This land was purchased on Valentines Day 2008 and has become a true love of mine. The framework and log railings have all come from the property. A work in process, it gets better every month. Building this cabin has been a most rewarding hobby. An avid do it yourselfer and hobbyist I have filled the cabin and land with very personal touches.

Quiet, Clean, Secluded... Just what was needed
I took my 10 year old son here last weekend to have "the talk" and needed a quiet, clean place to make it special and minimize distractions. Ginger's cabin fit the bill.
This cabin is quiet, immaculate, and deep in the woods. Upon arrival, I had doubts as the exterior looked as though it was in need of a power wash, but upon closer inspection, I think it was just the lighting (we arrived late in the day). Once we walked inside it was immaculate. Everything was clean, organized, and comfortable. There was no musty smell as you might expect from a cabin, and there was more than adequate lighting in the cabin to chase away all the shadows. It was a little warm, so we opened the windows to air it out, and Ginger had provided some fans that we used to expedite the process.
Inspected the beds and found them to be clean and comfortable, and I had a great night's sleep on the full-size bed. My son also said the twin bed was comfortable as well. After getting situated I walked outside to find that firewood (both kindling and some logs) had already been collected and stored near the fire pit, which was a relief because I had promised my son s'mores and then ran out of time to bring my own firewood.
We used the front porch and found it perfectly sized for two. I also used the kitchen and found that all the needed dishes were there. We found some condiments left in the fridge but opted not to use them because I wasn't sure if they were left intentionally for us or how old they were.
All in all a wonderful stay. Went too fast! I'm going to bring my wife and daughter here sometime soon, although we'll have to figure out where to sleep the second kid.
Only a few minor reasons I didn't give it 5 stars - First, there was some unfinished construction - the wall behind the fridge, behind the fireplace, and the upstairs loft ceiling weren't complete and had exposed drywall, etc. Also, the siding on the upper story had not been painted, and there was a bottom row of siding missing on one side. It didn't take away from our stay but it did subtract from the ambiance. Second reason is there appears to be a carpenter bee or mason bee issue on the front porch. I noted a few holes in the wood siding with bees going in and out. I'm not afraid of them as they are generally a docile and/or non-stinging bee but I know it would make my wife nervous had she been there. Third, not enough comfortable seating. I agree with the review that another comfy chair would be ideal.
When you arrive at a new location it is always scary till you walk inside. Our fear was overcome with the beautiful wood on the walls and floor and the unique stone work . The beds were all comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed (excluding food).
The water had no smell. A+ We would definitely come back.
Great little getaway in the woods
Very clean and nice inside. All you need to do is get food and you are set. Everything is there that you need. Was an enjoyable quick getaway from Columbus and hope to visit again! Thanks for making it so welcoming!!
Ginger's Cabin in the Woods was so wonderful! It was just what we needed as a family! Loved it!
Everything was there that we needed for a three day stay. The atmosphere inside and outside were amazing.
Best place EVER!
The place was clean and beautiful. Very private and quiet. If you forget it, it's probably already there anyways. Miss Ginger made our stay amazing and very special.
Was so tickled you picked my cabin for your celebration! Hope to see you next year.
Wonderful place to get away from it all!
It had everything we needed or wanted.
