About the host
Hosted by Lauren Noyes
For over 25 years, my family and I have been visiting Maine. We began our trips to Maine renting on VRBO, but we loved the Portland area so much that we decided to buy a house. We rented all over the area to discover which town we liked best and wherever we were, we found ourselves heading to Cape Elizabeth. For over a decade, we searched for the right home and finally found this 1901 house overlooking the Casco Bay at Cliff House Beach. To this day, if you ask us if we'd rather live in one of the mansions along Shore Road, all of us would say, "No!" We feel so incredibly blessed with this very special spot. When we bought the house, it had not been renovated in many years, so my architect husband worked with talented local contractors to renovate the entire home and literally take off the roof to expand the second floor. This home was designed to host the generations and we LOVE to share it with others who can also be refreshed, inspired, and welcomed by this slice of heaven.
Why they chose this property
We chose this seaside neighborhood due to its amazing views, mere steps to the beach, walkability to the Cookie Jar, Scratch Bakery, Rosemont Market, loads of restaurants and breweries, Fort Williams and the Portland Headlight, and much more. It is at the border of Cape Elizabeth and South Portland, so it is just 9 minutes from Portland and all that this thriving foodie town has to offer. It is 20 minutes from the Portland International Jetport with non-stop flights to Washington DC, where we live much of the year. It literally has the best of all worlds -- nature, city, and convenience.
What makes this property unique
Over the years, I have had many people offer to buy this house. We never plan to sell it. This is truly a generational house that welcomes individuals and families into the beauty, rest, and adventure of Maine.
