool. It was a very nice view of the bay and just a short walk to the gulf. All in all I would say it was a nice location, but we will be looking for something (another location next year) with a bit stronger on-site enforcement of rules, such as the hot tub rule that only allowed adults, but was not enforced.
We have stayed in this condo twice with our two young kids. It's a high floor and gave us great views of the bay out the back, and beach out the front. The pool area is great, there is a beach by the lagoon in the back that's great for young kids that is swarming with hermit crabs. There is even a fishing doc out back for those that like to fish.
The condo itself was perfect for us. The kitchen was updated and we used the supplied dishes/silverware to make dinner daily. The two beds were comfy, there is a washer/dryer in the unit, and it was plenty big for our family of 4 (we spent most of the time at the beach or in the pool anyways!). The outside patio is very peaceful at night. The location is away from all the high rise condo buildings too, which makes the beach much less busy. Highly recommended for those that want to get away!
GSSR is across the street from the gulf, but it's an easy walk and seems even closer than some places I've stayed that are gulf side. The pool is nice, landscaping is beautiful, and my children love picking hermit crabs out of the bay and fishing from the pier. There are a lot of families here, so your children will have other kids to play with. If you're vacationing without the kids, however, you might want to go somewhere else.
Pros of this unit:
Updated kitchen, new furniture in living and dining area, washer & dryer, nice view of the bay and pool area, decent sized balcony with table and chairs
Carpet in the bedrooms is worn, dust coated the wall above the tv in the master bedroom, sliding door in the living room is extremely difficult to close, screens on the sliding doors were both off track and couldn't be used, and there was no hair dryer.
All in all, it's not a bad place to stay and overall, I would recommend it for a family with children.
