Private 3.5 Acre King Island on Lake of the Woods

New for June 2024! A new luxurious 1600 sq. ft. cottage. The new cottage is available in addition to the original log cabin and guest house.

Enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets on your own private Lake of the Woods island, located east of Kenora in Bigstone Bay. This property features a unique blend of modern design and traditional comfort. The 3.5 acre island is all yours to explore.

New Cottage: New spacious kitchen featuring quartz countertops, a large island/breakfast bar and a dining table for 10. The new cottage also features a large great room with a wood stove and 14ft ceilings. The cottage includes 2 bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen) and a modern bathroom with laundry.

Log cabin: Hand-hewn log cabin featuring 2 queen bedrooms and a loft space with a double and a twin bed. The cabin includes a half bath and a shower room. Our comfortable living room features a new wood burning stove and a 49" TV. There are decks on three sides with amazing views of the lake. We also have two kayaks available to explore the lake.

Guest cabin: hand-hewn log cabin featuring a king size bed, a twin daybed (with twin trundle) and ensuite bathroom. The guest cabin also includes a wood burning stove and a covered front porch with lake views.

Additional information:
- Lakeside sauna and deck (new in 2023)
- All new docks, parking for 2 boats (new in 2023)
- Boathouse with power, parking for 1 boat in boathouse and 1 on side.
- Lakeside screened-in gazebo and fire pit
- Rocky shore which changes into sand after 1 meter
- Wifi in main cabins
- Gas BBQ
- Please bring your own sheets and towels
- Please also bring drinking water. There is a water cooler available for your use (must bring large jugs). The new cabin has a drinking water tap and ice machine.

Minimum 7 day stays in July and August

You must have a boat to access the island

Please note that the island is not available during the winter

King island LOTW getaway

Amazing island experience just off the shores of Lake of the Woods near Kenora! Kaitlyn and Mark are wonderful and highly responsive hosts. Spectacular views and modern amenities mixed with nature and a rustic setting. Highly recommend!!

Authentic private log cabin get away

Cabin is located on a private island. Great fishing. Many areas are available to enjoy the views while dining. Dining tables are found in the kitchen, on the deck, on the dock and in the screened gazebo. After a hard day of fishing and enjoying nature you can unwind in the sauna.

King Island Getaway

Wonderful time with the family, cottage was exactly as describe, no hidden suprises, Kaitlyn is great to communicate with, but island holidays do have some challenges, when we arrived at the private dock to load up the boat, their were two boats there, so we had to load from shore which was not an easy task. If you are going as a group, try to get the guesthouse, it is beautiful and quiet. Would recommend this property to anyone

Rustic Paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed King island on Lake of the Woods. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home and the hospitality shown by Mark, Faye and the Tiller Band was amazing! Fishing for walleye and small mouth bass from the island was successful and provided numerous meals for our family during our stay. The pampered pooches enjoyed having free run of the island and even got in on a little kayak action with the kids. The cabins were extremely comfortable and well furnished. If you don’t mind a rustic atmosphere and are energy conscious you and your guests should be very satisfied with your stay. The screened in gazebo was a hot spot for playing games and devouring the catch of the day. The fire pit kept us warm on cool days, made perfect s’mores at night and kept mosquitoes at bay. We would definitely recommend King Island to anyone looking to relax, rejuvenate the soul and create lasting memories.

Beautiful rustic cabin perfect to get away and catch quality fish outside your front door. Cabins were clean and owners were very friendly.

Beautiful spot to relax!

What a treasure this place is! With it’s secluded location, rustic charm, and views of lake of the woods it was just what we were hoping for. If you are ok putting in the work that a place that is primarily off grid takes and you are not afraid to figure out the finicky details that are required to run a cabin in the woods this then it is a beautiful spot. The main cabin is well equipped for the size and the living space is cozy but large enough however the real joy of this place is the outdoor space. The large wrap around deck is where we spent a lot of our time second to the dock where the kids had a blast swimming and diving. Keep in mind that the terrain is a little tricky to navigate down to the dock and around the island although there are many well worn paths. The extra cabin is also beautiful and gave us the space needed to comfortably sleep 2 families, the owners recently added a new bathroom on the guest cabin which was a great addition. Lots to do and see once you are on the island and with a boat you can visit great swimming and fishing spots in a short trip. Getting to the island is a little extra work but worth it once you are there. A really comfortable spot to spend time together and get a way from it all.
