A Fly fisherman's dream cabin on the river bank and a great retreat to relax and fish when Norris Dam is not Generating. A family friendly location that offers private river access, Norris Lake Marina with lake rental boats 5 miles away, and many historical sites to visit including the Appalachian Museum, Oak Ridge's American Museum of Science and Energy including the building of the atomic Bombs and many more Knoxville museums. Historical areas of East Tn and TVA and Oak Ridge are available within minutes.
What makes this Cabin unique
Guest have said: A guest in 2016 stated "My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this cabin! It is well situated on the Clinch river for prime trout fishing! The cabin is well appropriated and the owner was very responsive whenever we had a question. Fishing on the Clinch is very generator dependent, but the cabin is very close to Norris TN which boasts Norris Lake and Norris Dam State Park with additional fishing/boating/hiking options. In addition, the cabin is close to Knoxville and the Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg area. We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to return soon! Others said, "The view from the River Room and screened porch convinced us this was a great find. And it is always 5-10 degrees cooler on this river than in the hills of Tennessee." ON 5/18/13 a visitor reported : 'I hooked two 20 + inch browns today. Time to fish. Got one within 7 feet, the other within two feet. Big teeth all in the same dang hole - heck may of been the same fish!!! Caught 10 other smaller trout while wading. " On 5/19/13: Another Fisherman caught the same 22 inch fish in our hole today and said he pulled a 27 inch brown out yesterday. They were all released - to be caught again!

We’ve been coming here for 5 straight years and we absolutely love it! I can’t say enough good things!
Now this is what you call a great client! Thanks Aaron this is a terrific recommendation!! We look forward to you and your family next year! Have a great summer.
Great property, relaxing rustic retreat with great fishing right out the back door!
Thanks for staying with us Michael, please come back again.
I booked this property last minute for a much needed disconnect. I knew I wanted something comfortable but away from the hustle and bustle. This cabin was perfect. I have rented through HomeAway/VRBO for years and am quite particular about one thing...cleanliness. This cabin was very clean and I don't say that often. The kitchen was well stocked (I cook full meals as I have dietary restrictions and it is easier than eating out) and easy to work in. There was plenty of space for groceries too. I only used the queen bed but it was clean and comfortable. My favorite space though was the sunken living room. It had stunning views and I spent a lot of time there and on the screened in porch. The only trouble I had was with the house alarm and gas grill and both were likely user problems. I didn't know to press the on/off button after entering the code for the alarm and the outside alarm started going off but I figured it out and the grill...I have charcoal at home and wasn't confident in my ability to light it so when it didn't light immediately I just switched my plan. Overall it was an absolute positive experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Watching the fishermen, canoes and kayaks, the wildlife and the river fill as water was released from the dam were all experience I enjoyed. I would love to visit this property again myself and hope to do so in the future!
I wish you had called as I would of talked you thru the grill.
But other than that I am glad you had a great time. Come back any time. The fishing was good last weeked.

peace and quiet
We enjoyed the river views from the house and the fog coming off the river. House has lots of room and setting is very relaxing
Glad you had a good time. Come back soon.
Beauty and comfort
The place is lovely and spacious. Beds are average in comfort. Must grow accustomed to the ever changing river levels (due to the very near damn) to maximize fishing opportunity and success. Plentiful fish!
Thank you very much. It is such a pleasure to host the people who enjoy our countryside and fishing. Please come back someday!
Rocky Top Chapter, Women Marines Assocation
The Women Veterans and River Guides thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We had everything we needed for a fantastic weekend. The Clinch and Miller's Island is just around the corner. The owner responded quickly to all of our questions and was great to work with. I would definitely recommend staying here whether you are fishing or not!!!!
Thanks for the great review. With the Clinch 20 feet out the back door it is a great place for wading fisherman. And the boaters are less than a mile to the Miller's Island boat ramp. Hope y'all come back. Regards, EGE.
Norris Dam and Museum -3 miles Other fishing areas: Wade Fishing is good at our cabin, but fly fishing for trout is great on the river, if TVA controls it's dam flows to accommodate your visit dates, so you have to check the dam Release Schedule Daily. But if you want to fish for bass, crappie, and other fishing we have Norris lake three miles up stream and you can launch or rent a boat from there at Norris Dam Marina. There is a a Clinch river put- in at Millers Island about one mile upstream from the cabin for floating the river and a take out 5-6 miles below at Peach Orchard ramp. In our area we have four more fly fishing rivers all tailwaters, the Wautaga and South Holston near Bristol, TN, and the Hiawasee and Holston are good too. Fishing guides are everywhere. Of course there are lots of other Lake fishing available too. Check out TVA lakes in East TN on the web. I suggest staying at the cabin and traveling to two or more other sites during the week. Also consider: Museum of Appalachia - 4 miles, Oak Ridge Museum - 22 miles, Clinton TN - 15 Miles or so, has more antiquing shops than any other nearby town. Knoxville - 15 Miles In recent years downtown Knoxville has boomed with Beer Brewers, one whiskey Distiller and restaurants too many to name! if you would like an Urban experience Check it out.
