Use as last resort

The description is very misleading. I expected a lot for paying almost $1000 for 3 nights and I will be extremely honest here so that others are not let down. I will start with Pros: Neighborhood was quiet. Fireplace was nice, the master bed was comfortable but only about a full size, the master shower was spacious, heating in the property worked, fridge worked too well and froze dairy products but it worked. Guest bunk beds are comfy and the bedding throughout the home was in good condition. Direct TV and wifi worked well. The hot tub is nice, was only filled 1/2 way and we had to skim off some leaves and pine needles before use so hopefully it was in fact cleaned beings you pay a cleaning fee, but the water was heated properly and it was nice to have. CONS: While there is a huge master tub you can't take a "bubbly hot bath" as per the description because the plug leaks out the water and also the hot water heater only has enough hot water to fill the tub 1/4 up before running out. You will only have enough water for one shower at a time, this was very challenging for 4 people to shower, we had to time adjust and wake up extra early. The hot tub was not all the way cleaned, the jets are not strong and some aren't working, the cover is also broken except for one last hanging on clip. The washer and dryer need replaced badly, the washer doesn't spin out all the water and had to hand wring the clothes. The dryer will not dry your clothes in 2 cycles or more so you'll have to hang dry. You are supposed to do a load a towels before you leave, bring your own laundry soap this is not provided. Bring extra garbage bags there is only 2 provided. Bring extra dishwasher soap, there is only 2 tabs provided. There is no yard for dogs, only concrete, so if you have a picky dog you will be going on lots of walks. The "patio" is more a stoop, wide enough for maybe one chair. There are uncomfortable metal grate chairs and patio table set by the hot tub which we couldn't use because of the rain and no outside covering. The house is 4+ blocks to the beach, be prepared for a long jaunt. The location is really not close to anything but a bar, you will be driving everywhere. The BBQ outside was disgustingly greasy and dirty, also would not light with the igniter and the plates are falling off so we had to clean it ourselves and go buy a long handle lighter to even use it, so bring your own lighter. The kitchen is stocked with normal plates and bowels for about 6 people, no mixing bowls or anything so bring that also if you want to make anything special to eat. Bring your own fry pan, the ones provided stick like crazy and you will never get your eggs out, eventually you'll scrub them out by hand Lol. There is only one couch and one high back chair in the living room, comfy seating for 4 people other people will have to use the kitchen chairs for seating or the floor so if you do have the 6 people in your party the house can take be prepared that you can't all hang out and watch a movie on the couch together because there's only one. Overall for the cleaning fees, hot tub fees, price per night I don't think this duplex is worth it. With the amount I had to spend on things to use in the house and my own time cleaning before you can even get your vacation started it was annoying to say the least, my niece and nephew were begging me to get a hotel next time which is crazy because we've always enjoyed staying in vacation rental homes for the past 5 years.

Carpets and flooring nasty!

  • 1 of 5

The furniture was dated and uncomfortable. Carpets were nasty. Big spa tub wouldn't plug, dishes were hodgepodge. Pics showed property habing an ocean view. Very deceptive. 1/4 mile to the beach. Disappointing, amd misadvertised!

Owner's Response: Our apologies for the confusion. Some photos in the gallery do indeed show a nearby beach. However, the listing clearly includes the proper verbiage that it is a short distance away. There is no false advertising implied from the listing page. Thank you.

Fine house for a party crowd to split the cost

Not so much for a family of three to enjoy a beach get-away for the weekend.

Will visit again!

  • 4 of 5

This place was perfect for a beach weekend. Walking distance to beach and all the shops and restaurants in Seaside. The hot tub was so perfect considering the weather was much colder and more overcast than expected. My friends and I were very comfortable staying here!
