Ava Haus is an authentic German Farmhouse located just 3 minutes from Fredericksburg on approximately three acres. Ava Haus offers a unique alternative for family and friends to gather during holidays or as a simple get a way for a few days. Our grounds and guesthouses are ideal for reunions, bridal parties and most any occasion. Guests can book reservations for the Cottage only, or book all five guest houses.

Each guesthouse has a TV with Satellite, WI-FI internet, refrigerator (always stocked with yogurt, juice and water) and microwave. The kitchenette provides coffee, tea and a selection of snacks. Guests are free to enjoy board games, BBQ grills, and explore the ample grounds. At Ava Haus we welcome your entire family to include children and pets.

The Garden Cottage is situated beneath a large oak with lean-to porch as the perfect entrance into this quaint little cabin. This special little guesthouse is one room with high-pitched ceilings and a roomy bath. The focal point is the king-size bed. The spacious bath features a claw foot tub with shower. Enjoy your morning or evening on the porch swing perfect for enjoying a beautiful Texas evening.

We look forward to your stay and strive to ensure that you experience the best of the Hill Country …lavender, peaches, live music, restaurants, shopping, hiking and more.

Please visit Ava Haus Dairy and Ava Haus Suite all located on the same property. Reserve all three cottages for special occasions.

Why this property?
When looking for property to purchase, we immediately fell in love with the grounds and the comfortable feel of the property. Ava Haus represented the authentic heritage of what has been so lovingly preserved in the city of Fredericksburg. Also, the location is perfect for us.
It is away from the center of town yet close enough to be in Fredericksburg in less than 3 minutes.
Ava Haus allows guests to enjoy the benefits of the country and still be minutes from wineries, shopping, restaurants and the natural parks of the area. Guests can have a true feel for the history of the region when they stay in an authentic German homestead complete with the original well, thick limestone walls and even the original root cellar where the pioneers stayed during times of danger. At Ava Haus we welcome your entire family to include children and pets.

Great Place for Our Weekend Getaway

Had a great stay, the cottage was very cozy and had everything we needed. It was in a good location, close to everywhere we wanted to be. The host was very communicative. We would definitely stay here again.

Cute little place. It was clean and very close to main street. Although it was next to highway it felt secluded. Patricia was friendly and gave us recommendations on places to go. Would definitely stay again.

Nice Place To Stay

The cottage was very close to the center of town less than 5 minute drive. The property was very clean. The cottage was nicely decorated. Perfect size for two to enjoy a nice weekend in Fredericksburg. I would recommend staying here

Perfect location

My husband and I enjoyed our weekend away. The cottage felt like home with all the extras the host left out for us :) Very comfy bed! Perfect location not 3 min from Main Street. We'll definitely be coming back!

Cute intimate cottage stay

We loved Patty's little cottage. It was cozy and super cute, just big enough for us and our 2 dogs. She was very friendly coming by once a day to check and make sure everything was ok. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again when we are in town.

Very peaceful and quaint cottage!

My fiancé and I stayed in the Garten Cottage and found it to be such a relaxing and peaceful environment. Pattie was very kind, easy to work with, and very flexible with us. We had a wonderful little getaway in her space and would most definitely come back for a stay in the future!

Nice and Cozy

The property is better than advertised. It's a very quaint cabin that was perfect for what we needed. I liked that it was outside of town but yet close enough to be able to get to anything that we needed. I would definitely stay here again on a future visit and would highly recommend it to me friends.

Fredericksburg Wine Tour

This is our 2nd year staying at this beautiful little cottage. We take a yearly wine trip for my husband's birthday and when we stayed here the first time, we were so taken by its charm and the cottage decor. It's perfect for a little weekend getaway and very close to Main St. It's always so clean and welcoming. We hope to stay here every year.

No complaints and worth staying in. Minor issues around getting in when arriving late at night and getting the TV to work but not show stoppers at all! Highly enjoyed our stay at this simple and quaint cottage built for 2.

We are Tava and Patricia Hamilton. Married since 1996; we share 3 beautiful children, their spouses, and 5 fantastic grandchildren.

Moving from Central Texas in 2017, we were given the opportunity to purchase an incredible 1862 authentic German Homestead that includes the first hand dug well in FBG, and the first Dairy Barn!

Attracted to the tranquil setting, beauty, history, and convenient access to town, we couldn’t refuse. On 7/17/17, we purchased the property!

Everyday we are thankful to live here. It is truly a charmed life. We are grateful to be sharing our place with you, family, and friends. Welcome to our Farm!
